Paradise Lost is a hidden treasure in the heart of New York! This kitschy tropical bar offers an immersive and fun atmosphere with its vibrant décor and cool vibes. The drinks are creative and expertly crafted, each one a delightful escape to paradise. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and made our visit enjoyable. The drinks can be strong depending on your selection, so pay attention to the skulls on the menu. This place is amazing!! I love tiki bars and Paradise Lost did not disappoint. The entry is speak easy style and its easy to miss the door. Everything in the bar is so artistically done. No detail is left out with the seating, lighting and decor. The menus are custom and beautiful and each drink has its own special set of garnishes and swizzle sticks a few even had printed figures.

Service was fantastic. Our server came by often and had great recommendations for drinks and food. Some drinks also came with a fire show which was fun for everyone in the bar.

Our table had a fantastic time and left with some fun mugs. We'll certainly be back.

Top of my list when it comes to the vibes. Oh, and the workers are awesome, too.

Your first steps into Paradise Lost send you straight to Lord of the Flies. It's anarchy, it beautiful, it's chaos. The balance between being in paradise, but also being in survival mode is imminent. I love it.

When I say it feels like Lord of the Flies I am not being hyperbolic. To me, the ambience of Paradise lost tells a story. A good one at that. The workers presentations are patchy, rugged, abrasive. Just like adult kids that were raised on a stranded island. But, because they are stranded on a tropical oasis surrounded by booze morale is high. Everyone works seamlessly together to churn out solid elixirs to the stranded patrons. An all time vibe, in my opinion.

I was on a bar crawl and only ended up snagging 1 drink. I got the six five no jive. It was not my favorite cocktail, but that is because I am not a big cognac drinker. I was intrigued by the cream soda syrup and wanted it to shine through a bit more.

The bartenders were kind enough to make some small talk about some of their techniques which I appreciated. I am a bit of a cocktail nerd and am always wanting to learn more. Next time I am in new york, another trip to paradise lost is a must.

I'm so happy I got to check out this amazing bar!

Came here with a group of friends one Saturday and was pleasantly surprised! I had just googled a bar for us to go to and didn't realize I had picked a gem!

I love the surprises as soon as you walk through the door. We were greeted by the super nice hostess that instructed us to walk down the tropical hallway. She met us by the door and we were promptly seated. The decor of the place makes it so fun! Everywhere I looked, there was something new that I was able to spot out that made this place unique.

We don't get to eat here due to the kitchen being closed but we ordered drinks. I appreciated that the menu displayed how strong the drinks were. Each drink we had was delicious.

Go to the bathroom for another surprise!

      We enjoyed our visit!

Just a very cool spot. Drinks are expensive but you're getting the whole experience and atmosphere with that cost. Would recommend

Super fun date spot!!! It is expensive so come prepared to drink and spend money. 20+ bucks per drink. The vibes are fun and dark which I loved. The drinks were so strong too! The waiters are super fun and friendly.

Made a reservation for 4 people and had an awesome time here. Vibe is very fun and the decor is outrageous. I tried:

      + Blind dragon
      + Demerara dry float
      + Bat out of hell
      + Lady of the beasts
      + Pina colada
      + Pearl diver

      The wins:
The Demerara dry float was by far the best drink, followed by the blind dragon and the bar out of hell. Pearl Diver was solid, too.

      The misses:
The Lady of the beasts was the giant on-fire one you see in all the photos, but I actually thought it was the worst of the bunch. The pina colada was also too bitter for me, so I wouldn't get that again.

      The food:
Only tried the spam musubi, but it was great!

From the moment you descend through the jungle walkway, you quickly realize this is not your typical tiki bar.

For all the eye-widening decor and the regularly scheduled bar pounding tiki chants, the biggest star of this show is still the drinks.

Yes, they may be premium priced, but they are masterfully well-crafted and pack quite the punch.

The drink menu runs the gamut of offerings--you will find no less than three things you love. My favorites were the Surf Demon and the Blind Dragon.

Plus, I highly recommend the popcorn.

I'll be back as soon I'm back in the city. Can't wait.

P.S. The audio they have in the bathrooms is creepy AF lol.

Been wanting to come here for a while and finally decided to trek over. This place is a fun tiki bar nestled at the center of the 9th circle of hell themed. The decor and theme was all on point. The menu is extensive and I don't think you can go wrong with many of the options.

For snacks, my friend and I tried the musabi and the spudlets. The food was so interesting, but would def say the drinks are where this place shines.

The venue is medium sized with the tables for bigger parties of 4 and up. We sat at the bar but all the bartenders were super friendly. Def a fun place to check out!

Paradise found in this wonderful, eclectic speak-easy with awesome drinks, decor, and service. The most creative tropical drink menu I've ever seen. Don't miss the opportunity to get a live show when you order a flaming drink!
Pay attention to the picture of the door or you might have trouble locating this East Village Oasis.

A wonderful and unique NYC speakeasy experience! First of all...love the theme! Basically it's like a fun little tiki bar nestled at the center of the 9th circle of hell haha. The attention to detail is incredible - you'll even hear an interesting recording in the bathroom that adds to the atmosphere.

The drinks were incredible and so unique. I got the bottomless pit and the seventh circle swizzle, both of which refreshing and yummy. And of course, the drinks themselves were very instagrammable. For instance the bottomless pit was smoking for about a solid 30 seconds, and my friend got a drink that was set on fire.

The food was also so good. My friend and I got the musabi and the spudlets to share. The food was so interesting. The spudlets in particular were a wonderful mix of sweet and savory.

As expected from a speakeasy, the entrance can be easy to miss and there is no clear sign. Just look for an interesting insignia and that would be the place to be. All in all, definitely a new favorite
