Outstanding food, excellent service, and lovely ambiance.
One of my colleagues had found this place and also had the foresight to order the Peking duck (they need advance notice for the duck).
I loved the soup dumplings and the jellyfish. The shrimp dumplings and the pork belly was excellent as well. The duck was the star of the show and while it wasn't as good as some of the versions I've had in Hong Kong and China, it was one of the best I've had in North America.
My cocktail was wonderful as well.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Jul 22, 2024
There is so much hype around Mott 32 in Vegas that when I saw they had a location in Vancouver, I wanted to try this spot out!
We made a reservation and I was surprised to see that this restaurant location is not packed compared to Vegas. The server was super nice to us and gave us great recommendations.
The food here is nothing special and it wasn't amazing compared to other Asian restaurants. It's definitely upscale and had very good presentation, but the food was just ok. I would not come back since the food was super pricey for what it was and it wasn't delicious.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 4, 2024
Absolutely DELICIOUS!
So, it's been a great week here in Vancouver, and Yelp! has been super helpful, as always - we simply could not leave without trying one of the most well-known Chinese cuisine establishments worldwide.
So, we booked a table tonight and strolled there from the Convention Center - took about 10-15 minutes.
We were welcomed and seated in a nice 2-person table with a view of the kitchen, central dining area, and bar. Our waitstaff were polite and prompt. Grey was our main server, and he really helped us choose our items carefully - their menu is amazing, and it is EASY to over-order. He helped us trim things down to some very special dishes:
-Whole crispy abalone (umami for daaaaaaays... amazing!
- Hot and sour Ibérico pork soup dumplings
- King prawns with black pepper, soy, green onion, and garlic
- Black garlic and shrimp fried rice
Everything came out perfectly seasoned and at a nice, leisurely pace. The cocktails were tasty, and the ambience was comfortable - I definitely appreciated them keeping the music levels low, so we could enjoy our conversation together.
Overall, a wonderful evening, and I would definitely recommend! Will return the next time we are in town!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 19, 2024
A very very upscale restaurant featuring high quality Chinese cuisine. The duck was small and disappointing. In China it is served with soup made from the carcass. Not here. The skin was soft. Not crunchy. Sad. BUT. All of the other dishes were delicious and the service was very nice. I went as a party of 11 guests. Sitting at a super long table rather than a round one effectively ended much conversation. Sad. For the price of the meal I left more disappointed than delighted.

The hostess is friendly.
The restaurant is gorgeous inside.
We pre ordered the duck. The duck was delicious.
The sides such as the sauces and cucumbers came without the respective spoons, the wraps were stuck to the papers and no tongs were brought to help seperate the wrap from the paper. The dishes were NEVER refreshed or even so much as an offer to switch out to fresh plates.
Service was slow and practically nonexistent. We will not be going back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jan 28, 2024
We had an incredible experience last night at Mott 32. We had lunch earlier in the day at Karma, the lounge bar of the lobby, and met the sommelier for Mott32, Mark Ryan. Mark was able to get us a reservation and reserve us a Peeking Duck dinner.
The restaurant has a classy upscale feel from the minute you walk in. Get a reservation if you plan on going on a Friday or Saturday night. If you are planning on the Peking Duck, make sure you order ahead due to limited availability and demand. I like that you can see the entire action of the kitchen while you eat.
What an amazing dinner from start to finish. We met Mark at the table and let him steer the ship for the evening and we couldn't have been happier. I started off with a signature cocktail. the Old Harbour (Fashioned) (2.5oz) which has Suntory Toki Whisky / Canadian Club Rye / with Chrysanthemum / Goji Berry frozen into the large ice cube so you get more and more of those flavors as it melts.
We started with the Marinated Cucumber, Pomelo, Garlic plate. Crisp, clean, and flavorful. Mark then had us try the Hot & Sour Iberico Pork Shanghainese Soup Dumpling appetizer. It was incredible, so much flavor!
The highlight of our meal the Peking Duck. Mott 32 Apple Wood Roasted 42 Days Peking Duck smoked with sweet aromas of dried Apple Wood, served with freshly steamed pancakes, thinly sliced cucumber and scallions, raw cane sugar, and house-made special hoisin sauce. They carve the duck table-side using a unique technique that locks in all the juices. Accompanying the duck, we had the Duck Fried Rice and Wok-Fried Broccoli, Ginkgo, Bean Curd, topped with Red Dates. I can say enough about how great this dinner was. Amazing. M ark also made a great recommendation on wine as well, a local Pinot Noir bottled by Martin's Lane 'Simes Vineyard' 2018.
We finished with a soy sauce Ice cream desert that tasted like Salted Carmel. Delicious!
A big thank you to Mark Ryan and Mott 32. If I could give more than 5 stars, it would be a no-brainer. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Very fancy Michelin starred, great ambience, service and food. It is famous for duck and majority of the folks ordered that and relished it thoroughly.
I ordered Chicken fried shallots, black bean sauce . It was really good. Definitely one of the best Chinese foods I have ever had !!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 9, 2023
So we came for the duck.
This was no ordinary duck. This was a duck you ordered ahead of time but by the time we arrived, it was expertl roasted. And then carved up table side with such precision. It was a lot for two people. You're better off with 3-4. But still we had plenty of duck.
We also ordered soup dumplings. These were some of my favorite soup dumplings because they were filled with a hit and sour soup. So different. Plus they were presented on wood trays that avoided them getting burst when you lifted them up.
And do not miss the soy sauce ice cream!! It's like salted caramel but just better. It shouldn't work but it does.
Service was impeccable and the inside is unique. Overall, a special experience.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Feb 5, 2024
I had the pleasure of visiting Mott 32 for lunch and am reluctant to say that you get what you pay for. To be fair, I always thought that "hey this is Vancouver, why would we ever have dim sum here when you have Richmond", right? Wrong.
Mott 32 is well renowned around the globe but this one just did such an outstanding job. Although it wasn't very busy, the service was nevertheless impeccable and their attention to detail was spot on. This is not the place to try to get the most bang out of your buck. Instead, treat yourself to one of the best dim sum experiences I've had in Vancouver.
My favorites were definitely the Rice rolls. Definitely come through to have an elevated dining experience.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 4, 2024
We came for the whole duck and we were not disappointed. The presentation, carving tableside, and the flavor/quality are worth the rather high price. You get an elevated experience along with the duck itself. The one knock I have against it is the skin, which is not crispy.
The bbq pork is also to-die-for - each bite was succulent and savory/sweet. We enjoyed the fried frog legs as well. Service was superb. We'll definitely be back.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1
