Pacific Auto Trim and Glass

In early February I was referred to Pacific Auto Trim by MCL for a windshield replacement. At this time I confirmed with MCL that they had the windshield in stock.

The referral was useful given that the car also needs a new headliner as well. 1 place.. 2 repairs... I thought it would be efficient. I was very wrong..

I went to them, with a sample of the headliner along with the ICBC claim number for the windshield. George was helpful and was able to match the headliner material.

The elderly receptionist was struggled to write down the claim number and eventually I did it for her. I explained that they need to bring in the windshield from MCL and that they had the part in stock. I gave her all the information to make everything a smooth process.

After about 1 week I called them to ensure they had secured the parts for the windshield replacement. They said they'd get right back to me... but no returned call. This went on for 6 weeks as I called once per week and was told I'd get a call right back... but still no call.

Finally after the 7th call I got a call back from the glass person. The thing is this... when I spoke to him, it was as though we had not spoken before... he claimed that he had found the claim under a pile of old claims and thought it a good idea to call me back... I was stunned.

WORSE, It appears MCL no longer has the windshield in stock. The fact that multiple people knew the windshield was there and did nothing is simply mind-blowing.

Even after sending in an email to George clearly explaining my frustration... no call back... no email.

Honestly... take your car any place but here.

Wow, exceptional service from the initial phone call to the in-person visit. Had a problem with my girlfriend's convertible Porsche. They diagnosed it quickly, explained the problem to me in simple terms, and ordered the parts while I waited. All with no appointment! Such great service; I LOVE these guys!
PS I will tell EVERYONE I know.

Sadly, I had my car broke into via the rear side window. Not being a fan of ICBC's incompetently, mismanaged monopoly I went online to find out the correct process. Imagine my delight to find Pacific Auto trim on the next block from my workplace. I went in at opening, Jason walked me through the process and said it would be done that day. Sure enough I got called later, walked over, signed three places on the form and paid my deductible to him before driving home. Friendly, polite and transparent service with great workmanship.

It was the most horrible experience ever. I am a car guy and I know good from bad. I took my Mercedes 280SL (1972) in for a soft top replacement and a new windshield and to touch up the dash trim. This is what happen

Windshield
Nothing happens for 2 weeks. The car just sat there. First windshield they say was cracked from dealer. I air lift a new one in. They manage to bust that and I have to wait for a new one. Also they scratched the hell out of the new chrome trim I ordered. Finally I took it to vision glass and it was done in 30 mins.

Soft top
They are suppose to be the expert but the new top when I pic up car has gaps and ill fitting. When I ask them, they just shrugged their shoulders

Trim
In summary, I have about 10 spots which need repair but they only did 2. Again, on questioning....no answer. They promise to refit a wood trim and keep telling me "it will be done". At the end of 6 weeks, "sorry, we can't do it" (even though I have supplied all instructions and hardware)

All in all, my car was there for 6 weeks. Most of the times gathering dust. When I pick up car, the radio was not working. Questioning? "I don't know" is the answer. Also there was a short with the entrance lights in the car (note: they are suppose to be experts here) and they weren't going to tell me until I confront them. So they spend 60 Mins trying to fix it.

In the end I have to take car back to Mercedes dealer to have everything fix

They are a chop shop. Te reason they get referrals is because of the old owner Lou who sold already.

Dave and his team are very professional. I had my first Jag XF's windshield replaced by them a few years ago. Then recently, my XFR also needed the heated windshield replaced. Dave explained to me how best to get my windshield claim setup so the proper work can be done on my car. I have a jet headliner and they cleaned it well without having any finger prints on the liner. They know the cars as MCL would comfortably recommend customers to go there for auto glass work. I would strongly recommend this glass and trim shop to anyone.

My Mazda Miata soft top had been vandalized (slashed open) while parked in a parking lot downtown. Went to ICBC and they did the claim and recommended this shop. I had heard about this shop before when I worked at Porsche Center Vancouver and also from friends who work at auto shops that send their business to Pacific Auto Trim.

Pros:

+ car was fixed within 1 day (9am drop off; 4:30pm phone call ready to pick up)
+ friendly staff and receptionist
+ shop clean and tidy
+ vacuumed carpets/mats

Cons:

- had to call shop and ask if my replacement top had arrived yet or not (they said around 10 business days they would call me and it had been around 15) they said it had arrived but did not call me due to the shop being too busy (assuming if I did not call them to ask, I would still be waiting to get my car repaired....)

- damaged my roll bar during installation, small chips off paint and sticker on bar (I had noticed after 1 week when I put the top down for the first time)

- top does not sit flush by the center of the windshield (does not leak, more of an aesthetics thing)

- some sort of chemical left on the windshield that did not come off with regular window cleaner and microfiber (had to use some 0000 steel wool to get it off)

- left bits of metal by driver side carpet between seat and door sill (missed during vacuum)

Good shop to go to. Would still recommend but not fully happy with fitment and treatment to the interior of my car.

We stopped into Pacific Auto and Glass after our car was broken into. We were visiting from out of town, and our car window was smashed and items stolen from our car. We walked into the garage because the door was open, but it was after hours. The staff at Pacific Auto and Glass were extremely kind and helpful and spent 20-30 minutes assisting us. They vacuumed our car and covered our window. Highly recommend! Thanks again, Pacific Auto and Glass for all of your help!

First class customer service and work. They have replaced 2 of my convertible roofs over the last 20 years. I highly recommend them!

This company was highly recommended to me by two sources I trusted to replace my convertible top on my 1999 Mustang. They were very professional and efficient. Several months after the top was installed and spring came I had some difficulty being able to latch the top easily. They asked me to bring it in and they took it apart and adjusted it while I waited. It took two hours, but I was happy to not have to come back again another day. There was no charge for the adjustment and they were very pleasant to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reputable company that does quality workmanship and stands behind their work without a hassle.
