Solid coffee shop close to Emily Carr University. This has to be the coolest looking coffee shop in town. The red flower looking building is a real stunner.
Parking is available along Great Northern Way, as well as the side streets towards the S side.
The place sure is busy. The lineup snaked out of the building and wrapped around.
The interior is modern and spacious. Interesting pentagon hole in the middle of the ceiling and wavy interior. There is also a large outdoor patio to the W of the building.
Staff were friendly and cheerful and helpful. Special mention.
The pastries here are quite good I must say. The tiramisu croissant was beautiful. Light and fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness and cream. Coffee was tasty too.
Definitely worth checking out if one is into the hipster coffee experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 211037Jul 15, 2024
A solid, top tier hot mocha latte with oat milk, and an iced oat latte.
Very friendly customer service, and one of the employees was aware to bring us water. It was a hot day despite us sitting indoors. I saw the same employee bring a bowl of water out for some customers who sat outside with their dogs. I appreciate when an individual is aware and appears to care.
The decore was very unique and eye-catching. I'm kind of curious how the architecture was chosen for the spot.
The spot is clean and there seems to be a lot of natural lighting that makes this place nice. Would highly recommend this place for pure coffee enthusiasts.
There is a 30 min. free parking in a structure if you're going for Nemesis Coffee.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 14, 2024
Really cool architecture! Got some good photos of this place. The inside is a vibe as well, it looks billowy and bright.
They also happen to have good coffee inside. The nitro cold brew could have been a bit more nitro, it was almost flat by the time they gave it to me. The tiramisu croissant was pretty good, it was moist and soft on the inside!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 15, 2024
Nemesis is the most aesthetic and most viral bakery/cafe in Vancouver beyond doubt. It has been on the top of my to-go list. It has three locations, but this particular location in Great Northern Way is the prettiest among all with its unique dome-shaped roof and high ceilings.
Multiple restrooms, plenty of seatings, attentive service, free parking at the parking lot nearby...I can't praise enough.
*Tiramisu Croissant **
MY FAV. It tasted straight up like tiramisu infused in a croissant! It was generously stuffed with espresso and mascarpone cream. The best bitter-and-sweet pastry a coffee lover could ever ask for.
*Strawberry Cheesecake Cruffin*
All their summer flavored cruffins looked attractive, and it didn't disappoint. When I cut the cruffin, a good amount of strawberry filling oozed out. It had the right amount of sweetness, and the outer layer was crispy and flaky. I also loved the mini jelly garnished on top.
*Chocolate Cashew Cookie
The cookie was large with nice chew and gooey texture. The sprinkled sea salt enhanced the sweetness of chocolate chips.
*Latte, Flat White, Mocha, Matcha Latte
Decent coffee with beautiful latte art.Helpful 5Thanks 4Love this 5Oh no 0 - 9048140Jul 2, 2024
Super cool dome interior with highly attentive waiters and the friendliest cashiers!
This was the first stop of our food crawl so we only ordered a mortadella sandwich and a pistachio swirl. The mortadella sandwich was by far the best sandwich I've ever eaten in my life, but I also don't eat many sandwiches so that could be it too. There was a hint of honey mustard in it which complemented the egg and mortadella so so well. The bun was perfectly glazed and crisp. If I lived in Vancouver, I would come here more often just to get this sandwich!
The pistachio swirl we could've gone without. I ended up not finishing it, and I would recommend trying out another pastry instead.
Tips:
- If you're planning on sharing, ask to have the sandwich cut in half!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 14, 2024
Another amazing Vancouver find! This coffee shop was packed already first thing in the morning. The cashier was super nice and gave us some great pastry recommendations. I'm always on the hunt for the best kourign amann and this one is definitely on the top list. The cruffin and tiramisu croissant were also great options for a nice sweet breakfast pastry. Definitely want to come back for their savory options since they all also looked amazing. Would highly recommend and definitely a fav from this trip!

I wasn't too blown away when trying this place. Wasn't what i envisioned and it was a bit of a bummer.
Drove out here on the weekend hyped about trying some pastries and seeing what was on their drink menu.
Parking was a real pain and there was like lots of construction. There additionally was a bit of a lineup which wasn't so much the issue ... But the pistachio swirl i ate .. i wish the flavour consistency was more present. I wasn't getting the sweet glazed honey taste throughout it. It was just in random spots .. it was also a bit messy to eat because the pistachio bits kept falling. Not all that sure if the price tag matched the product itself.
I'd say if your in the area yeah check it out why not but i don't really think you need to go out of your way to pay a visit. Service was good though and pretty standard. Mind you they don't always have evening in stock either so just gotta test your luck.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 20, 2024
I'm glad I made it here during my visit to Vancouver! This particular location is in a very cool rose-shaped building and it's surprisingly big inside with a wide seating area. I went on a Saturday morning after 10am and it was quite busy with a constant line forming at the door. They have a good system in place where you order at the counter and then they put your name down for a table. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long for ours. We shared a few pastries, which were very photogenic and had fun flavor combos.. not the best ones I've had but yummy nonetheless. I really loved the ube mango matcha though! I'd definitely recommend trying that one. Service was friendly and attentive at all times. It's a cool spot to check out!

I love checking out local coffee shops and this place is quite popular for good reason! There was a short line-up and a beautiful case of tasty looking baked goods for us to choose from when we visited on a weekday afternoon. The staff was friendly and nice, and they accommodated our preference to be seated nearby the windowed areas. The interior with the flowing mushroom gills fabric on the ceiling and light birch wood dining areas are so creative and stunning! It's such a cool cafe.
We ordered a pourover coffee ($5.50), a latte ($5.60), a tiramisu croissant ($7.50) and a breakfast croissant sandwich (around $12).
The drinks were lovely and coffee was roasted well with a nice depth of flavour. The croissant sandwich was so tasty with a slight crunch on the outside wrapped around a soft and savoury bite on the inside. I did a quick check and the menu now has milk bread instead of a croissant with their sandwiches - dang! The tiramisu croissant looked sooo pretty and had a great coffee flavour. The texture was a little disappointing though since it was more dense and chewy rather than light and flakey. Still enjoyed it though!
Overall, a happy coffee shop experience!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 24079Mar 18, 2024
@nemesis.coffee has such a good collection of treats, brunch items and drinks. The Vancouver location is so cute but it does have limited seating so go early! They have a very efficient system to serve customers and get the tables ready for the next groups so don't worry too much if you don't see a spot right away.
The brunch items may not look big but they were actually so flavourful and filling that it was a very satisfying experience. Good service and nice vibe in there too!
I'll definitely want to go back for their pastries next time! Tiramisu croissant sounds amazing!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1395072764Jan 10, 2024Updated review
Consistently great baked goods, excellent Americanos and friendly staff.
ChocolateCookie are a thin format, great chew and texture.
I don't have have a favourite croissant, any on a whim choice is very satisfactory.
I appreciate the underground parking esp on a rainy day.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0Nov 17, 2022Previous reviewGreat Northern Way is my favourite location. Plenty of parking and easily accessible by car. Staff has always been super professional and nice. The architecture is beautiful, however the walk in-between the glass and post is a bit odd. The handful of times I've been, the pistachio swirl always tasted better at this location. Chocolate Cashew Cookie are huge and tasted very good reheated also.
