Nautical Nellies Steak & Seafood House

Service was good but quality was across the board pretty poor. Ordered cod off kids' menu and for $19 they gave my daughter a sliver of fish with rice swimming in butter. Oysters were good. Prices were awful.

We came in for krab legs from a cruise. This place is amazing. We ordered way too much food but all of it was great.

We stopped by for a quick lunch and were immediately seated. Service was great, but the food was ok.

- Tuna tataki: I didn't have this dish, but my husband mentioned it wasn't bad. I don't think it was necessary to place the tuna pieces on such a large bed of salad.

- Lobster roll and bisque: the lobster roll was good with large chunks of meat, but the flavor was just ok. The lobster meat was incredibly overcooked and resembled the texture of cooked chicken than lobster meat. It was also pretty rubbery. The lobster bisque was also pretty mediocre.

Staying at the Fairmont Empress hotel few blocks away, which boasts its own fancy steakhouse, I was intrigued when the hotel staff enthusiastically recommended Nautical Nellie's Steak & Seafood House over their in-house steak house dining option. Located just a few blocks from the inner harbour in Victoria, BC, this restaurant is more than just a place to eat--it's a culinary experience.

We had countless oysters from both coasts and lots of wine to share. Service was prompt and friendly. I'm still thinking about these oysters!!

We were visiting Victoria for the first time and we were looking for seafood for dinner. The restaurant was in walking distance of our hotel and the reviews from fellow yelpers were positive. We made reservations and arrived a little early.

The menu had a variety of options and the seafood section offered different seafood entrees. We settled on the Caesar salad, Sable fish torched with miso and the Mahi Mahi. The Caesar salad was a bit heavy with the dressing so order with dressing on the side. The Sable fish was cooked perfectly and the miso added so much flavor to the fish. The Mahi Mahi was also cooked just right and tasted great with the baby bok choy. We were so full that we had no room for dessert.

Everything we had exceeded our expectations! Food was good and the waiters and servers were very attentive and nice the Portuguese style bread was amazing.

Came here for our anniversary dinner. We sat inside and the temperate although mild outside was stifling inside. The temperature was quite uncomfortable.

We started with a bottle of red wine per our waitresses recommendation. It wasn't a great recommendation to be kind. We then ordered bread to start and the mixed seafood grill for two. Our bread and entree came out at the same time, a little disappointing.

I don't know what it is about the bread in Victoria but 5/5 * everywhere we went including here. The grill for two included New York steak, andouille sausage, prawns, lobster tail, seafood stuffed mushrooms, Mexican street corn and zucchini. Everything on the plate was 5/5 *.

We were too full to order dessert, although having mentioned it was our wedding anniversary, no attempt to congratulate us was made. A bit disappointing. For the price, I'd come back to try lunch on the outdoor patio.

I was in Victoria for work and needed to host a group of 12 for dinner. Nellie's welcomed the group and skillfully kept everyone happy!

Our server was professional and fun, knew the menu, offered suggestions and kept track of everyone's orders - even when people switched seats!

The menu had choices to suit everyone's tastes. The food was fresh and delicious. Servings were generous. Price point was fantastic. A decent wine list, reasonably priced.

A great spot right at Victoria's scenic waterfront. I will be back again soon!

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The food is very good. The presentation is beautiful. On top of that our server was so sweet.
