The Napa Valley is steeped in sunshine, flavor, and beauty. A simple yet sophisticated place, it's always been about great food and great wine -- no fuss. In the springtime, the mustard flower blooms and covers the Valley floor in a carpet of yellow. When the restaurant was being built, it was this carpet that inspired the name Mustards. Since opening in 1983, Mustards Grill has been serving farm-to-table fare that celebrates the flavors of our California home. Award-winning chef Cindy Pawlcyn has crafted a menu of favorites, using ingredients from our own garden or curated carefully, with an eye towards continuing to be a "localvore." Join us for a glass of blue chip wine and a dish made to make you happy.…

Mustards is a very, very popular place! It's in a town called Yountville and I think a lot of people who visit Napa Valley make a stop there. We were four of those people! We had reservations, but we still had to wait maybe a half hour or so. Let me tell you, it was worth every minute of that wait! As fast as they could turn over a table, someone else would take their place in line. I was told that one of their signature dishes is the pork chops. My friend had ordered it and let all of us in our group try it. It was so tender! No wonder they've sold over a million... The rest of us had different dishes, the gf had a salmon salad and that salmon was as big as a steak! My other friend and fellow Yelper had a lamb w/ pasta dish which she really enjoyed. We ordered an appetizer too, a fried onion ring dish which was delicious. It was served with a sweet catsup sauce which was a little tangy... Very good. We all enjoyed our meal and the great service that we received. I just wish we had more time, then we could have sampled the dessert!!! Great place!

The food is so so good. Especially the cornbread and citrus tart.

The staff were friendly and accommodating to my husband and our 11mo old baby.

And we enjoyed looking around their gardens. A great place if you're in the area.

Note: We landed here after being unwelcome at Rutherford grill who told us they had nothing to accommodate our baby. I'm glad we landed here at Mustards! They were amazing and helped us redeem our afternoon with delightful food and friendly staff.

May be it was an off day but I didn't enjoy any of the items that I ordered. I was surprised by the high ratings.

First, I hate luke warm soup. It should either be piping hot or completely cold. I didn't appreciate my corn chowder served luked warm. I literally had a spoonful and had to say goodbye. Then the pork chop, and it was overcooked. This time, I had to send it back and the second time was better but still tasted bland.

The only thing that I enjoyed was their onion rings appetizer which was their stable. But that didn't require a whole lot of culinary skills.

Came to Mustards Grill for dinner. It was highly recommended. Reservations were simple to make and we were seated right away upon arrival. Each dish we ordered was absolutely delightful. My boyfriend and I split everything. The Famous Mongolian Pork Chop came out perfectly seasoned. The portion was just enough for us because we also had a Garden Salad to accompany the whole. In addition, we had the Crispy Calamari, curried slaw, Fresno chilies and corn bread. I could have had the calamari as a meal. What a pleasing culinary experience!!! Loved it and will come back for more.

The service was great. Our server didn't rush us and was attentive and friendly. It was big enough, and a lot of people were seated. The noise level was medium and to be expected based on the seating arrangement. They had faint music playing (80's music-which we enjoy). I would have liked it to be a notch or two louder to mute out conversations.

We sat at a 2-person table right in the pathway to the kitchen and bar. My chair kept getting bumped by every server that walked by. I somewhat (I still got bumped) fixed it when my chair was pushed in and I was up against the table. Other than that, it was a nice dining experience. Requesting another table wasn't an option because they had a full house. (The thought crossed my mind.

We enjoyed a walk through their garden. It was photo worthy (selfies included).

If you're in Napa or have time to enjoy a wonderful drive through wine country, this is definitely worth the trip.

I am looking forward to going back.

This place always seems to land into the travel itinerary whenever I spend a weekend or a few days in Napa. It's a solid place for reliably good food with a diverse menu of fantastic farm to table offerings. The atmosphere is laid back, the service is always top notch and the dining experience is always fun, whether it be for brunch, lunch or dinner. Always get the cornbread, it's amazing! Love the mongolian pork chop, the lemon and garlic chicken, herb marinated rabbit. Come to think of it, I don't think I've had an entree here I haven't liked. Easily accessible place with lots of parking.

We finally got to try this place and it lives up to its reputation. It's good old American food, but elevated and modernized. The staff was friendly and attentive. Earlier in the day we were booted from a winery because kids were not welcomed, but Mustards Grill was just the opposite. There's a kids menu, and the staff made sure their food came out first.

The decor and table settings were elegant. The food was delicious and fresh. Make sure you get the corn bread. It's moist and sweet.

