Ngo OD and Associates

Got my eye exam and some cool pic of the retina. Apparently it is healthy :)
The Dr and the staff is very nice , very knowledgeable.
I highly recommend this place.

Dr. Ngo is an outstanding optometrist for all people, young and old. He communicates well with his patients by giving thorough examinations and explaining along the way for the patient to understand exactly what is going on. I used to go to another optometry office in San Jose, California, however after finding Dr. Ngo, I surely won't be going back to the other place! Here are a few key points I felt made this optometry great:

LOCATION: Both convenient and easy to locate. The Palo alto office location is located inside the square near trader Joe's. He also has another office in Milpitas, California, located on Landess Ave.

EYE/CONTACT LENSE EXAM: I try to get an eye check up every year because I wear contacts. I usually have THE WORST time because I always felt that the offices I went to before rushed to get me out of the office asap, but not without a purchase. The eye exam with Dr. Ngo made me realize this is exactly how every patient should be treated: with respect and care. He made sure I understood the conditions I have and recommended the best for me and my eyes.

SALES: The sales part after the examination is easy peasy. The workers are attentive, and they don't pressure you to buy anything you don't want or need for your glasses. They are very knowledgeable in their work, and are respectful as well. Very easy to work with, converse with, and they will diligently work with you for as long as it takes for you to understand what you are paying for.

GLASSES SELECTION / CONTACT LENSES: Wide selection of glasses, ranging from the popular ray bans to Oakley and Bebe. There are a lot of affordable selections as well such as Scott Harris and Cole Haan. Don't be afraid to let the workers there know if you have a price range in mind! They are respectful and will help you with every step of the way. As for contacts, they have the whole lot! Acuvue, biofinity, freshlooks, etc. For both glasses and contacts, if you have a particular frame or contacts in mind, they can order it for you (as long as they carry the manufacturer, as for more info). Glasses are usually ready in 7-10 days and contacts ready around the same time or faster.

Overall, I've had THE BEST experience coming to Dr. Ngo for my eye check ups, and I will be coming annually! THANK YOU DR NGO!

If you'd like to get your eyes tested, think twice. We were deeply disappointed with the vision test and will be retaking it again with another optometrist:

1) The optometrist insisted that she administer dilation drops into the eyes before the vision test. Once the drops are administered, pupils are sensitive to light and vision is blurred. This blurred vision is how she went ahead with vision test. If you can't safely drive a car after dilation drops how can you take a vision test with it?

2) Light in the exam room was flickering when the test was taking place.

3) The whole process was rushed through. The optometrist decided to randomly lower the astigmatism # based on feedback my bf had experienced some headache. No explanation given on how she came to the subjectively assessed number.

4) Offer on Yelp is NOT honored if you are using insurance.

Great place to get an eye exam!! The doctor, Dr. Ngo, is super friendly, and I felt at home the entire time I was here. I will be coming back annually for my contact lens prescriptions, as the doctor is very knowledgeable and accommodating to the patient's various needs. In my case, I asked about a regular daily lens prescription and a daily color-enhancing lens prescription. I had a wonderful experience overall - and if you'll be driving or have important things right after, you can choose to opt out of the dilation exam.

Got my vision check and the perfect pair of glasses all in a reasonable time span.Even got help with contact lenses which gave me a huge trouble at first.

Dr. Ngo is extremely passionate about what he does, and it's evident in his exams. He provides comprehensive eye care and is eager to explain all of the eye health findings by the end of the exam. I highly recommend going to see him!

If your looking for a great long term , I'm gonna visit every year optometrist , here he is! I brought my mom and Neice to Dr. Ngo. We made an 1 1/2 hr trip to see him. I trust him with my eyes and my family's. He's knowledgeable and genuine. Honesty is hard to come by in any profession nowadays. Always about an upsale and never about the customer. He was super patient and sweet to my mom. Moms even said she didn't like the drive but would rather do it because she trusts Dr.Ngo. My Neice was also happy about the service and her glasses. Why is that special? She's a millennial . Lol . That's a winning day for me! And we had lunch in a cute cafe nearby!

I just had my annual eye checkup and as usual Dr.Ngo was great. He's always great about explaining what's happening with my eyes and the exams and checks are always through. The covid protocols are on par and super safe also. I highly recommend Dr.Ngo.

Dr. Ngo is such an amazing optometrist! He explained and educated me in depth about my eyes and what was going on. He then proceeded to explain the steps i needed to take for healthier eyes! He also found the perfect glasses frame that fit the shape of my face. My contact lenses came in super quick as well! This place does not disappoint! It is located in a very nice center, so after your eye exam you can walk around and shop! Can't wait for my next exam with Dr. Ngo!
