Tight spaces, confusing entrances, a mysterious dead end, coin operated, broken EV charges and dark and gloomy is this underground garage.

The parking spaces are very tight. Even if you drive a compact car you will have to have the body of an acrobat to get in and out of your car. I'm not sure who designed these spaces but it was likely a bean counter with a healthy salary.

Confusing entrances. Apparently there are two. I was very confused when one was shut down for the day. I guess it doesn't take much to confuse me - but in my defense it was my first time to this fine establishment.

A mysterious dead end plagues this garage. Drive down it and you will be stuck and bewildered as to your next move. A road that goes to nowhere. Now you've been warned to follow the signs in the garage.

Coin operated parking garage. I've never seen that in my life. Usually you get a ticket and it gets printed out with the date and time you entered. I have no idea how that information gets assigned to your coin. 8th wonder of the world.

Broken EV chargers. If you drive an EV you might count on this working here. Range anxiety is still a thing with EV drivers. Likely it has no blame on the garage itself and is probably more an issue with the provider of the chargers.

The garage is underground. Its dark and gloomy and there is no sunlight anywhere. Somehow very disorienting. Furthermore when you go to the elevators a door shuts behind you and as your waiting for the elevators your in this area of very stuffy thick air.

Once you get out of the elevators your in the main plaza right where you likely want to be - which is the big plus of parking here.

As of 4/6/2024, it cost $1 for every 20 minutes so $3 for 1 hour compared to $2 for 1 hour for street parking. Unfortunately, it can be very difficult to find street parking in Chinatown especially during the day. This parking garage is nicely located in the middle of Chinatown and should be walking distance to wherever you need to go in Chinatown.

The parking spots in this garage are narrow and a lot of the spots near the elevators are usually taken. It might be worth parking a little bit farther where there's less cars and to make getting in and out of the parking spot easier. Be careful as some areas inside the garage are dead ends.

Don't lose the yellow coin token. You will need it when you pay in person at the cashier booth or at the self pay stations near the elevators on the street level inside the Pacific Renaissance Plaza. You only have 15 minutes to leave the garage once you pay.

The parking spaces are kind of tight throughout this garage due to their efforts to maximize the number of cars that could be parked here. You can no longer find someone in the parking area for assistance. In the pay in person booth in the plaza, the ladies behind the windows are never friendly. The only plus is that there are more self-pay stations available so you don't have to deal with any human. Also, the exit I'll take credit cards as well..

All the electric chargers throughout this garage are always out of service. What's the point of having them?

Convenient parking and reasonable pricing for the Chinatown area and close by, now that free street parking is history and metered parking time has to be monitored. I recommend this underground parking structure. The only thing to watch out for is the "token" system instead of the usual paper/cardboard ticket when you enter. Don't lose it!

This parking place is awful! I wish there was another parking place available. The prices are ridiculous now and the service is soooo bad. We paid for parking but forgot to get the token. When we went back to get it it was gone. We went to the cashier and showed them out ticket that we paid but they said the policy is without a token we have to pay $42. So stupid!!

Located in the heart of Oakland's Chinatown, the Pacific Renaissance Plaza Parking is the main garage serving Oakland's Chinatown. You access the garage via two entrances, on 9thand 10th streets. Went entering, you will receive a yellow coin, which you will utilize to pay for your parking at the pay station.

The three underground levels are clean and there was security driving around the garage. I had an appointment in the Plaza and it was convenient to be able to park here and not have to park in the streets. Parking is very reasonable at $1 for each half hour. You place you plastic coin into pay machine and pay by cash or credit and the plastic coin is returned to you, which you place into exit gate machine to leave.

A nice parking lot in the heart of Chinatown at very reasonable rates.

Came by the other day to eat in Oakland Chinatown and parked here. There are 2 entrances on either side of the garage for easy entry and exit.

Upon entering, pick up a yellow plastic coin and pay for parking before going back to the car! There is a 15 minute grace period from the time of payment to the time of departure.

      $1/half hour. Credit cards accepted!

Parking garage has multiple floors underground and is always spotless and safe with security roaming around the garage!

The EV charging station has been out of order years now. The plaza and community would benefit from encouraging EVs in Chinatown. Less pollution, improve health, draw in more business, and help mitigate climate change.

First I want to comment on previous comments made about having to pay a full day's fee if you lose the coin they give you (vs a ticket). Every garage has this policy in place! If you lose your ticket (in this case, your coin), you're going to have to pay for the full day. How do they know if you stayed 30 minutes or 8 hours or overnight? Then anyone can park there for a full day and just say they lost their ticket or coin and only parked an hour. Come on! Use your head here guys.

This parking garage is decent enough, nothing to complain and nothing to rave about. It is centrally located in Oakland downtown and Chinatown. I wouldn't use it as parking for a full day but if you need to be conveniently located to where you are going and only parking for a short time, this garage is fine.

Soooo I got tired of driving around looking for a parking space in Chinatown, so I decided to drive into this parking structure. The parking prices is not that bad -- I mean I been to parking structures that cost way more. Every 30 mins was $1... I was only parked here for 1 hr 15min and it came out to $3.00 -- I thought I would get charged $2.50, but nope. I recommend you to keep track of what time you enter the structure! I also suggest you to stay for each of the full 30mins cause you get charged the full 30min even if you stayed less (if that made any sense). Well there's plenty of parking spaces, so just park here if you are struggling to find street parking. Remember to pay at the machine before you go to your car, but you can also pay when you exit too! Just don't lose your parking token!
