I was told I need to pay in advance to sit on the patio. That's discrimination. There is no "logical" reason to have me pay first other than you thinking I'm going to dine and dash. Racists.

The sushi was cold like the sushi you buy in a grocery store. Sushi rice is supposed to be warm when you make sushi and you really can't make it with cold rice. This sushi was obviously made the night before and it tasted it. Well, it was bland and flavorless. The tempura with made with some kind of strange oil which made the flavor of the vegetables a bit off. The side salad was decent. The staff was easily rattled. I asked for a different table and the waitress looked like I had accosted her. It was not a very good experience overall.

Good sushi spot I visited a few times during my trip this year. Solid roll selection, plus the salmon avocado rolls are quite big. It can take some time for food to arrive, as it's a small staff doing quite a bit in the back (they get a LOT of big take-out orders) but the dine-in experience is solid. Nice view of Burrard Street as well.

The best sushi in Vancouver. The food is fantastic, and the employees are very friendly.

This restaurant looks bigger from the outside, I was actually surprised at how little seating was available. The space was very bright from the windows facing Burrard street. The newly vacated tables were left with empty dishes for longer than you would expect, even though it wasn't all that busy. Overall though, this establishment (including the washroom) was very clean.
I found the prices were a little bit high based on the amount of food you get. This was most obvious with the Sashimi, in which 8 pieces cost me closer to $20 once upgrading to the Wild Sockeye. I could have gotten a 12 pieces Sashimi sampler for the same price? This was confusing because I had done a little price research on their website before going and I believe the prices on the do not match what is in the menu? However, the pieces of Tuna and Sockeye that I did get were cut sharply, large size and served on a bizarre block of shaved ice.
The staff were polite but not that attentive. I received no spontaneous water or tea refills and I had to ask for my bill a couple of times. It also wasn't clear if you had to pay at the front or if they would bring the machine around. I ended up going to the cashier at the front.
Overall, willing to give their service another shot because the food itself was great.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Stella W.Calgary, Canada01Apr 14, 2023

Originally, I wanted to go to the ones across the street as it was cheaper, but they didn't feel like places I would sit down and eat in. This place however was brightly lit, spacious, and welcoming. Now... I have no idea why I would go to a sushi restaurant and not order sushi but bear with me.
The appetizer tempura is a great option out of all the tempura options with 2 ebi, 2 squash, and 1 asparagus stalk. You get a variety of different things at only $5.5. It was battered unevenly with some parts getting a lot, and others sparsely. Apart from that, it was decent.
The chicken karaage here is different than what I usually have. The pieces are big but suffers the same issue as the tempura, lots of batter. With each bite, I get a soft squish instead of a good crisp crunch. It is close to bland by itself and the only thing giving it flavour is the sweet and sour sauce to the side. Perhaps some seasoning on the chicken could save it, like salt and pepper. I would skip out on getting this.
For around $11 before tax and tips, it was alright. The service was friendly and fast. Perhaps I should stick with the sushi next time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Patricia B.Vancouver, Canada75136Nov 15, 2018