Here are a few stand outs:
+ Famous Mongolian port chops (5/5) - plump, moist, flavorful, yummy. Our 3-year-old ditched his chicken nuggets once he got a taste of this and couldn't get enough.
+ Truck stop deluxe (5/5) - today they had a 14 oz rib eye smothered in about 1/2 cup of butter. This was decadent and pricey. It was perfectly prepared and melts in your mouth.
+ Meatloaf (4/5) - this was a hearty slice of meatloaf with carrots mixed in. It was delicious and large enough for 2 to share. It came with snap peas which were delicious and crunchy. The only disappointment was the mashed potatoes. It wasn't very creamy and by the end of the meal, I could pick up the entire mashed potato serving like a pancake with my fork.

Overall, we all enjoyed a very elegant meal in a beautiful setting.

We stopped in here for lunch while doing a few winery tastings in the area. It's a great lunch spot. We started off with the calamari which was lightly fried and so flavorful. It was topped with a slaw that contained a curry dressing which was a very unique touch but paired really well with the calamari. It added a nice pop!

For my entree, I ordered one of the daily specials which was the lamb burger. It was topped with a fancy lettuce, olives, and feta cheese, the perfect Mediterranean flavor profile. Served medium with a side of fries- it was a knockout. My wife ordered the adult grilled cheese and crab cakes and split it with our friend. It was a perfect lunch for two ladies. Crab cake was fresh and just to die for. They also had great things to say about the adult grilled cheese served with a side salad of fresh greens.

This place is like an upscale diner with plenty of tasty options as well as a plethora of wines and cocktails.

When you drive by this place, it looks like a typical road side diner.

Ignore that impression. Go in and take a seat, and find some epicurean delights, and a wine list which would make some restaurants in Illinois green with envy.

We made a reservation based on a recommendation from the Beau Lieu Vineyard during a tour. We incorrectly judged a book by it's cover, so to speak. Mea Culpa. Oh man, MEA CULPA.

The menu isn't huge, but it makes up for that with interesting dishes. The back of the menu has wines by the glass, a sheet twice the size of the menu has two columns of white wine on the front, and 3 columns of red wine on the back. I'm talking several hundred bottles.

Service was punctual, polite, and attentive. The water glass didn't stay empty for long. We started with their Ahi Crackers, which were just great! The crackers were thin and crisp. My wife tried to cut hers up - nope, don't do that. The Ahi is a very high grade, you can bite off some of the Ahi and a cracker.

We both ordered their Mongolian Pork Chop, which had a light Mongolian barbeque flavor. It was large, thick, properly cooked, nicely seasoned, and tasted great. It was on a bed of mashed potatoes and had red cabbage which was a little sweet on the side. Yum!

We asked for a wine suggestion, and our waiter suggested a Cabernet Franc (GL Durban) by the glass. I was impressed with the wine's freshness and mouth feel - it was just good.

You really need to make a reservation and try this place out. Three suggestions from winery people, all were great!

Mustards Grill is a Californian restaurant in Napa Valley. It is known for its upscale Californian-New American fare. The menu features a wide variety of dishes that are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. It has a low-key atmosphere. This makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family.
Overall, Mustards Grill is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere. If you are looking for a place to eat in Napa Valley, I highly recommend checking it out. I was able to have the wine flights built to include a mix of Napa wines. My meatloaf dish tasted great and Hanna was a very courteous server.
It was founded in 1983 by Christopher and Cindy Bradley.
It has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and Bon Appetit.
It has won numerous awards, including the James Beard Award for Best Restaurant in America.
It wasn't extremely busy on a Sunday late afternoon in late July. I'm glad I came here. I wanted to see a little bit more of the Napa history.

Stopped by this American diner type restaurant for dinner on a short trip to Napa due to many many recommendations by friends and family. Our reservations was for 8 for 10 people. We showed up at 7:40 and was told to wait outside. We went for a stroll in the nice little farm right by the parking lot. Our table was ready around 8:15 or so but to our surprise, we sat at two tables next to each others. So all the guys sat at a table for four and the wives and two kids at a table for 6. I had the Pinot flight which was a nice option to try two local Pinots and one French one. We also got the onion rings side dish for appetizers. Really thinly cut onions deep fried with a tomatoes and apple ketchup. It was different and we devoured it. The other guys ordered a couple of coktails. Gimlet, old fashioned and Bloody Mary. The old fashioned was full of ice which was not to our liking but the gimlet and Bloody Mary were great.
I got their signature Mongolian pork chop since everyone raves about it. Ordered it medium and it comes with mashed potatoes. Surprisingly our food arrived very early and unfortunately my pork chop was very cold. At that point I was way too hungry and didn't make a fuss about it and ate it. Although it was cold, it was cooked well and was tender. We skipped the dessert. The server was in a rush at the beginning but then relaxed abit and was very friendly. The bus boys are all super nice and courteous. The location is very nice and right across a nice vineyard.... Ambience 5/5, service 4/5, food was 4/5.
