Tasty Korean place close to Davie and Denman.
Parking is pretty horrendous here. Not sure what to say.
The venue is several steps down, so this place is definitely not wheelchair friendly. Something to keep in mind. It's basically a glorified basement.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Friends and I didn't know what to order (not familiar with the vocabulary) and they were very helpful.
Each medium sized box is a very decent portion for 2 people. I imagine a large can easily feed 3. Very good deal I must say.
The only issue I have with Korean fried chicken in general is that the flavour becomes too much if one has several pieces of the same flavour. Therefore it is best to order more flavours in a given batch to mix things up.
Yang-nyum (sweet & sour sauce) - just the right mix. Tasty.
Mat cho king (soy pepper sauce) - a bit on the salty side, but this is expected. Nice pepper kick.
Pa dak (green onion) - this one comes with a pile of green onions on top. We thought the box was inverted. The dish includes a container of sauce that needs to be poured all over everything before eating.
The order also came with a container of pickled turnip (daikon) for each box of chicken, which was nice.
Overall I was very happy with this place. Would gladly come back in the future. Recommended.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 2, 2023
Yummy spot for Korean food on Davie St near English Bay. Very fun spot with kpop music blasting and music videos playing. Can get pretty loud.
Food was pretty good. Budae jigae was perfectly spiced and had great amount of veggies, sausage and ramen. Snow cheese chicken was just ok -- I was expecting something sweeter and it was just Parmesan. Corn cheese was tasty and took a little longer to prepare.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 2, 2023
I'll make this fast - I purchased takeout, more than once. After the first disappointment, you wanna see what if it was perhaps merely a bad batch, or too busy to worry about a small order. The ratio of breading to chicken, is alarmingly too too high. How can I tell? There are perhaps 10 others I've tried within 2 kms of this spot, and my absolute worst experience.
Just drive up Davie st. a few blocks, go get it from NeNe, or hit Robson st. and you'll find better quality at any of the many from the bottom of the hill to the topHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kram T.Fairview, Vancouver, Canada01Jun 24, 2024
the waitress is terrible. We were 9 people and got 3 tables then we asked for another table politely that no one was there. She answered that because we booked 8 people and some customers already booked is coming. Since 8:03 to 8:48, no one was there. we asked the second time poli with another waitress and she answered that she will ask her team and she didn't give any answe. When the customers got that table, we asked them about how to make the reservation for them. They said they didn't make the reservations. So we were 9 people and sat only 3 tables for 45 minutes with the empty table behind us.

A delicious Korean restaurant by English Bay
Mumu is a hidden gem in the West End, offering an authentic taste of Korea by the waterside! Everything was delicious and the staff was super friendly and helpful with the menu. They have some of the best Korean fried chicken in all of Vancouver, and I absolutely love and recommend their yogu salad!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 173981325Sep 4, 2021
We came here on a Friday at around 5pm. There were already a couple tables seated and by the time we left at around 7:30 it was full. This is definitely a place for young people to come and drink and just relax. The music is pretty loud but could be a good hangout.
The service is really good and the food and drinks came very quickly.
We ordered beer, Soju and snow onion chicken. The chicken was really delicious. Wasn't dry at all. The outside was very crispy and airy but not oily at all. The onions aren't the very strong spicy onions but a sweeter onion. The sauce felt watery but it went perfectly with the onion and chicken.
If I'm craving Korean fried chicken, I would definitely order from here. The portions are huge and the prices for chicken are not bad. I would definitely want to come back to try their other menus as they have a lot of authentic Korean (sul-jib) bar menus that you can't find at other Korean restaurants
Tip: if you order on their site for to-go you get 15% off chickenHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 19, 2021
Hidden KFC restaurant near English Bay. Delicious and flavourful traditional Korean food, with some unique items. Generous portions too. The restaurant is quite dimly lit, with some neon lights at night, so it feels like a very authentic Korean izakaya-type dining. Very cute hand-drawn menus too.
*ALERT: Their chicken batter contains peanuts*
Supreme Chicken $27: HUGE portions, definitely worth the price. On the sweet side, and it's very saucy and flavourful.
Yogo (Yogurt) Salad $8.50: SO GOOD. Kind of like cole slaw (shredded cabbage), but it's sweet and creamy. Scoop of ice cream on top. Honestly, it sounded weird on the menu, but it turned out to be my favourite dish surprisingly.
Rose Teok Bok Ki (Rice Cakes) $18: not too spicy, it's a unique twist on traditional rice cakes in a creamy sauce. Includes lots of assorted fish cakes too.
Cheesy Bacon Gamja Jeon (Potato Pancake) $19: finely shredded potatoes infused with Parmesan cheese, that is super crispy (eat it right away). Heavy black pepper taste (this can be either a pro or con).
Cheese Gam-Ja (Fries) $9: Cheese powder from Korea, that's salty and sweet. Much better than movie theatre popcorn cheese powder.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 30, 2022
Mumu kitchen was AWESOME - great chicken and fun vibe even on a Tuesday. We got the seafood pancake, fried chicken with jalapeños and the kimchi cheese rice. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and extremely addictive. Just thinking about it makes me crave it all.
The vibe is funky with KPop music videos going on in the background on the tv and other tables drinking soju, things got alittle loud but we didn't mind!
The half order of chicken was big enough for three of us and the pieces were nice and juicy with such crispy skin! Great spice factor as well.
I love a good seafood pancake and my bf and I make them at home a lot. This seafood pancake was huge! We took home nearly half of it! It was really yummy and full of different kinds of seafood!
Lastly the kimchi cheese rice was also awesome, piping hot and gooey! I loved the addition of the egg on top also! Adds a great texture to the rice.
Overall awesome joint that I will no doubt order from again! They have so many different chicken options I can't wait to try them all.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 87153874Dec 1, 2021
Located on Davie Street, closer to Denman. Korean fried chicken done decently. Ordered the cheesy corn, spicy soup with beef and tofu, and original chicken-bone in.
The food was decent. Service was pleasant. I think there are so many Korean fried chicken places all around town so this particular location didn't blow me away but I think the food was good. I prefer my chicken to taste a bit more seasoned from the meat...which I didn't get until I dipped the side of sauce that it came with. The skin was crispy-which is important.
They have cool neon lights. So there's a cool vibe. I think they have covered the glass windows from their store front to give it that night time/underground bar kinda vibe.
It's worth checking out!Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0
