NAPA Auto Parts - Bay Area Parts

Dumb little problem and a quick fix by Kyle. He saved me untold hours of frustration and humiliation over not being willing to figure out how to replace a windshield wiper. 10 minutes and I'm back on the road. Thank you, Kyle, for rescuing my afternoon!

I called them before buying a battery for my 2008 Lexus. I had a choice between Costco and O'Reilly. Costco has interstate batteries with decreased quality, and O'Reilly's battery was pretty pricey. The best option was Napa Auto. What impressed me was when I went there, the employee asked me what I needed, and I said battery for Lexus, and he already had it ready. It made the checkout process friendly and enjoyable because I was also impressed by the amount of liquid moly products they have for European cars. I would recommend them the only thing is parking in the area can be a pain, but you would love the service you get from them.

Been shopping at BAP/Napa for a while now. Needed an alternator but didn't have one in stock. Guy at the counter says he can get and come back at 4pm. At 3:45 pm I got a call and my alternator arrived. Picked it up and installed after an hour. Thank you!!

Not so great.

* Tried to exchange a NAPA battery with a 6 year warranty which cannot maintain a charge above 12.3 volts, it *should* be good for another 3 years but I can no longer trust it to not leave me stranded. Fully charged automotive batteries should measure at 12.6 volts or above; normal policy with a battery is that during the later part of the warranty you should get a pro-rated refund/exchange.

Nope; according to them, it's still good. Try telling that to my car.

* Tried to exchange a busted, fairly new Craftsman wrench there - it's supposed to have a lifetime warranty and the Craftsman website specifically lists them as an official dealer. You're supposed to be able to bring busted Craftsman hand tools to any Craftsman retailer, no proof of purchase required.

Nope, not this place, apparently it's gotta have a special NAPA serial number on it. I have never heard of such a thing with Craftsman tools. The unquestioned lifetime warranty has always been their thing.

* And finally, they close at 5:30, not 7:00 as they apparently used to. Compare that to Advance Auto Parts, which closes at 7; or O'Reilly, which closes at 9; or AutoZone, which closes at 9. Or any of the many places on the internet, which never closes.

There is no point in shopping there anymore, unless they are the only place that has an odd part that you cannot wait for. But I'd rather go to the dealer's parts department - that's how disappointing NAPA is.

Excellent service, friendly knowledgeable and got me exactly the parts I needed. I absolutely will be using this store again.

Awesome! They are open until 7 pm and are open on Sundays! I could not find certain parts elsewhere, and Napa Auto once again has the parts I need. I have been coming here for the past couple of decades, so it is reliable.

Eswin (spelling?) was nice and helped me find the parts I was looking for. It took no time to get the part and be on my way back to putting my car together. Thanks!! It was much better than waiting and waiting for parts I ordered (turned out the sheet didn't even ship it!)

Worst customer service ever ! They sold me the wrong parts and then after the fact Told me I should double check their work / sales. " we are not mechanics " you got that part right buddy. Never returning!

Ordered and prepaid for a Bosch Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) at the Napa on Mission Street here in Daly City. When I went to pick up the part the following day, they gave me a Bremi brand part and said it's fine, it'll work, the part number matches the OE. I needed the part so I had to take it, especially since I had already paid for it.

Well, it didn't and they said no returns on electrical when I called them. They said I could exchange the part but would have to pay a difference and had to wait a couple more days for it. Um, you sold me the wrong part and it didn't work!

Called a friend who knows a guy at Napa on 8th Street in SF. They exchanged the Bremi part for the Bosch part the same day and questioned how I even got the Bremi part. He also wondered why they didn't call the 8th St. store to transfer the Bosch part!

Be careful of these guys in the DC store!

This NAPA store nolonger accepts orders online for payment in store. Everything has to be pre-paid. Not a very friendly bunch either. Will go to other NAPA stores instead. Parking sucks. Hope they go out of business.

It's been awhile since i had a car. So, i needed new wipers, some extra bulbs, car mats etc for my recent 'used' purchase. I went back to BAP AUTO PARTS...as they were there years ago... I know they must be doing a lot of REFERRALS as they have 4 people at the counter to help you, Iv'e never had to wait more than a FEW MINS. I just told them what i needed for my 95 FORD ESCORT and they looked it up on computer. I was out of there in 10 mins. I see in their ad it says 'IF WE DON'T HAVE YOUR part in stock..WE'LL get it for you".
The store isn't that big...but they sure KNOW the business and can deliver it in mins..or tell you how long it will take..KNOWLEDABLE, FRIENDLY SERVICE..Good prices too.. Tired of waiting at KRAGEN'S? Give these guys a chance and i'm sure you will be back.
