Oh how I wish we had a restaurant like this a little closer to home! Naschmarkt had a beautiful interior decor, pleasant outdoor seating, wonderful food and drink options, and engaged service. Yes, it's a little pricey but not exorbitant for what it is.

Along with beer and wine, we ordered:
      * Austrian Cold Cuts - the large platter included yummy cold cuts, pickled vegetables, pretzel chips, and 4 mounds of different spreads: Chicken Liver, Salmon Pate, Pork Rillette, and a spiced Goat Cheese. It was delicious but I would have preferred it served with their amazing bread which was brought later during our main course - 4/5
      * Jager Schnitzel -- thin pork in a luscious mushroom sauce with charred broccolini and a creamy spaetzle side dish. I loved that the pork wasn't breaded and felt light for such a rich dish. The broccolini was so delicious that I wished there was more of it - 5/5.
      * Weiner Schnitzel with pork -- this was my husband's meal which I sampled, served with lingonberry sauce and a German-style potato salad. The breading on the pork was crispy and the lingonberry sauce balanced it perfectly - 4/5

We were too full for dessert, but the kindly servers brought us a goblet of their scrumptious sorbet anyway while singing Happy Birthday to my husband. It was a sweet ending in multiple ways to a very nice meal. 4.5 rounded up.

      Solid 3.5 stars!

The best thing we ordered was the dessert - apple strudel. Perfectly crispy and lightly burnt, not overly sweet. Wonderfully ending to a meal.

The appetizers and entrees were decent - nothing to rave about. I particularly enjoyed the side dishes though. The vegetables were perfectly charred. The potato salad was an interesting middle point between more chunked potato salad and mashed potatoes. Everything was soaked in pickle juice. The flavors and the texture made it more refreshing than your usual German potato salad.

I visited on 26 June and ordered the sausage trio ($36).
The spicy sausage was quite good, the bratwurst tasted a bit off as if previously frozen, and the third mystery sausage was just OK.
My disappointment with this meal was two fold:
1\ The bland potato salad - I am a fan of German potato salad but this offering was well off the flavor mark.
2\ The overly sweet sides of caramelized onions, red cabbage and sauerkraut. I will give you that caramelized onions and red cabbage can be sweet, but not as sweet as a dessert. However, I have NEVER encounter a sweet sauerkraut - just goes against the name of this favorite fermented vegetables.
o - The Jager Schnitzel my wife ordered was a better choice.
      o - Service was excellent.
o - Room was too noisy too for our table of 7 to easily carry on a conversation. The adjoining table had a few rather boisterous patrons.

Made a reservation on Yelp and came here with my family (party of 6) for Mother's Day dinner. All the staffs were so friendly- starting from the host, we felt very welcomed.

The person who took care of us was Deniz, she was super sweet and patient. I started my dinner with a drink...because family does that to you ha. The Holunder was beautiful and delicious, and it put me in a good mood for the rest of the night lol.

We ordered the Homemade pretzel to share and the tomato eggplant soup to tie dad over. The pretzel was on the saltier side but was delicious- especially with the bacon cheese dip. The soup was delicious and a little bit tart.

For entrées, we ordered the Jager Schnitzel, the Beef Goulash, the Chicken Pot Pie, the Kraut Ruladen, the Butter Lettuce Salad and the special of the day, the Schlacht Platte, which was pork ribs with potato, sausage and sauerkraut. Out of everything, the favorites were the chicken pot pie and the Schlacht Platte. Everything else was good too but those are the two that stood out for us.

We were stuffed but we had to get desserts. The plan was to get 2 desserts to share, until Deniz told us that the special of the night was a wild berry mille-feuille. So we got 3 desserts to share- the millefeuille, the blueberry soufflé and the apple streusel. They were AMAZING! I honestly would just come and order 3 desserts next time lol. The blueberry soufflé was piping hot, light yet creamy. The Apple streusel was my personal favorite- crispy and caramel-y with vanilla ice cream, YUM. The mille-feuille was made with phyllo dough instead of puff pastry so it was very light and just melted in our mouths. All of them were not overly sweet and it was the perfect way to end the night.

      10/10 recommend!

We've enjoyed the fabulous food and service here many times for dinner. Today we went for lunch and enjoyed the excellent Chicken Paprikash, which is only offered at lunchtime. The homemade cocktails and pretzels are always delightful, all their salads are great too. Attentive service is the icing on the cake. And check out the desserts in this photo. Do yourself a favor, go visit this neighborhood gem!

Excellent service and elevated (mostly) German food. I visited the Palo Alto location, but plan on stopping by Campbell as well.

The Spätzle with chicken was fantastic, as was the Hungarian beef goulash. I'm a sucker for that dish and it didn't disappoint. So many other dishes on the menu look wonderful too.

It's not inexpensive. Check the menu before going so you're not surprised, but totally worth it (IMHO).

Service is outstanding. Friendly, helpful, courteous and refined. Befitting of the whole experience. I can't wait to return!

Made reservations online about an hour beforehand and luckily there were a lot of options. Indoor, outdoor, and bar seating are all options. We were seated indoors and the ambiance was great. Dimly lit and intimate setting with decorations that make you feel like you're in Europe.

We ordered the homemade pretzel, jager schnitzel, and Hungarian beef goulash. Complimentary bread and butter upon request. Each entree came with spatzle which was a great plus. Pretzel could've been crispier on the outside and the beer-cheese sauce that came with it was on salty side. Jager schnitzel was pretty good and I enjoyed the mushroom cream sauce. Goulash was alright and didn't stand out much to me. Loved the spatzle! Went well with the entrees.

Service was great! Waitress was very helpful and accommodating. Overall food was pretty good but on pricier side.

I really like their schnitzel at their Los Gatos location so when I had a lunch appointment in Palo Alto, I quickly suggested Naschmarkt to try this new location.

It didn't disappoint. The restaurant was very beautiful and clean. The service was very attentive, and they have a nice outside patio for al fresco lunch!

I ordered the pretzel to start (yummy with a cheese sauce) and the schnitzel sandwich. It came with some herbed potatoes and made for a really nice lunch. I kept the cheese sauce from the pretzel and dipped my potatoes (oh man, they should sell this!) The schnitzel was tender and well seasoned, the bun was a pretzel bun and the aioli was flavorful.

It all made for a nice lunch with my cousin. He ordered a house salad with salmon which he said was very good too.

Went here with my parents and my boyfriend with his mother for Mothers Day and for the first time and didn't know what to expect!

Food was great I enjoyed the sausage trio where it's smoked pork, paprika and flavor of the day; the smoked pork and flavor of the day were our favorite while the paprika was too spicy for some (not for me) and the saurkraut and rotkohl paired with it well.

For entrees; I got the sturgeon which I never had before and it didn't disappoint and my bfs mom getting the artic char which was sweet and creamy with its sauce. Everyone's favorite was the rabbit leg because it was springy and juicy, I wish it came with the whole rabbit for all of us to have a serving haha! My parents both got the same seafood pasta and it definitely got them full.

Overall it was very comfy and family oriented and service was great! They accommodated the mothers with hot water when asked and turned on the heating lamp for my dad and gave us roses at the end for the holiday. :) I recommend this place !

For my birthday, I had a hankering for some German food, particularly Schnitzel. Food was a little pricy and service was a little slow. However I was served the biggest schnitzel I have ever had. Bigger than I needed but I consumed it all with a little help from my friends.
