Scam. Plain and simple. I reserved and paid for a spot at 110 Franklin via (https://californiaparking.com/110-franklin-civic-center/) for last Saturday night. It's a self-service surface parking lot. When I got back to my car there was a ticket from PCS stating I was unauthorized and had no permit. Came home and filed a dispute on their web site.

Got no confirmation and no one picks up the phone there. After some research on Yelp and other sites I see this is common and is a big scam. I won't be paying this ticket and will never use a lot managed by this company again.

I got a parking "citation" in the Planet Fitness parking lot in Daly City. It said I wasn't parked within the yellow lines of my spot. I checked (and took pics) and I was, without question. Looking further in the ticket they claimed my car was blocking the entrance for larger vehicles. 1) I wasn't parked near any entrance, 2) my cars rear bumper was even with all the other cars down the row. I was furious and planned to dispute this but after further research, it's a scam. The car in front of me was parked way off with no citation. And other cars as well, but only I got a ticket. Weird. I look forward to confronting the next "guard" to do this.

They patrol the Safeway lot on Market St, I learned. Something new. Ticket looks like a scam. But I talked to one of the rent-a-cops in the lot. He cussed a lot but at least promised to void the "ticket" the first time.

The main threat is they threaten to tow you on sight at the same lot if you don't pay it. Not government or city or anything. Take it up with Safeway. They seem to have a parking monopoly in the area and don't like that people are going across the street. Supposedly you can't go across the street for a couple of minutes even if you go to Safeway first.

They do have a sign, but it's not clearly visible from most parking spots. It's obscured from view by electrical equipment.

My car was parked in the Safeway plaza this morning for an hour while I worked out at I Love Kickboxing (5 stars!). I got a ticket for parking overnight. I don't believe there IS employee parking, and I have never seen a permit on any vehicle. If I'm going to be tagged, at least be correct. They didn't even get the color of my car right.

Earlier today I received a parking "citation" from Parking Control Services (PCS) when I parked in the lot next to the French Quarter in San Rafael. I didn't see the sign that indicated the space I was in is reserved for customers of specific businesses in the area.

Across the top of the citation's envelope in big bold letters it reads, "This is not a government citation." Curious, I did some research and here's what I found.

-PCS is a private non-governmental agency. They do not have the authority to enforce the payment of citations or penalties that would usually ensue if you didn't pay a parking ticket issued by your local government.
-PCS can tow your car from a private lot, but can't legally demand that you pay your "citation" if you exit the lot before you are towed.
-There is no way to contact PCS via the phone to ask questions.

PCS is the organizational equivalent of a bouncer at a bar or club. They are there to enforce the rules but, by virtue of being a bouncer/doorman/employee of the establishment, are not granted special legal authority different from any other citizen. In other words, PCS is a joke.

I will not be paying this "citation". Please check out these links below if you'd like more information.

Parked on Market Street. Went into Safeway but then ran another errand nearby, too. Got a 'ticket'. The parking lot was half empty. Someone had a quota to meet apparently. I'll line my litter box with it.

Basically a fraud. Delighted to tear up this unethical garbage piece of paper posing as a ticket. Safeway on Market Street, you should be ashamed of yourself. I Bad enough your supermarket does not feel face to shop in, now you really don't want me shopping there. OK. I got the memo.

We parked at Safeway on Market Street in SF, and went to a store over the street, came back and got coffees from Starbucks in Safeway, and went back to my car to find a ticket.

I never saw any signage, and a second look showed that it was poorly displayed behind unmaintained trees, with small print which basically said I could not leave the car park before or after I had been to the store.

I believe this ticket is unenforcible. I tried to contact PCS and the phone number on their site is disconnected. Their website offers no helpful information. I will not be contacting them via email or in writing as I do not wish to receive further correspondence.

Safeway would do better to deal with the other problems they have in the parking lot and the store, instead of using this company to harass people. Shame on you Safeway for even using this company.

This CLOWN was just waiting to give someone a fake ticket. This meterman, was actually hiding in the bush.... Fun fact, you don't have to actually pay these. I purposely park at the shopping center and walk across the street just to get a ticket and throw it back at him. They are private and can't do anything. Good try SECURITY MONITOR...

I was parked on a city street. There was no legal reason that I should get a ticket. I called SFMTA. I had no ticket issued to my car. I left PCS a message telling them that they are a scam, and they will not hear from me again. Don't be fooled.
