Natural Life Aquarium

Today we went to this shop and the man at the cash register appeared to be in a bad mood. We inquired about the price of a 10-gallon aquarium, but the one we were interested in was at the bottom of the boxes without a price tag. When we asked for assistance, he began tossing boxes around. After scanning the box, it appeared that it was not in the system, which made him visibly angry. We decided to leave as he seemed upset by our request for help.

The service provided is completely unacceptable. Customers who are new to aquariums may not receive any assistance or information about their purchases. It is important for the owner to address this issue, otherwise, they should consider closing the store as it appears they do not care about their customers.

Back in 2020/21, I read tons of recent reviews saying Manfred has horrible customer service and doesn't engage with customers, but I decided to give it a try anyway because I figured perhaps people are just misunderstanding him. Plus he's gotten lots of great reviews in the past. And I was right. Manfred is a very friendly guy He really cares for the fish in his shop, they're of excellent quality, and he is very knowledgeable. I saw some really beautiful bettas and decided to come back at a later time to get one.

Fast forward to now, I came back to his shop to look for a quality galaxy koi betta and found a BEAUTIFUL one Manfred also recommended some catappa leaves to soften the water and create a more natural environment for my betta so I got those. He's been very lively since day 1, loves to play, and eats a lot! His coloring is absolutely stunning and worth the money I paid. I would definitely come back in the future for bettas again.

You can get fish from any other LFS at a lower price for sure, but you're paying for QUALITY from Manfred, so go with whatever fits your budget really

If you want the best quality fish, Natural life is the place to go. Yes the prices are higher but its a simple case of 'you get what you pay for'. If you want cheaper fish go to 6th ave but good luck getting them to live for longer than a day. I have been shopping with Manfred for close to half a year and not once have I seen a sick or dead fish. All of the fish I have purchased from him are still alive and well and living their best lives. His customer service can be questionable at first but once you get to know him he is pleasure to talk about fish with. Very honest man as well.

I try to support a local fish store but it's so hard to justify paying 2-3 times more for a fish.

One of the worse service I had in an aquarium store. The person in the store rather spend time on his computer than help. There are not much selections. Their fishes are also on the expensive side and you cannot get a straight answer on the price of medium sizes kois. I wouldn't recommend this store. It just don't feel that they care about service or selling for that matter.

Drove an hour to get here just for the store to be closed at 6. Please fix your time to stop wasting everyone else's.

NEVER BUYING HERE AGAIN!!! I use to be a regular here ever since it opened and I know Manfred selects great fish. I knew his customer service wasn't the best, but I always came back for the selection. Throughout the the COVID quarantine, I understood that business wasn't booming so I would pop by and support by buying from him, even if he charged more.

What really pissed me off was his terrible business tactic! I was buying 8 fish for $7.99 so I knew that it would be somewhere around $70 with tax.

NOPE! The price was $95! Luckily I asked for a receipt otherwise I would have never known! I noticed lately he stopped telling me how much he was charging at the cashier and he just took my card and would swipe it. As soon as I asked how much were the fish and we did the math right then and there it didn't add up. He asked for the receipt back looked at it and said he "accidentally" charged me for another item worth $20. When I asked for the receipt back, I looked at the time of charge for the fish and the "accidental" item and guess what?! BOTH WERE CHARGED AT THE EXACT SAME TIME!!!

Not even an apology from Manfred. He said would get rid of that charge and charge me the correct amount. Luckily he fixed it. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the hobby and I support my Local Fish Store, but you're going to conduct shady business tactics to your customers, especially the long time ones, then you don't deserve my business.

I do not recommend going here. If you do, ask for a receipt and check prices. As for Manfred's lack of customer service, I wish you the best of luck.

Manfred has great quality fish from fresh water to saltwater. I am so glad that i have a legit local fish store. I got to interview Manfred and got to know a little more about him. You will not regret stopping by this fish store!

Fish are healthy, owner not that friendly.
Purchase a couple fish in his store, no price listed(which I don't really like). They're pretty pricey compare to other LFS. When asked he did said the fish are quarantined. I'm willing to pay a premium for it quarantined fish. However visiting this store just doesn't make you want to spend because seems like the owner doesn't want your business, when asked him a question, most of the time he give you one line answer, doesn't feel like he even want to talk to you. Will I buy again from him? Maybe, but i would spend more money with steve @ lucky ocean. I could give natural life aquarium more star if they're more friendly.

Haven't been at this location for 5 years due to bad customer service. Honestly, nothing has change and the prices of the fish and other items are higher than other fish stores. The skinny white man working when I came has a very bad communication and customer skills. No price tags around the aquarium regarding how much each type of fish cost. The store is dark, dirty, and dusty. Me and my cousin end up spending $100 on fish at the place by Geneva we're the man working actually give us information regarding the type of fish we wanted to buy.
