Good food, good service. Acoustics terrible. So loud. Music makes it worse. Have been twice. Same experience.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE
Victoria has a lot of breakfast/brunch places to choose from; if you're looking for good food, friendly service, a clean/modern atmosphere and reasonable prices - OEB should be at the top of your list!

My humble opinion:
- OEB beats everyone on creative plate names :)
- Blue Fox wins on food quality
- OEB wins on space and atmosphere.
- OEB, Jam, Shine, and Blue Fox are about equal for service.


=== 2. FOOD
Double Trouble Crostini ($19):
Bacon, cheese, and two eggs your way on crostini topped with greens (arugula primarily) - it's as easy and healthy as it sounds!

Belgian Waffle ($15):
Depending how you like your waffles - the one made here was crispy to the point of almost being like a crunchy cookie...? My tastebuds lean towards how Blue Fox and Shine make theirs...

Scrambled Crepe ($18.50):
Eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, and spinach - it looks small but packs a healthy punch!

Coffee is $4; kids' ("Future Foodies" as they are known here) drinks are $2.50.

The One That Did Not Get Away ($23):
An eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and spinach - yum!

Pitter Pancake (for kids - $11 incl. drink)
Two smaller pancakes served with butter and maple syrup - nice and fluffy - nice for the little ones!

Chasing Chickens Poutine ($19.75):
This goodness: two packed eggs atop cheese curds, herb potatoes (half of which you can change for arugula), smoked chicken, all covered in brown butter hollandaise sauce - my heart loved it until it stopped beating.

=== 3. SERVICE
Service has always been great - we seem to get Mari a fair amount and recommend her to everyone! Without a reservation on busy Sundays, we were also accommodated in short order thanks to their flexibility.

=== 4. ENVIRONMENT
It is modern, open air-ish and with a lot of space - better than all other brunch places in town. Sure, it's packed but it's popular for a reason. Bring groups big and small with ease - wheelchairs and baby strollers are welcome too! Parking is the only drawback - you're hunting for paid street parking or a parking garage if you're coming to OEB!

Delicious breakfast/brunch spot in Victoria! Made a reservation for my family and I and our expectations were exceeded. We received excellent service and every dish was served at the exact same time! Pretty hard to accomplish with our larger group of 12 but they nailed it. The food was spectacular. So fresh and flavorful with great creativity. I highly recommend stopping by for breakfast or brunch!

Got a threesome breakfast. Tasty combination. Ended up getting a side of toast to help wrap up the eggs. Maybe over well might have been better. Staff are friendly and helpful and keep an eye out for you. I got slotted into a two hander but it hit a little busy. Good choice for grabbing breakfast.

Outstanding meal and service. Definitely "Fills the Soul." Many items on the menu: bennies (full and half), sweeter pancakes/waffles/french toast, and unique twists on other breakfast dishes.

Love this place! the food, service, and ambiance were all on point! One member of our group has celiac and they totally worked around it - serving a benny on avocado at no extra charge! Always refreshing when restaurants take food allergies seriously. Way to go and thank you OEB! We will be back!

Being tourists from Seattle with kids and a nut allergy we were getting sick of sticking to heavy generic hotel breakfast. Found a fun booth table at OEB this am was so pleased! Fresh options, accommodated the allergy well, and my kids loved the smoothies! Will recommend and return when we come back!

I was excited to try OEB because I've heard great things about their head chef. I ordered brunch today off Uber eats from OEB and I was disappointed to say the least.
I ordered the classic breakfast and added a whole avocado to my order as well.
My toast was both stale and burnt, the potatoes were both unseasoned and burnt, the bacon was charred. I love some crispy almost burnt bacon but charred is crazy. On top of that, my eggs were undercooked and the yolk was all over the box it was delivered in and all over all the other food and I never received my avocado.
Would not recommend. Total waste of money.

Sorry but I'm not a fan. It seems all their Benedict's are made for mass production. I ordered a Moroccan benny and it came with a stack of croissant, eggs & hollandaise with duck & pomegranate seeds on the side. Looking at online photos, this seems to be how they do all their bennies - whatever makes it unique is on the side on top of the hashbrowns. I get that it allows them to streamline the orders but I don't want a deconstructed benny.

First time at OEB today and I will be back often. My new favorite breakfast/lunch/brunch location. Bright, open, warm ambiance, great staff and the menu is unique. From basic breakfast to decadent. The breakfast poutines are delicious and the perfect portion.... Plus... great coffee! Many breakfast restaurants fall short on coffee.
There is so much on the menu that I can't wait to try. Great addition to the Victoria food scene.
