Outdoor Adventure Club

My friend introduced me to OAC on our first backpacking trip on the Lost Coast Trail. I knew we were on a great adventure when I met our guide, Mike and the other OAC members. This trip is an unforgettable experience that no words can do justice to my feelings and thoughts of my journey. It is a bucket list check off for sure and a milestone in my life. It was more than a backpacking trip, the conversations and scenery made me reflect on me, my life, and what's important moving forward. My husband is now eager to backpack and join OAC after my stories and pictures of my journey.

I appreciate our guide, Mike Boyd. WOW! I'm in awe of how he led us (with a very heavy bag and a big smile) in situations that others might doubt whether we would even make it to our next camping spot, however, he did with his grit, determination, patience, and love.

With our teamwork and collaboration plus sense of humor and the motto of "never leaving the team behind" made me realize why OAC is so special. I will definitely keep in touch with Mike, Richard, and some of the OAC members. Who knows I might see them again on our next adventure. I highly recommend joining OAC and start making memories.

Richard Bothwell leads amazing avalanche education programming (AIARE 1, Rescue) and the entire team of guides are absolutely top-notch. Plus, just joyous wonderful people who are a pleasure to spend a day in the outdoors with! Each guided trip is a collaborative learning experience, along with generous supplementary education & wisdom pre- and post-trip.

If you want to explore new places while building the skills to be competent in the outdoors, the OAC is your one-stop shop!

We met 7 of the MOAC group this past week while paddling the Allagash Waterway in northern Maine. Great group of folks who we kept encountering through the week. We shared a site on the last night and they treated us to some fine cuisine.
If you want to get outtdoors with some knowledgeable and friendly people, I recommend going on one of their adventures.

I started attending OAC events for the first time in 2022 and so far I've done 4 day hikes, 4 backpacking trips in Yosemite, and 1 weekend hiking/camping trip with them. (Haven't done any of their snow or climbing events yet, but I am signed up for their avalanche rescue class.) My experiences with them have been fantastic. The guides are friendly and knowledgeable, the other attendees are friendly, and the hikes and backpacking trips are well thought out and interesting. Of course not everything always goes perfectly--sometimes it's cold at night or sneaky raccoons try to raid tents and packs to steal food. I'm sure it will rain on a trip eventually (though it hasn't rained on the OAC trips I've done so far). And on one backpacking trip the guide didn't bring enough of the best dessert for everyone to have 2nd helpings. But I've had a great time on every trip.

Attended my first backpacking trip with OAC to Pt Reyes recently, guided by Richard. Highly recommend this company and look forward to another trip with them in the future.

I recently joined a backcountry weekend (skiers and splitboarders) based out of Mineral. We toured 2 days in Lassen NP. I can say that our guides (Emily and Mark) went above and beyond to get us (group of 7) well fed, on the best terrain and awesome pow turns. Both days were a full day tour and we mastered tricky turns, traverses and all in between thanks to the team! The cabin in Mineral is a gem of its own with a large dinner/ living room area for tour debriefs and snow discussions. Can highly recommend! I've been on multiple tours with the OAC and it is always fun and well organized.

We went on a backpacking trip with these guys and it was just unbelievable. Our guide Beth was simply incredible. We'd definitely go on another trip with them.

I've known about Outdoor Adventure Club for quite a few years but only had my first trip / class with them this past weekend. Better late then never!

I signed up for AIARE 1 refresher (Avalanche education) at Lassen Volcanic park. The club has a cozy cabin in the town of Mineral and it made for a comfortable base camp for our weekend. We had two groups share the house and with 10 people it didn't feel crowded at all.

The whole experience was amazing, from the communication leading to the weekend, preparation and throughout the whole weekend I learned so much from Richard Bothwell who led our course.

I met great people who are enthusiastic about the outdoors as I am... and it exceeded my expectations in many ways.

I will be looking to sign ufor more activities with OAC In the future.

Excellent day hike with the OAC and my first since the pandemic began. Wel-planned and Chad was a fantastic guide. I look forward to my next event with the OAC.

Just finished another wonderful backpacking trip to Ostrander Lake with OAC. Our guide Forrest was extremely knowledgable and was super encouraging and helpful when we covered terrain that was new to some of us.

Every trip I have completed with OAC has included top notch guides. They have a wealth of knowledge, are encouraging, cook up AMAZING meals (with lots of fresh ingredients) and will always have your back!

If you are new to backpacking, haven't been in awhile, or just want to hang out with great people, I highly recommend signing up for a trip with OAC.
