Oilstop Drive Thru Oil Change

This Oil Stop is a mixed bag. It has decent prices (about $100 for an oil change). Its service is fair. The workers a mostly polite although they do try to upsell products and services. I once came in here and had the same guy try and sell me four different services that I never asked for. The last time I came on a Saturday afternoon, I waited close to 40 minutes without anyone doing anything to the car. Some workers must have gone early. It's not anyone's fault, but it's also not good customer service. I may return but I'm not enthusiastically recommending this place. I'm sure there's a better business for oil changes.

Just had a fantastic experience here. I have never said that of an oil change service before. Service tech Nathan was awesome. 10/10. He handled my service from start to finish. Excellent customer service, engine knowledge, and the service was completed in less than 30min. I was very impressed.

I bring my car here everytime it needs oil somehow I always get Matt he's a great guy so helpful explains everything nice people here

Took my truck here recently for an oil change. Started to hear a weird noise near the front of my vehicle when going over bumps after the oil change. The techs at this shop didn't install the skid plate correctly now I'm missing two bolts. This is fast and convenient but lacks reliability and attention to detail. My wife also had a similar issue when they didn't tighten the oil filter and it was leaking oil all over the engine bay. Will try my luck with a different shop. Do not recommend. As you can see the manager responded to my post below. The only communication I received was a coupon. Avoid this place if you care about your vehicle.

This place did an oil change for me and when serving my vehicle , they took off the gravel shield and did not screw it back on. Hence to say, the shield was dragging on the street. I brought my car to the dealer , who told me that the last place that did my oil change (Oil Stop), did not screw it back on. I contacted the owner (Jordan), and explained my situation. All I wanted was for him to pay the $65 fee I was charged by the dealer to fix my car.
He didn't feel it was Oil Stops fault.
I will not be going back to this place.

First yelp review ever, but just irritated enough to take the time to post this.

Upselling interruptions and long wait times I can deal with (I know the drill) but for the third time in a row they slopped oil when changing the filter or draining/adding oil, which then drips onto my otherwise nice driveway at home. Attempts to scrub the stains out are only partially successful. I have asked them the last two times to be more careful, but if that is too difficult at least wipe down spills if they occur. Each time they earnestly promise to be more careful (or at least the guy I'm dealing with through my window...not sure the guy in the service bay underneath my truck is getting the word) but today was worse than the previous two times.

I am forced to implement my three strike policy, and won't be going back.

I wanted to reach out as I had a very disappointing Oil stop experience on 8/20/22 at the Petaluma location.

I went in for a normal oil change and unfortunately left there with more issues than I arrived with. Immediately after leaving, I got a check engine light and my car starting running very poorly. I spent the next half of my day checking for codes and found multiple failures by the Oil Stop staff, please see below.

1. They left my oil fill cap very loose and not tightened down properly, until it clicks. I had to spin it two times fully around to tighten it completely.

2. They checked and replaced my engines air filter (which was needed) but left the air intake hose partially disconnected allowing dirty unfiltered air into my car's engine. This also caused a check engine code and very rough idle due to the MAF sensor reading incorrect air volume.

3. The Oil stop staff also replaced my vehicle's cabin air filter (which was needed) but left dirt and a ton of leaves in the air box before installing the new filter, which makes no sense because your just dirtying up the new filter as soon as it was installed.

4. They did not tighten the screws properly on anything they touched. The air box bolts were very loose and the rubber bushings were left out and were just sitting under the hood. They also over tightened the cabin air filter screw causing them to strip the plastic threads out. They should be using a screw driver and not a impact drill on these small screws.

5. Overall, I had a terrible experience at Oil Stop. They never mentioned they would be pulling my engines airbox out of the vehicle and also they carelessly put everything back together causing multiple check engine codes and causing my BMW to run poorly with a very rough idle. My entire day was spent trying to figure out what was wrong with my car. Luckily I was able to put everything back on my own and thankfully the check engine light immediately went away after spinning the oil fill cap on all the way and after putting my car's air intake hose back on the air box.

To conclude, the only thing I wanted was an oil change and instead I left with a very poor running car with a check engine light and a $260 bill. Luckily for me, I'm mechanically inclined and was able to fix my car myself, but I'm worried about this happening to someone who would have had to take their car to the dealership or independent mechanic and be stuck with a huge repair bill just because oil stop employees can't put things back on correctly and the way they were before they touched them.

I would really appreciate if your team would be able to honor a refund for this unfortunate experience I had. The lack of professionalism and general care for cars by the Petaluma staff was extremely disappointing.

Absolutely amazing. Great attitudes and communication. Very organized. Fair prices.
I work for a dealer and could get it cheaper but this is worth it.

Stopped by for a quick oil change. Waited around 45 minutes due to short staffing.
The person who waited on me was polite and knowledgeable. However he tried endlessly to up sell expensive oil. I told him what oil I wanted in my engine and he finally agreed after 10 minutes of arguing. I was also charged extra for an oil filter because it wasn't a spin on filter. I then asked if it was an OEM filter and he said yes. In the end it wasn't an OEM and was told it was the same quality as the manufacturer suggests. So now I have a cheap filter in my car.
The oil change ended up costing around $117 including a $10 military discount.
The hard selling of different products was relentless. All I wanted was my oil changed.
Can't imagine the cost if I hadn't been firm.
So the overall experience was one of stress and the feeling of being manipulated. I honestly cannot recommend this place.

The employees here are hard working, polite and respectful. They went above and beyond what I expected. Thank you for making this oil change experience stress free!
