What a wonderful alternative to store-bought bagels in a plastic bag. I had been craving good bagels and found this place through Yelp, and I'm glad I did!
Business was fairly slow on a rainy Wednesday morning. The employee sounded/looked stressed; I think shipments were delayed and the store was understaffed because of Covid. But he still did his best to serve us.
I got a half dozen cinnamon bagels and a container of plain cream cheese (they were out of honey vanilla unfortunately). They smelled so good that I sat in my car in the parking lot after purchasing and chomped one down, dipping it in the cream cheese because I had no knife. The cream cheese is perfectly tangy and has a nice, soft texture. I love that the cinnamon bagel is just cinnamon, no raisins, although the cinnamon being on the outside can make the bagel a bit sticky.
Overall, I'm a fan. I don't know if I would drive all the way to North Van every week for these, but I'd definitely do it once every month or so!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Pamela B.Beltline, Calgary, Canada05Mar 15, 2024
Nice fresh bagel but wish multigrain used multigrain dough rather than just sprinkling grain on top.

Bagels sell out super quick so be sure to come early in the morning. We got there around noon and there were already a lot sold out. I tried the breakfast egg sandwich and the smoked salmon sandwich and they also serve coffee and teas etc.

Definitely the BEST bagels you can get in the GVA, and this is coming from someone who loves bagels! I originally tried Mount Royal when I was visiting Victoria and was super glad that they have a location in North Vancouver as well. They have tons of flavours to choose from and homemade cream cheeses as well. As for ambiance, there's no seating inside as it's definitely a grab & go kind of spot so keep this in mind.
My favourites are the everything bagel, rosemary rocksalt bagel, and the sesame and I would definitely recommend trying their basil & garlic cream cheese - so good! I would also recommend coming here early in the day because they tend to sell out, especially of their more popular flavours, quite quickly. The service is super nice and patient with some customers that take longer to choose what they want. Finally, the bagels also freeze really well so I always buy a bunch when I'm there to stock up. Definitely recommend!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 10, 2022
I wish they sell single bagel. Looking at the old pictures posted on Yelp, it seemed like they did in the past.
For now the bagels are only sold in bags of 6 ($8). It is too much for me and I have to freeze some of them. I do not really like to freeze freshly baked goods as it kinda defeats the purpose of going to the actual store to get fresh bagels.
I decided to get the everything bagel to try. The smell of garlic is very strong. I can smell it in the car when driving. The bagel is soft and pretty nice when toasted and spread with cream cheese.
I got overwhelmed by the selection and what they had. So I missed out on the store made cream cheese and maybe more stuff.
I really wish staff would give customers time and space to look through the menu board and check out the store properly. Instead of the eagle eye laser beam on me, silently urging me to quickly order and go. This is especially so when shops only allow 1 customer at a time so I definitely feel the pressure of not being allowed to browse.
I doubt I will make the trip here just for bagels as I did not have a good store experience.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Dec 29, 2018
Awesome fresh bagels!
My husband and brother in law drove to North Van one morning to grab us some fresh bagels. They came back with a bag of assorted bagels about a dozen and a half, honey cream cheese, and plain cream cheese. It was delightful I tried the sesame with plain cream cheese and everything bagel. Both tasted chewy and soft in the middle, I didn't toast it I like it that way when it's fresh. The next day I tried the cinnamon toasted with honey cream cheese, that all tasted really good. Once we finished our bagels, four adults and three children we went back to get more. The store offers coffee and a small seating area. Overall, we loved their fresh bagels and will come back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bona F.East Vancouver, Vancouver, Canada03May 8, 2021
As a former Montrealer, happily, bagels from this place used to remind me of St. Viateur--in other words, exceptionally good, dense, little-bit sweet, not salty, moist, a good chew and worth a special trip to get some.
Sadly in the past 12 months or so, the quality of their product has really plummeted. I must admit, I haven't been to their store in NV, but I have (or rather, had) been buying them pretty much weekly at WF. For some reason, these former beauties have hit some kind of "mid-life crisis"--they're more "puffy", airy, springy, lop-sided, riddled with uncooked pockets inside--barely edible in some cases. They taste and feel more like those round, hole-in-the-centre, beige things you can get at most grocery stores. Sadly, MRBF bagels are nothing whatsoever like the ones you get from their suggested namesake.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Estelle M.Vancouver, Canada22Jan 30, 2020
Fiancé took me to Mount Royal Bagel Factory for the first time. We shared a Rocksalt & Rosemary bagel with honey vanilla cream cheese and had a regular coffee, oh my! Delicious! I've only had bagels from L.A and this by far beats it!

Good bagels but selection was awful. Show up at 1pm and I could pick from 3 varieties. I could understand limited selection if it was late at night but it wasn't.
12 bagels and cream cheese $17+.
Selection of cream cheeses was no better.
Too bad this place doesn't have a place to sit and have a bagel and coffee.
The Rock Salt place has a better selection and more to offer.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Zygmunt R.West Vancouver, Canada11Dec 24, 2018
There is one place I always have to visit when in North Vancouver. The best, most authentic Montreal style bagel outside of Montreal. They have warm chewy crust, and soft centre, a spread of their house made cream cheeses......I cannot get enough, big bag of every different flavours. Cinnamon with honey vanilla cream cheese is the best. I had a cappuccino with my order, amazing. I will be back for sure. Very friendly service too.
