I live for Ole chicken - honestly, it's so good. I usually get the sweet chilli chicken wings (boneless is more crispy, bone-in more juicy) and the seafood pancake. One night I was home alone while my boyfriend met friends for food so I ordered a bunch of Ole for myself and was caught picking it up by my boyfriend who had suggested for his friends to meet there. We can't stay away.

      Very good, much yum.

My boyfriend and I were staying nearby and needed a place to eat for late night. So glad this place was open! The workers here were so kind! The older woman that came out to give us our food made our entire night. She was so sweet & grateful that we came.

The food was pretty good. We enjoyed the pork dish a lot! There was only one more party in the restaurant with us.

      Cheese tteokbokki
      Soy garlic chicken
      Yogurt Soju

I loved this place! The cheese tteokbokki was so good and they were perfectly chewy. The sauce wasn't too spicy (had a tiny kick) so it was easy to enjoy. The dish is packed with rice cakes and fish cakes and loaded with cheese on top! I would have liked it if the cheese was more melted but it was still delicious.

The soy garlic chicken was also juicy and crispy. Although I don't think the soy garlic flavour came out a lot (it was mostly like a sweet glaze) dipping it in the tteokbokki sauce made it a perfect combo.

This housemade yogurt soju was so good! I would say it definitely tasted nothing like alcohol and I definitely did feel any buzz from it. It tasted exactly like yakult so if you want a big bottle of yakult, this is the drink for you.

Atmosphere: Our servers were so nice! We joked around a little bit and their positive attitude definitely made the whole experience better. They have projectors playing kpop music videos on the wall but the music wasn't too loud so you could listen along if you wanted to or still have a good time chatting with your friends. The place is a little bit hidden, located right beside little cafe on robson is their door which can be easily missed. Once you enter you have to walk up the stairs to reach the restaurant.

Extra: Check their happy hour times for 50% off one dish! If you're a student, the 50% applies all day!

Our trio reserved a table during Friday's happy hour. Tucked in the corner, we had a great, comfy time enjoying our meal and company. The place had a really lively atmosphere, seems to be very popular with the young crowd that time of night.

We ordered 2 types of fried chicken platters -excellent flavour and cooked well, tender and big slices too. The army stew had fantastic broth, enticing kick and large slices of tofu and sausages.

Service mildly spotty but overall a pleasant experience.

You come here to drink as they open late especially on weekends. Like all drinking holes, you don't come here for the food.

Soju and makgeolli is about $15-16 so a few bucks cheaper than some places.

If you set your expectations right about one of the few places that are open till 1 am in Vancouver, you'll appreciate the venue and you won't be too disappointed.

Authentic Korean street and comfort food. The fried chicken was hot and tasty although the steamed egg was a bit watery. Service was quick and attentive. Good value for the money.

Went here twice during my week long trip in Vancouver, first time got here 30 minutes before closing and they said they had already called the last call on food (understandable). Second time I came 1 hour and 45 minutes till they closed and they said they had called the last call on food 5 minutes ago. First off WTF second off update your hours online if you're an establishment pulling this. I'm super angry and will never even try to come back

We were visiting Vancouver for a few days, and this place was a block away, so we decided to try it. Short version: we liked it so much, we had it two nights in a row!

      Long version:
The first night we stopped in around five, and there weren't many diners. We wondered if that was a bad sign, but decided to give it a shot because they were playing Kpop videos and we're big fans. Anyway, we ordered half & half garlic soy and yangnyeom boneless wings and soju, all new to us. It. Was. Delicious. We ordered more chicken and more soju (as you do), and by the time we were finishing up the place was about 2/3 full. We left very happy with the whole experience!

The following night, we felt like staying in, so we placed a takeout order. We got the yangnyeom again (SO addicting) and decided to try the plain version as well. The yangnyeom was still fantastic, but the plain, although delightfully crunchy, was essentially flavorless. The was a mayonnaise-based dipping sauce, but we found it unappealing. So that was unfortunate, but we were only a little sad.

Final result: now we're back home in Portland and on a fruitless search to find Korean fried chicken that's even close to as good as Ole. It just doesn't exist, but we keep trying. Consolation prize: we found a place that sells soju! (Side note to the Ole owners: if you want to open a Portland location, we will help keep you in business!)

Best Korean Fried chicken I've had. I don't understand why people are saying bad things about this place because it's perfect for dinner and late night hangouts.

We ordered half and half boneless fried chicken. Half yangyeom and half soy garlic. The yangyeom sauce was really addictive and sweet. Could probably eat that sauce with anything. The half soy garlic needed more garlic flavour. My biggest issue with the chicken was that it was more batter than chicken. The portion was big for the price but wouldn't go back again for the boneless chicken.

The kimmari was kind of a rip off, but the fried chicken certainly made up for it! We had the sweet chilli and garlic soy flavours, and for $26 you can get a whole plate of delicious fried chicken!
