Agreed Most stores are closed, not much to see or do here anymore. So sad to see so many places we used to visit closing in San Francisco, for sure not the city I grew up with in the 70s, 80s, 90s, even well into the 2010 era..... last 5 years downward trend... not safe, not fun and dirty, total bummer

Mostly closed stores, not much to see or do here anymore. So sad that a nice little shopping area is no more.

I have been coming to this mall for so many years now. I am really disappointed that the Walgreens here closed--it used to be the store where I would usually frequent. Besides Walgreens, I usually go this mall to do some shopping at Safeway or GNC, eat lunch at Asia Chinese Food or Subway, or pick up a package at Postal Annex. I sometimes buy a lottery ticket at News City & Cigarettes. It's so convenient to have all of these services at one location in this part of the City.

I HATE the new automated parking machines here!!!
So this facility gets a solid 4 stars and I've been coming here for over 2 decades but, alas, last week they replaced the old automated parking machines with new, less efficient ones! The new machines have an almost indiscernible robotic woman's voice. Good god lady, speak up, speak clearly, because we can barely understand you!!!
What's more, "R2-D2ina" is about a foot shorter than her predecessor, which makes trying to get your ticket from you car window super difficult, unless you drive a sports-car. Add to that, as of this week, they still don't have the upstairs ticket machine operational yet. As a result, there's almost always a huge cue of cars waiting to exit the Northpoint Centre parking garage because they were unable to pre-pay! Gosh, do you think they could have thought of this BEFORE they switched payment systems?!?!?!
To add salt in the wound, the parking rate for a 100 minute validation has gone up to $9 in stead of $3, without ANY prior notice, whatsoever! TRIPLE, really?!??!?
Truly, an unorganized, epic parking garage FAIL!!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 29920908644Jun 21, 2011
There are two levels of parking here: short term on the ground level and long term parking is located on the second level/roof. This has been where we like to park when we come to the Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39 area (for the past decade). If you buy something at Safeway, you get validated parking, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than parking across the way from Pier 39 (crazy expensive). It's a short walk but it's still pretty convenient. Also, you can take some nice pictures from the roof of some of the vista points.
This little center is busy for a few reasons: 24 hour fitness, and Safeway (use your Von's card- it's the same grocery store). There are a few other little businesses here (the chinese restaurant was closed), as well as a public restroom (this is a single- so there will be a line- and I saw the Gold Man here too BTW, haha).
On Parking Payment: there used to be a person employed here, but they've since eliminated that position and also eliminated your cash payments as well- you can only use a debit or credit card.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 73410382545Dec 25, 2011
A two-story garage parking for consumer convenience! I like it and this means I don't even have to worry about parking on the streets and quarters for the meters. North Point Center is the best and it is within walking distance to/from Fisherman's Wharf.
One of the best places to go to when you're coming from Fisherman's Wharf.
This building houses:
- 24-Hour Fitness
- Safeway
- Walgreen's
- JP Morgan Chase
- Wells Fargo
North Point Center is certainly a one stop for taking care bank errands, grocery and pharmacy runs.
Wells Fargo Bank is in Safeway near the produce and floral area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Justin V.San Francisco, CA331Mar 10, 2018

I've been in line with The Gold Man, The Silver Man, a fit yoga pants wearing gal, and someone who keeps their money in a Zip Lock bag...in one visit.
I have:
-Seen a woman "shopping" with a brown paper bag and not a basket on Thanksgiving.
-Been behind a man singing a song about wearing super tight, slinky pants!
-Explained to an Italian tourist why we have electronic coupons (and realized how ridiculous it actually sounds!)
-Watched a Japanese visitor photographing pumpkins in awe
-Wished the Gold Man would do his routine for me right there in Safeway
All walks of life shop at North Point and I've come to appreciate this little mall for its wild diversity. Close to the Marina, the Embarcadero, and North Beach it is one of the only little convenient places that has lots of parking AND actually validates!! (Wha? Can't everyone do that!) It's got everything from Safeway, Walgreens, GNC, a shoe repair, beauty supply place to a RadioShack and 24 Hour Fitness. If there ever was a one-stop shopping in the City within a 1 block radius, this place is it!
I give it a 5 for the Best Slice of Life in SF, 4 by San Francisco mini-mall standards, a 3 anywhere else.

This is the "shopping mall", if you can call it as such, for the North Beach/Fisherman's Wharf area for those who live in the Northpoint Apartments and the surrounding domiciles. It is like a little touch of suburbia in the middle of the tourist trap area of the city.
It has its own parking lot, which is great, even if you have to pay a couple of bucks. In this neighborhood, especially in peak Tourist season, it is tough to find any parking. There is a pretty decent sized Safeway, with all the modern departments of most remodeled Safeways, with a Deli, Flowers, and Wells Fargo Bank mini-branch. Also in the mall is a Walgreen's, so you can get your meds and sundries. There are a handful of other shops.
And there is a 24 Hour Fitness Active facility here.
So you can work up a sweat on a treadmill, grab a sandwich for lunch, buy some groceries for dinner, and get some healing rub for your aching muscles, and some Prozac for your depression, all without moving your car or having to use your bus transfer!Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - Kristina S.Los Angeles, CA1182911Apr 25, 2010
Convenient, convenient, convenient. Let's see...what else is in there besides what Frances L. mentioned....a new beauty supply store, a shoe repair, there's Trader Joe's across the street and a Barnes & Noble just a block down...I think there's even an H&R Block if you need it...
If you're getting around by public transportation or just trying to cut down on the number of trips to get your errands done...this place is a gift.Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 1
