      Brady and the rest of the team at Peninsula Irrigation are simply amazing.

      They did a beautiful job designing a system that is right-sized for my yard, and completed the work with attention to detail. Pipes were painted to match the surfaces they ran over, and trenches were dug and filled such that you couldn't tell they had even been there. Each zone was properly outfitted to support the plants both existing and future, that we had discussed during the initial site visit.

      When hot weather caused unexpected issues with joints in the system, they came out and repaired the system under warranty, no questions asked! Some of the best customer service I've ever experienced.

      I cannot recommend them highly enough, if you're re-doing your landscaping, give them a call. You'll be happy you did.

      I'm responding to the owners comment that:
      "1. As is our custome, we fully disclosed our rates, service approach and the time needed to accomplish your project details ahead of all work done- and you agreed to them"

      In fact, I was not given a quote and i did not agree upon the project details ahead of time, as far as cost. No way in heck i'd agree to $9,000 for irrigation work. here is my original review.

      I needed a complete redo of my old irrigation, two separate systems, maybe 9 valves. All valves were replaced, and they replaced most of all of the irrigation lines. It was a lot of work. I have the following problems:

      1. They didn't give me a quote for the work. So when the price was $9k, 3x what i was expecting, obviously it was shocking. It's also inexcusable. My wife yelled at me.

      2. When they log 45 hours of labor at $160 hours, shouldn't they give you a break on the rate? I fully understand a 2 hour job with all the commute and stuff, but these guys were basically there all day.

      3. They didn't bother adjusting the timers, even though some zones changed. Wasted a lot of water until i figured it out.

      I could have paid a competent gardener for 2 months for the fee they charged me. I'm angry.

      The crew was competent and fixed our irrigation problem with a malfunctioning valve. They are expensive ($165/hour per technician) but very well qualified

      Sorry but entered review for wrong company. Yelp sent me an email asking to post a review for this company and I thought it was the company that I actually used for work yesterday (name is similar). Sorry to all - but I used a different company yesterday to get the work done. Don't know why Yelp sent me an email for this company.       Fabulous company! I was referred to them from NextDoor and from my first call I knew they were good.

      I called and left a voicemail. Robert returned my call within 24 hrs. I explained what my issue was and he assured me they could help. He explained that they were pretty booked but that he could squeeze me in next Tuesday. The next day I received an email that they had a cancelation for today (Saturday) so I grabbed it. I then promptly received an email confirming my appt and what their fees were.

      Today, they showed up and I explained my issue. Well, I'm embarrassed to say, it was user error. However, since I was being charged for an hour of time, they went throughout my property, ran various tests on my sprinkler system, checked everything including valves etc and gave a clean bill of health. What they ended up doing today was their bi-annual service that they offer. I will be having them back in fall/winter to do another service check.

      I highly recommend Peninsula Irrigation.

      I did not work with them because I felt their fees were prohibitive for the size of my project. However, they were not unique in that respect. All the irrigation companies were in the same ballpark as what they wanted to charge. We are currently facing the highest rate of inflation in 40 years which is going to be followed by a deep and long recession. However, despite this reality, they all want to charge $75-$100 per hour for labor rates. I am not willing to pay those rates to dig a ditch and glue the plastic pipe together.

      These guys are good at fixing problems but they charge a lot ( more than a high-priced lawyer or doctor for a sprinkler technician!!). And they often send two guys so you pay twice as much for someone who spends most the time watching the lead guy and fetching and carrying. They act like it is a minor job until you see the bill and the hours that they racked up and the owner refuses to reduce the amount. They tell me that the technicians don't get a commission but I doubt that.

      So I recommend that people only use them in emergencies- in that situation, you don't mind paying the high prices. But avoid them for adjustment and installation ( $ 1000s for laying drip irrigation in a small yard!).

      And to add insult to injury, the 12-month warranty has a lot of caveats that you only discover after they return and do work that should have been covered by the so-called warranty.

      TL;DR - Horrible and expensive.

      Here's the deal, hour #1 of visit #1 is *really expensive* (like working with a lawyer expensive), then after that every hour is reduced to just *expensive*. They bill in 5 minute increments from the time the van pulls up to the time it goes away. So when the tech answers a phone call, forgets a tool, or make a wrong turn, it's on your dime.

      In my case, they left me with a faulty repair / home water feature. I called twice at 3:30pm and they didn't get back to me until the next day. Had to turn the water off to the house and I'm not sure how many gallons of water was wasted.

      What did I get in return? An overbilled invoice and an apology. In fairness, the tech was a nice guy but I don't think Peninsula Irrigation (the company) did me right.

      I will never use their service again.
