There seems to be a mix of reviews for this parking garage, but mine was very positive though. I have parked in most of the parking garages and lots around the city and I can honestly say this was the cleanest, largest, and most convenient I have experienced.

I arrived at an early time to explore Golden Gate Park and then the California Academy of Science, so my 9:00 AM arrival time would probably explain the ample amount of parking spots available. When leaving it seemed to be a fighting war over the Cal Academy side of the parking garage, but the De Young side seemed relatively open. Either way, after parking easy access to above via stairs and or elevator and again, very clean which seems to be rare nowadays. Returned after a few hours to a high bill ($18 for 3 hours), but you get what you pay for when it comes to most of the garages in SF. Easy in and out with the standard ticket and pay station, but keep in mind you have 15 minutes to exit after paying at a station.

Easy to find parking and wasn't too bad in terms of price $30 in SF is reasonable go figure.

Where I had issues were directions to pay and direction to the parking garage on foot. 0 instruction via Maps, their site and inside. Only while driving out did we need a notice to pay before leaving, which was no where near payment kiosk. Easily fixable things.

I usually park in the garage at San Francisco because if I use street parking there's a chance that I'll be parked in so tight I won't be able to get out again.

It all seemed normal at the Music Concourse garage. You drive thru the entrance, pick up the ticket and park. It is surprisingly small and has two levels. I was a little surprised by the woman pulling tickets out of the machine but it sure made entry fast and easy. And conveniently located to Golden Gate Park.

However, the hours, the closing hours. When they say they close at 7 PM they really mean they close when the museums start closing and they expect you to get out pretty darn quick.

So when we showed up at 6:55 pm the place was completely locked up. (closing time was 7 PM)

The one redeeming feature, we called the business office and someone answered and responded very promptly to unlock our trapped cars from the garage.

That totally saved us from getting a taxi and getting a hotel room for the night. Cuz the garage opens at 7 AM. I think.

The underground parking is conveniently located near all the main attractions in the park. It was easy to park midweek around 9am, the garage was almost empty. I considered walking from a 4 hour spot. I wasn't sure I would back to my car in time to avoid a ticket. When I return I might take public transportation, because parking is very, very expensive and I am sure a ticket would be too.

Welp, I could certainly park your car here. The Music Concourse Parking always has a bunch of space due to the lack of customers who use the space.

      Yours truly,

Parked here for the first time on a Saturday, a little after noon, in Jan 2023 - garage appeared to be around 70% full (could've been busier due to the Ramses exhibit at the de Young that's ending soon). We noticed several vacant spaces for EV charging (one yelper mentioned it's free; we didn't check). It was convenient to get to the de Young via the direct entrance from the garage (photo included). We stayed for less than 3 hours, and our parking cost was $18.75. Generally, it's a good option for convenience, peace of mind, or when the weather is poor.

Good place for parking if you are going to the academy of science, de young museum or that part of Golden Gate Park. It's a typical underground parking lot with multiple levels and all payments are through the machine. It's pricey but it's a good option especially when there isn't any street parking like most of the time .

If I could have given a "0" rating, I would have. Our car was burglarized in the garage on November 30. Two, rear passenger windows were smashed and various items taken from the car. The glass damage alone totals about $1,000. Upon leaving the garage, the parking attendant was aware that the car had been vandalized. He said his supervisor would come talk to us. The attendant than came back a few minutes later and said "sorry", there's nothing we can do. The supervisor never contacted me nor did anyone else from the garage. They basically don't care at all about their customer's misfortune. EXTREMELY disappointing. I have no idea if this garage even has security cameras. This expensive burglary and total lack of interest by garage personnel basically ruined what had been, a really pleasant trip to San Francisco. I would strongly recommend hat people NOT park in this facility.

I want to share a recent experience I had that I hope will help someone visiting the SF state park. I used the reviews here to decide that this garage was going to be my choice for convenience purposes. We arrived early and parked in the garage along with a few other cars. As we made our way to the botanical gardens we noticed that street parking was in abundance and people was starting to parking there. They did look like locals. We exited the garage paying the minimum 5.95 fee and found a convenient street stall near the garden entrance. After spending aprx 2hrs we were walking to our car and noticed a car pull alongside ours and a male person looking through our windows. I yelled at him and they took off. After researching SF break ins I realize we was lucky. Hope this info helps you make a smart decision. I'm saddened for this beautiful city.

Parking was pretty decent but quite expensive. If you're visiting the golden gate park, just use your car to get around and park in the streets, it is free.
