I got the blueberry soy matcha on the very last day it was available. Normally I love a good strawberry matcha latte and I know Paragon always good quality drinks so I know I wouldn't be disappointed. I loved this drink! The use of real blueberries was a super nice touch to the drink and made it taste really fresh. The matcha quality was also great as always.
I got the regular bubble waffle to pair with the drink. It was crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle so overall a good classic bubble waffle. It wasn't too special so I think you could find similar anywhere. I want to try their other more special bubble waffles next time like the mochi or tea infused ones! (Although they get quite expensive - almost the price of a drink)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 29, 2024
I came here to get their promotional popcorn and chocolate collabs! I also got a Thai milk bubble tea since I love their teas.
I got the jasmine green tea popcorn and strawberry jasmine chocolates! The popcorn is interesting. Sweet yet slightly bitter. There's an ample amount of coating on each popcorn. Not something I would get again, especially for the price, but it was decent.
The chocolate I would definitely not get again. It's really waxy and doesn't melt properly in your mouth.. it doesn't feel like you're eating chocolate. My soft mouth did not enjoy the texture. The flavours are there though and it's much better if you chew it.
Even though it wasn't my goal, the star is of course the Thai milk tea. Absolutely delicious! Perfect amount of tea flavour and sweetness. I prefer their houjicha but this was just as good! The pearls are average.
Service was amazing. The shop is really small and hot though. There aren't many seats in there as well so you'll most likely have to enjoy your goods elsewhere. Luckily there's a nice outdoor street patio nearby.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 1 - Yong C.Los Angeles, CA33712Apr 24, 2024
I'm a coffee guy vs tea if forced to choose. Have to say if I were to reside in Vanxouver, I'd be a regular here. Think he was the owner but his sense of pride in the process that goes into making the various tea based drinks was clearly felt. I got the Oolong Hong Kong style tea and my wife ordred one of the Matcha teas and both were fantastic.
Highly recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 19, 2024
I wanted to love this place and it was ok. I found the matcha very light. Maybe I just prefer it stronger. The matcha cookie was good but not great. Maybe I was expecting too much. I definitely think we should have a good matcha tea room here in van and will keep looking.

The best hojicha in town! You can really taste the quality in their tea/lattes and I like how they use oat milk. I've bought their loose leaf teas and matcha teas to make at home and will purchase again when I'm out. Their bubble waffles are good too but can be a bit of a wait. The place can get busy during peak hours and I wish they opened earlier in the day. A definite neighborhood gem!

Paragon Tea Room specializes in Japanese tea and stone-milled tea powders (such as hojicha and matcha). They're next to Tokyo John Sushi.
There's a constant flow of people coming in and out. The inside is tiny with three tables (6 seats) and a couch. Order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. Besides tea, they also sell chocola-tea bars, tea-infused popcorn, cookies and bubble waffles.
- Matcha black sesame ($6.90) - one of their spring specials. Black sesame added a nice nuttiness that balanced well with the matcha flavour. Drink could have been hotter.
- Ceremonial matcha oat ($6.85) - smooth, slightly creamy. Again, good matcha flavour.
- The OG bubble waffle ($5.25) - limp and soggy. At least the inside was mochi-like in texture.
- Hojicha fever set ($57.95) - organic hojicha (100g), mango hojicha (50g) and hojicha powder (50g). Hojicha bronze powder was great for baking; bold, roasty tea flavour.
- Organic hojicha loose leaf ($25.95 for 100g)
- Yunnan pu-erh ($22.45 for 100g)
PTR's worth a visit for tea lovers.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jan 20, 2024
We came here on a Saturday at around 12pm. Ordered mango hojicha Latte and got a seat right away
Loved the Latte - I would definitely get it again. Service was fast and friendly. The drinks came out really fast. People were coming in often but it didn't feel crowded or stuffy.
Would definitely come back again and would recommend. The drinks are definitely on the pricier side but you are almost guaranteed a decent productHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 7, 2024
I got to try the matcha coconut refresher from the YVR Paragon Tea Room location and it was, as its name would suggest, really refreshing! The matcha was ceremonial grade so it had a deep flavour and the colour was very pretty. The flavour also actually paired quite well with the coconut water and the drink tasted very healthy as the only ingredients were matcha and coconut water.

We need a spot like this in LA! I came here 4 times while I was in Vancouver and I already miss it. I've tried the genmaicha, all the hojichas, and the HK milk tea. I was really surprised about the Mango Hojicha and ended up really liking it. I also like how you can get the drinks warm so it's easy to drink and not scalping hot like a ton of places here. Lines can be long sometimes but it's definitely worth it since they make each drink to order. They also sell bubble waffles! I will be coming back here more than once when I'm in town.
Parking: Street parking but fairly easy to findHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 1, 2023
A cute little cafe in Mt. Pleasant with delicious bubble waffles!! Not a lot of place to sit but they have a great selection of tea and waffles.
I got their bacon and cheese bubble waffle, it was delicious! They also have sweet waffles. Best part, all their waffles are freshly made!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
