Northeastern Exterminating

This review is long overdue! Should have written this review last year but never quite got around to it.

Background: A year ago, there was the whole N-Train bed bugs news that really freaked me out. Around the same time, I had some mysterious bite marks near my upper thigh (in hind sight, I believed it was a very vicious mosquito that got trapped underneath my blankets and then went feasting). The combo of the bites and the N-Train bed bugs scare has left me sleepless for many nights so I decided to fork over the money and get professional help.

I did a lot of yelp-research to find the best pest control company that has high reviews and is affordable-Northeaster Exterminating came up. I gave them a call and they were super courteous and helpful. In fact, the owner allowed me to share my fright and diagnosed that I probably didn't have a bed bug infestation if I only had a one time incident a month ago. He also provided some strategies I can try on my own to see if an inspection is truly necessary, which I so appreciate.

In the end, though I didn't exactly see signs of potentially having bed bugs, I decided to do the inspection anyway because I just needed the peace of mind and they were quick to help me set one up.

James provided the inspection and was very polite, patient, and thorough in his services. He answered all my questions and made me feel at ease.

Overall, Northeastern has been superb! I can't recommend them enough. I hope no one has to worry about bed begs infestation BUT...in the unfortunate scenario where you're unsure or where you do have an infestation-they are the ones to go to.

I reached out to them for a survey of a potential pest situation. James came and provided an honest assessment and made some sound suggestions on how to proceed. He did not exaggerate the problem as some other company would have ,to make more money. I'm glad I went with Northeastern Exterminating and will be referring them to my friends.

Joe did an incredibly thorough job addressing a big ant issue in our basement bathroom! He figured out where the ants were coming in from outside and was meticulous in his treatment. Two weeks later, and no ants!

I thought I had a bed bug problem and immediately began to panic, as most people usually do. I decided to call a professional to come and take a thorough look. Before deciding on this company, I called two other local companies, both of which were expensive and were insisting upon a canine inspection. After reading other 5-star reviews for Northeastern Exterminating, I decided to give them a call, and I'm glad I did. I explained my issue to Joe, who worked to calm my nerves about this situation and thoroughly explained everything that would occur with his company's home inspection, to be performed by his son, James.

I wanted an appointment ASAP, and although Joe could only offer me an appointment for several days later, he assured me that he would keep my number at the ready just in case they had a cancellation.

The night before my inspection, I received a text message from James confirming the time he would arrive, the price that was agreed upon, and simple instructions for how to prep for the inspection. The next morning, I received another text about an hour before the scheduled time to pinpoint the exact time he would be arriving - which is insanely helpful and courteous.

Upon arrival, right on time, James asked me about my situation and immediately got to work performing a thorough and comprehensive inspection of the three bedrooms in my house, from floor to ceiling. The bed, box springs, bed frames, baseboards, etc. everything was carefully inspected while he explained what he was doing, what he was looking for, and even what I could do in the future to put my mind at ease. He made sure to look at everything I asked him to, and could not have been more easygoing and professional.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Prompt, affordable, knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. On top of that, they are a family-run business, which is always a good thing. Give them a call and you will not be disappointed.

James came to the rescue again recently with another troubling pest situation. I didn't think twice about contacting him; I would never go to anyone else for help battling bugs in NYC. He has qualities that you never thought you needed in an exterminator: kindness, supportiveness, a calm demeanor, and responsive communication skills. He's transparent and fair in his pricing. And of course, he is an expert in his field and stands by his work (unlike some chain-owned pest-controlled companies). You can definitely feel confident that he'll get the job done. Joe's son, James, did the initial inspection and service. I found James to be extremely personable and understanding to the needs of our household. He was also very clear about what he was doing, looking for and why all decisions were made. After the first visit, James proactively kept in contact to check the status, which I greatly appreciated. As it turned out, our issue was completely resolved after the initial visit.

I would recommend this family-run business to anybody in the area in need of pest control service. They are fair, honest and genuinely want to build a relationship to understand their client's needs and provide excellent service.

I highly recommend Northeastern Exterminating Co. Inc. James sent me a quote within minutes of contact. I had a hornets nest under my awning. He sent me a quote and after assessing the job in person charged less than the quote estimated. He was fast, efficient and honest!

I've worked with James a few times, he is professional, efficient, and friendly. Most recently he came to spray for ants and was quick and communicative, and made sure we were informed and happy. Each time I've talked with him he's been generous with his knowledge and addresses the problem with skill. Thanks James and Northeastern!

I'm sure for most of you looking up exterminators you must be stressed. I know I was until I found these positive reviews and spoke to Northeastern. Joe was able to put me at ease right away - he is an expert! He reassured me that everything was going to be ok. He took the time to explain in detail the causes for termites and the treatment plans. He was patient, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to calm me down. He told me not to worry about it and to call him when I was ready to start the project. I was so relieved after speaking with Joe that I didn't call anyone else. A few days later I called Joe and we were able to get the inspection going right away. Joe's son, James, did the inspection for us. James was reliable, thorough and detailed. He called me after the inspection and explained everything to me and we moved forward with the extermination.

I am happy to say that we are an extremely happy customer - and termite free! I am telling everyone about this family owned business with 40+ years expertise! They are some of the most genuine, good-hearted people you'll ever meet who truly care about their customers and will treat you like family. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! :)

This company was excellent to work with. I called them at 2:30 pm after waiting hours and hours for another exterminator. They were able to set up an appointment that worked with my schedule for the following day (instead of my taking the whole day off from work).

John was prompt, thorough, and answered all my questions. He arrived when he said he would, finished when he said he would, told me exactly what to expect, and put my mind at ease about his work and my two dogs.


I would call these folks again in a second, and recommend them to everyone I know. Hopefully you don't need an exterminator, but if you do, I highly recommend this company.
