Dr. Ford has been my doctor for a few years. He's a great guy, knowledgeable and friendly. He cuts to the chase and is straight forward about everything. I have no complaints.
He works at the Stanford Medical Center and they have a nice website through which I've had some small online conversations with him for refills and so on. It's all very easy.
I've also never been left sitting in a room waiting for very long.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Lynn M.Montara, CA022Oct 2, 2012
My husband and I have been patients of Paul Ford, at Stanford Medical Group and Clinics ever since he began practicing there. We have traveled the world and been in remote places and Paul was always just an email or call away. We had some serious medical events while traveling and his prompt answers and advise truly saved my husbands' life. He is highly intelligent, a very quick mind, thorough and attentive. It is a pleasure to see him regardless of our problems because he puts our minds at ease, addresses the problems with calm and assertiveness. We would be lost without his care and are grateful he is there for us when we need him.
The ease of appointments is a great improvement as time has gone by. The staff is cordial and efficient, eager to help, refills are a cinch and messaging him or his staff via their email system is the frosting on the cake.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mary M.San Jose, CA2442May 13, 2009
A doctor who tries, and continues trying in spite of the tangled red tape all around. A doctor who is respectful and provides for and protects the dignity of those others would consider most undignified. As a professional in health care for seniors I have learned to judge a man's character by the way he treats the elderly, whether or not they will remember or forget how he treated them.
Refreshing to find such a man behind the white coat.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nicole D.San Carlos, CA6584Mar 8, 2010
Dr. Ford is a great doctor. He takes the time to listen - and most importantly you know he's heard you! There has never been a time when I felt like I've been kept waiting. He also uses technology to its fullest. You can easily communicate via the Stanford health system private e-mail. It allows me to follow up with him and to ask quick questions without feeling like I have to schedule an appointment. He's got a sports medicine background, but handles all aspects of general medicine. Don't hesitate to schedule an appointment - he's great!

Fast; efficient; accurate. I've been a patient since 1994; and in all that time the quality of service has constantly improved
Gone are the days of waiting for 6 weeks for an appointment; or an hour to see your doctor.
I make same-day appointments (which only stands to reason: please see me when I'm ill, not 6 weeks later) and am moved through the process with quick and timely deliberation.
Paul's a good guy; I like his bedside manner and approach. What I like most, though, is the quality and timeliness of the care. The organization has dones a great job of ensuring patients and doctors get to see one another in a timely fashion.
A++ would buy from this seller again, etc.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joe M.Mountain View, CA012Feb 21, 2012
Though my fmaily has had bad experiences with Stanford and its cold inefficiency, I was recently recommended to Paul Ford for a complete physical. Though getting an appoitnment was the usual Stnaford cardinal tape, once I asaw Dr. Ford, it was worth it. Dr. Ford as advertised is warm, friendly, professional, and obviously really knows his medicine. I suspected that I was having a problem with high blood pressure. I was right. Dr. Ford corrected the problem by trying a couple of different medications to really try to choose the one that was tailored to my up and down blood pressure (stress driven, I suppose). He was very patient, and saw me on a regualr basis. Most of the time, I was in and out before having to pay for the parking. He is a pleasant chap and a beacon in his profession.

I will tell you a story of why Dr Ford is the best damn doctor of all doctors in the world. Several years ago he was my general physician. As many of you may know sometimes general physicians are good and sometimes not so good. If something seems mild, of course they will probably give you some meds and send you along. Several years ago I had a strange reaction to something. I had all kinds of embarrassing gas issues at night. Couldn't figure it out. Went to see Dr. Ford. First he tried antacids to see if I was having issues with acid reflux because I was having issues with it about a year ago. That didn't do anything. He did blood tests, urine test and ultrasound and eveything came back ok. We tried different things over the next 2 months. One thing seemed to work but a few weeks later I was having issues again. One night I suddenly felt something that I can only describe as similar to a panic attack or a disturbance in the force. Every fiber in my body felt like it was screaming out to me that something is terribly wrong. I believed it wholeheartedly. I felt it but I had no concrete proof. As an engineer and logic minded this seemed absurd but I truly believed my body was telling me something. The next day I went in to see Dr. Ford and I told him to please not think I was crazy for what I was about to tell him. I told him I had a very strong feeling that something is terribly wrong. He looked at me for a few seconds and then he said "I believe you. We've tried enough let's just do a CT scan and see what we find". The day after my CT scan, he himself contacted me and ask if I could take some time off work and go see him. The doctor made an appointment for me. You know thats not good. Anyway, long story short, they found cancer in my colon. Who knew that a gassy belly would end up being cancer. Anyway, miracle of miracles while the tumor was already large it never spread and I am alive today 5 years later and healthy and active. I can only imagine if Dr. Ford didn't believe me (like so many doctors in the past who always tried to convince me something is no big deal when several times in the past they were big deals). I may have gone on for another couple of months trying to resolve my issue never knowing that the cancer was growing. For all I know the tumor could have been just weeks away from spreading. The man helped saved my life.

Dr. Ford has been my doctor for several years. He is a nice and friendly person. I communicate with him by email and it is very easy.
My only complaint is it can be difficult to speak with his practice coordinator when I call the Stanford Medical Group's phone number, because she didn't answer the phone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - dkp p.Redwood City, CA04Aug 16, 2012
I found Dr. Ford to be a robot of medical books. He looked me in the eyes for 15 seconds (CRITICAL for all doctors to do), pretended to listen to me, offered no empathy or help over my infertility and pushed me out the door (all w/i 12 minutes, giving him 3 extra minutes to himself compared to the 15 medical textbooks recommend). I wouldn't recommend him if my life depended on it.

Dr. Ford has been my primary care physician through two decades, five or six insurers, and a series of other life changes. He is caring and concerned but also very efficient and effective. I always trust and respect this doctor and his opinions.
