Nabi Salon

This review is long overdue. I have been coming to Nabi for a couple of years now. Su and Vanessa are the perfect dynamic duo. They are very attentive and they make sure you're well taken care from start to finish. Su is so talented and does such an amazing job with my cut and color. I leave that salon a very happy client each time. Hands down the best stylist!

I've been going to Nabi Hair Salon for quite some time now (many years) I primarily go to Vanessa and Su, but have had the previlage to work with Stylists at their sister salon as well.

I went in this time for a double process balayage. Mind you since I've been going for ages half the time I don't even care what they do to me including amount of hair that is cut because they have done such an exepctional job at hitting it right on the nail 100% of the time that I already know whatever they do will look amazing.


They are super sweet and knowledgeable and give suggestions on what color/tone would suit my skin tone in addition to what style cut would compliment my face shape. They make me feel extremely comfortable and confident the moment I walk in. They are very personable and explain the process step by step so that you understand what is going on.

I have had nothing but satisfactory results since I began going to them. I am so incredibly happy I stumbled across them. I moved temporarily to Modesto for 2 years and would drive down just for Nabi every 3 months for a trim and tone and a bit longer for the balayage when my roots would grow. I will never go anywhere else. They have made it extremely hard to find anything/ anyone better.

When booking an appointment they are very transparent start to finish and very informative they ask questions if you don't know exactly what you want. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Thank you Su, Vanessa, and team for creating such a welcomeing environment. I always appreciate your patience with me and I am so grateful you guys work with me on dates/time since being a mommy of 3 you have made my self care time extremely pleasant.

I am posting a few pics from over the years. I originally had jet black virgin hair. When I consulted with Su and Vanessa they made it extremely clear that the process would take a few sessions to get to my inspo image so that my hair would not damage or fry and fall off in attempting to do it in one sitting. I appreciated their honesty and decided to trust the process. I have 0 regrets.

I would say this was a fab place overall. It's only been a few days since my tone and cut so we'll see how the color stays but it was overall a good value compared to the other places in the Bay Area!

Overall, the salon is split between the hair side, and the spa side (where you can get facials and such). It's a cute lil place in the middle of burlinggame! I was lucky with parking and was able to park for free on one of the side streets. Apparently, the two hour parking can be more than two hours... ;-) otherwise, there is meter parking on the street in front of the shop.

As I was a new client to Nabi salon, Su was not taking new customers, but I was able to schedule with Vanessa. The earliest appointment with her was about 2 to 3 weeks out and she was an absolute doll! I originally scheduled for a balayage to fix up my year-old-grown out prior dye. However after talking to Vanessa about my goal to go more natural, we ended up doing a tone and cut. It was great since she really listened to what I wanted! :)

The cut was nice and simple and my hair looked SOO much healthier! Would recommend others to come!

I appreciate everyone on the Nabi/Aria Beauty Bar teams for always being accommodating, kind and professional.

Vance deserves a special shoutout for the AMAZING work he does -- not to mention his vast skillset! I've tried it all with him -- blonde, platinum, dark brunette, a balayage with a statement piece, curtain bangs, straight across bangs, layering and extensions... I wouldn't trust anyone but Vance and his assistant Lana to help me.

He's always made my hair dreams come true and is good at setting the proper outcome expectations to avoid any surprises (I take big risks as you can see in my photos lol). If you're looking for any of these services, I'd recommend you visit Vance for a consultation.

Not to mention the area is super cute. I've never really had trouble parking close to the shop entrance, but be careful on weekends since the shops are located right downtown. Spots fill up fast.

TLDR: Will be coming back! Vance did great! Understood what I wanted and will be asking for him next time! Haircut was $100 so it might be pricey if all you're looking for is a trim. I got maybe 4 inches cut.

My hair was dyed May 2022 and it still had some blonde in it. The ends of my hair was DEAD so I knew it was time to get it cut. My sister suggested I go to a place that specializes in Asian hair, so after some searching on Yelp, I found Nabi Salon~

I made an appointment and it wasn't until a week out. Their website said $75 for a cut so I knew it was going to be expensive going in but it was fine since I don't get my hair cut often.

I found residential parking because parking all around is 2-hour only (ended up not needing it since my cut took 45 mins).

First impression: the floor tiles of Nabi Salon looked "worn" and the space was kinda tight. Their sister salon next door, the Aria Beauty Bar was more spacious. I was offered water beforehand so that was nice~

I showed Vance some reference photos on Yelp and he understood what I wanted and offered some suggestions too. In the end, I loved the cut!

The haircut was $100 and I tipped so it's pretty pricey if you all you're looking for is a trim. I got 4 inches cut so it made sense for the price. They didn't put heat protectant in my hair before blow drying and curling my hair so I was concerned it would damage my hair but the blow drying and curling didn't seem like extensive.

Overall, I'll be back!

This is the salon to go to in Burlingame! You can call the business directly to book appointments and they are so quick and responsive. Everyone is so kind and welcoming! Technique and skills are amazing and service even better! Best cut and color!It's refreshing to get such great customer service and care, especially after such a bad hair salon experience. Loved getting my hair cut and colored here by Vance! I had this salon bookmarked for months bc of the rave reviews, and I knew they booked out months in advance. When I finally called to make the appointment, I was lucky enough to get a same-
week one due to a late cancellation.

Vance was super knowledgeable and helped me with a double-process balayage and haircut. Definitely hope to be back :)

I've been going to Nabi Salon (now also Aria Beauty Bar) since the beginning of the pandemic. Over the last 2 years or so I've had Su, Courtney, and recently Vance work on my hair. They are super knowledgeable and I've always left satisfied with how my hair color turned out.

As with many places, prices have gone up. I recently had an appointment for a double process partial balayage + cut. When it was time to pay I mentioned that I got a partial balayage (half of my head was painted and the bottom half was not) and I was replied with a short "we don't do that here". A partial balayage was literally what I got (??) but I was charged for a full balayage. I wish this was made clear at the beginning of the appointment - so that I could have gotten what I paid for. Weird that they offer partial highlights per their website but not partial balayage. The total was $400+ without tip which I still tipped 20% on top. Definitely not cheap.

I really liked Nabi/Aria but my last visit left me feeling uneasy. Sadly, I don't think I will be back.

So thrilled I have found Su! I was looking for a go to hair salon near the neighborhood and found Nabi salon via Yelp. I called in to make an appointment 2 months in advance and was excited to get a fresh look.

I went in and got seated right away. Su made sure to understand my needs and gave me suggestions. We agreed on the color and style and she worked her magic! I wanted to have warm brown color and layer hair cut.

Throughout the process, she informed me of what each steps were and made me feel comfortable. I was very satisfied with my new look and will be coming back. Make sure to call in advance because she books up!

Vanessa is amazing!! I just had double balayage and a cut. She is such a professional and highly skilled at what she does. She helped to explain things as I was not familiar with the double balayage process. Very patient, kind and gracious. I look forward to my next cut with her and I've already set up a lash lift appt at Aria Beauty Bar right next door under the same company.
