Nancy Vu-Ha

(Before Nancy): Once upon a time, I tried a hair salon in Fremont and asked for a trim and natural looking highlights. Low and behold, I walked out looking like a freak show with chunky blond-white highlights (aka my hair was dead) and a choppy hair cut. Worst. Day. Ever! I went to Walgreens on the way home and bought a box of hair dye to cover the nasty nest on my head. I was traumatized!

One year later...the hair gods sent me to Nancy...

(After Nancy): After browsing thru Yelp, I found Nancy and booked an appointment ASAP. Best. Decision. EVER! Nancy totally lives up to the hype! She is the whole package: she listened to what kind of hairstyle I wanted, she made hair color/styling suggestions, she always made sure I was comfortable (water, soda, magazines, etc.), she massaged my scalp during my shampoo/conditioning, she gave me the most awesomest blowout ever, and to top it off, she taught me styling tips and tricks using different products. Long story short, my hunt for a hairstylist has ended here. If Nancy had stock, I would invest in it for life. No joke. Nancy is the BEST, period.

I have been looking for a new hair stylist for a while,I am so happy I found Nancy! She made me feel really comfortable and had great communication, she repeated back and made sure she understood the style I was going for before she started. Her Texturizing skills are amazing even on my fine hair! The cut she gave me brought back my confidence! She gave me tips on how to style my new cut.
You can tell she loves her craft, she truly is an artist! Thank you Nancy!!! Cant wait for my next visit

I've been going to Nancy since summer of 2021. When I first went to her, I have to say, I've been having a difficult time with my hair. After about 6 months after my first haircut with her, and the tips she's provided, my hair is low key thriving!

Let's start off with location... She's located downtown Hayward off B Street. Although, parking kinda sucks, and it is the Main Street with so many cars, her place is so cute!

Inside her place, there plenty of seating, and a lot of chairs available. For the most part, whenever I go see her, I'm probably the only other client inside - just incase you guys get nervous for Covid reasons.

Nancy is so welcoming. She starts off asking you what you want to do with your hair, and she observes and starts framing your face to see if you would like it and gives out suggestions as needed. Then she washes your hair, and then she begins the cut. She's so knowledgable in the industry. She given me helpful advice on how to maintain my hair. For reference, I've always had to wash my hair daily because it's always getting so oily. So she's given me tips on how to prevent it. And after 6 months of following tips, and seeing what works for me, my hair is fuller, healthier, and thriving as I've mentioned.

She also sells products in house just in case you want to obtain professional items.

I highly recommend her. You won't regret it.

Nancy has cut my hair multiple times over the last two years. I love the layers and lived in look she has given me. These have been my favorite haircuts in years.

Special shoutout to Ms. Nancy Vu. I am super low maintenance hair gal but I do love my hair long and want to give it a Hot Mama makeover and she did not disappoint. The first picture is my before pic and it was a peek-a-boo highlight look that I asked for last year. Fast forward a year later, I recently went back to Ms. Vu and waaaaalaaaaa.... My jaw dropped, my husband gave me a "How you Doing?" look. I feel amazing and I cant wait to see her again in the next 3 months to do a toner and make it bright.

Nancy is absolutely incredible and everything you want out of a stylist. She's professional, friendly, and diligent. I had my first cut by her and she righted so many wronged cuts and colors. I loved that she took the time to really understand what I wanted instead of getting right to work (expected gesture, but not everyone does it!). She gave me insight into her suggestions and made sure she clearly understood what I DIDN'T want. The cut speaks for itself. She gave me everything I didn't know I wanted in it. She was very detail oriented and stopped at every step of the cut to make sure I liked what I was seeing.
Hands down, BEST STYLIST EVER.

Yes, she is still my girl after all these years (2012)! My go to, my hair angel, my super cool and fun stylist! I have referred friends, family, and even patients to her. She's just amazing and good at what she does. Thank you so much, for always taking care of my cut and color, AND good convos!

Nancy is professional, communicates amazingly, and knows her stuff. Downside is she's so good at her job and popular! Book accordingly so you can get in! Worth the wait!

She's a good boost for your ego and is great on your wallet.

She also does private bookings for events. Just ask!

I have been looking for a new stylist and would love to give Nancy a try. I have left a voice message requesting for an appt a couple years ago, but I never got one call back. I messaged her on Yelp in the past also and ZERO response. I wanted to give one last try a few days ago and has gotten ZERO response. Super bad customer service. Definitely left a bad taste bc of the poor customer service.

It was my first visit to the Sugary Plum Artistry and because of COVID I didn't have my haircut done for more than a year. Got the best haircut I've ever had with Nancy! I have thick hair and it's very hard to manage and she thinned it well and was precise with how much hair I asked her to cut. I've been getting compliments as a result of her work! Definitely going back!
