Yeah...Passion8 has finally opened in Cambie Village. It's a Korean dessert and cafe. We were eager to try out the new kid on the block and the desserts did not disappoint.

We had a multigrain toastery - free tonight with our order of shaved milk (instead of ice) as part of their opening promo. It was warm, not too sweet, and was more of a flaky pastry than toast. The flavour and textures were more complex than the HK style dessert toasts. Really enjoyed it until our order of honey cheesecake berry shaved milk arrived. DELICIOUS! Seriously, we couldn't stop eating it. The honey cheesecake was the star...very light and fluffy, even non-cheesecake people would approve. Again, it was not too sweet. I found the shaved milk to be more refreshing than shaved ice. Plus, it's healthier (?) haha.

The staff were engaging and offered helpful suggestions, which was great as this was our first time. Our server was also very proud to explain that their shaved milk desserts are made from real, fresh, whole milk. And all the cakes used in their desserts are made from scratch, including the amazingly delicious cheesecake. They also serve espresso coffee, but we did not try the drinks tonight.

I can honestly say that I'll be back...regularly;)

      What happened?!?!!!

They use a different mochi cube now. It is harder and has less flavor and is overall unappetizing. Also, they top it with a mochi ice cream of whatever flavor you order (the kind in the t&t ice cream section).

It used to be so good but not anymore.

Did they get new owners? New suppliers?

I ate about 5 spoonfuls and chucked the rest. So disappointing.

Great place to get bingsoo! It's a bit on the pricey side for shaved ice, but it's worth treating yourself once in a while.

The mango was recommended, so we had this one. I really thought it was one of the best korean shaved ice I have ever had and would love to go for this again, trying other flavors.

The service is quick and efficient. The staff was helpful with giving an idea of the portion sizes. I only wish that tiramisu came in a smaller size.

The decor is cute and cozy. I'd come back to try more flavors.

I came here with a friend to try their shaved ice! I don't think they have the toasts on their menu anymore (although the person who took our order mentioned they were out of stock of a few things, so maybe that was one of the things that was greyed out on the menu) - it was just shaved ice, cake slices, and drinks. The menu as it is still offers lots of options.
I was sorely tempted by the beautiful carrot cake in the display, but I had my heart set on shaved ice, so I got the injeolmi snow and an americano to offset the cold dessert in the cold weather. The shaved ice was very creamy, and I enjoyed the nutty flavour of the liberal dusting of soybean powder and red beans with the chewy mochi. There was one big mochi ball on top but I was surprised by how many smaller mochi pieces were mixed in. They definitely did not skimp on toppings for either my shaved ice or for my friend who got the mango snow. My americano actually exceeded my expectations, it was pretty strong and had a rich flavour.
Order at the counter and they'll call out your order when it's ready for you to pick up. The person working the front was very nice and gave my friend recommendations. The ambiance is nothing fancy but we found it very comfortable and relaxed.

A most disappointing experience by any standards but especially given the previously positive experience.

We ordered the mango bongo, large. It was served with small bits of what appears to be frozen mango. Previously and as shown in many Yelp photos here, it was large fresh cut chunks. This is also how it appears on their menu.

We were deeply disappointed, partly because they charged $17.50 for a large.

We complained. While there was no apology offered, they did offer extra mango topping. But it just dampened the whole experience.

The extra noisy table of 10 youngsters next to us did not help neither.

With all the heat-wave warnings in Vancouver, I would rather be in this shaved-ice dessert cafe than cooped indoors! Passion8 has been my go-to spot for quite some time now and I have always tried a new flavour and never been disappointed! However, my favorite would have to be Mango Bango or Taro! It's shaved ice + ice cream + mango (or taro)... who wouldn't want that?!

Their portion are huge! if you get there large, it is like a whole meal. I usually get a large to-go and have it the next day.

Life hack to beat the heat this summer :)

Bought a carrot cake and it was really dry. Very disappointed with the cake. I tried giving this place a chance.

Remains a great spot for an icy treat! Tried the large matcha, and it was great! The toppings all worked very well, including the cake, mochi, red bean and whipped cream.

korean shaved ice place. Theres tons in the city. I came here out of convenience because i was in the area and felt like a dessert.

We got the yuzu shaved ice. Basically a mound of their milk shaved ice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, and layers of yuzu syrup. Some bits of preserved yuzu in there. Not bad, solid 3.5/5.

Also got the strawberry souffle pancake. Comes with 2 per order, drenched in strawberry preserve. Actually this was pretty good, solid 4/5. You can get better elsewhere though.

Its a counter-service place. order at the counter and grab a seat until they call you. Lady at the counter was friendly.

Restaurant was clean, brightly-lit. simple but functional.

Best part about this place was pretty ample seating, open pretty late, central location, and theres a free little parking lot out front. So while you can get their food elsewhere better, i would return here purely for convenience, and food is pretty good all things considered.

Ordered the large mango bingsoo for $22. Disappointed that it felt barely filled up, any other place I've ever been to has been nicely stacked up, especially for the price.
The bingsoo itself was ok, a little too sweet and the texture was compact not light and fluffy.

Overall a disappointing experience, would not come back.

Went there and had the regular mango snow thing plus one slice of Tarasamu cake (spelling error)
Was $25.48..... not worth it for that price
      Maybe it's just a coffee place? $3-5 ?
Mango wasn't ripe, cake was likely ordered from somewhere else and sliced out
