Pros:
- I love the upgraded granite counter-tops in the kitchen & bathroom.
- very nicely painted rooms
- no one lives below you or above you if you're in the studio units
- 6-months lease option
- low move-in deposit ($400 for studio apt)
- great apt mgr: Randall is a nice guy.
- cell ph reception for AT&T is good for the most part
- you get one assigned covered parking space and a storage unit
- water & garbage is included
- conveniently close to the freeway, restaurants, and Pak n Save grocery.
- nicely insulated rooms since you barely hear your next door neighbor unless they have several ppl over to watch a game or a fight.
- there are plenty of street parking spaces available also.
Cons:
- storage lockers are all different sizes so you'll never know what kind of space you'll end up having
- some garages are manual and some have a remote (you pay extra $50/mo for it)
- occasionally, you'll hear airplanes fly over you (airport nearby) and can hear a bit of cars driving over the freeway (since that's kind of your view from the balcony).
- heat stays in well esp. in the summer and since there is no AC in the unit, you gotta open your windows often (thank god the doors are huge and there is a screen).
- closest mailbox is wayyyy up the hill (a block away) on Gellert.
- you gotta mail your rent check to the landlord via Cashiers Check every month instead of being able to walk over and hand it over to Randall.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Fang-Chieh C.Stanford, CA11697Feb 25, 2018
Love this location in my 2.5 years of renting.
Pro:
- Large unit, no one is above or below you.
- Good sound isolation between units; you don't hear the sound from your neighbors.
- Well maintained. The maintenance person (Mike) fixed anything in a day whenever I called him.
- The property manager is professional and prompt in responding my queries.
- In unit garage, storage room, water and garbage are all included.
- Next to highway and 7 minutes driving to BART station.
- Large window and patio. Good view.
Cons:
- Quite noisy since 280 is right next to the apartment and air planes fly over your head.
- Daly city is very foggy and wet.
- Laundry is shared between units and can sometimes be crowded by your neighbors; but at least it is available in the building.
- No security system (e.g. surveillance camera). The neighborhood is mostly a safe residential area, but my bike got stolen while parked the garage. The management was unable to do much other than having me file a police report.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wendy T.Daly City, CA474233293Jan 24, 2012Updated review

After about six years of being a tenant in this well maintained and gorgeous 1 bedroom apartment, I can only say this. This apartment is the best place I've ever leave in. From the Owner, manager, all the way down to the maintenance guy, they all took care of us from all problems. So, I recommend this place to anyone who's thinking of a cozy, upgraded and affordable one bedroom. You won't regret it.

This is a mixed bag of emotions when writing this review. During my 4 year stay, I received a hospitality-like service equivalent to a Six Star Hotel. The apartment is at a great location. Right by Highway 280 and US101 and close to downtown San Francisco with easy freeway access to the Peninsula and the South Bay. Centrally located with many Shopping networks and even though Daly City is situated at the fog belt that travels along Pacifica through the SF Richmond Districts, it is still away from intense foggy areas. Overall speaking, a really good experience in all the years I lived there!
Draw back is the team at the business office. In the Landlord-Tenant relationship, all I felt was nothing else but business. The lady in charge is the property owner's daughter. She is pleasant and professional. Other than that, I have nothing else to remark. During the 4 years association, my monthly rent went from $1100 to $1700 a month. Understanding it is the landlord market at the current economic time. This Leasing Office went full force aggressive! Starting the second year and every year since, first a 25% increase, then up 10%, and another 25%!! Thank God going into the 5th year I found some place to move. And forever say goodbye to this unending saga!!
The true Hero is Mike, the Ground Manager. Onsite managers Randall and Linda are nice too. But Mike, who took proactive approach in every service calling. Despite the fact that Mike is always busy, he manages ground keeping for 5 locations. When he answered calls, he made sure calls were returned right away. In addressing issues, not only he fixed them immediately. He also look for unforeseen problems and addressed them before it fails. For example, one time he came for the garbage disposal, after correcting the problem, he noticed the kitchen faucet was also wearing down. So he replaced the faucet with a new one. When finishing the installation, he decided to clean up the water minerals deposited underneath the sink, and applied a fresh coat of paints. Another time, he came for drainage issue in the bathroom. He unclogged the drain, then decided the existing shower head and the toilet seat were time to go, the list goes on.
It was Mike who made a difference. Can't say enough about this awesome man!! It was a blessing to know him!Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Teija K.Seattle, WA07Feb 27, 2017
I've lived here for 3 years now and very much appreciate the modern, well kept apartments. Mike takes great care of the buildings and tends to maintenance needs promptly. Both Mike and his maintenance crew are really nice guys. The building managers Letty and Mars are just a joy, they go above and beyond to do their job. I've had contact with the ladies in the office too, they've been very helpful in solving my issue with my neighbors delivery people ringing my doorbell and I now have peace and quiet.

We only lived here for 6 months but our short stay was pretty enjoyable. The noise from the freeway is definitely not an issue (we were probably in the middle). We were on Brosnan court in the one bedrooms which were on the top (the apartments are set up so no one is below you which is nice). We were in one of the upgraded apartments and I'm not sure it was really worth the extra 1,000 bucks a month but that was all they had available and we needed an apartment after moving up from southern california. We had a great view and on nice days it was nice to sit on the balcony (daly city does not have a lot of good days). The only cons I can think of was they kept increasing the price of the washing and drying machines. The other thing is the plane. The planes go over the apartment. I think it's the direct path for international flights (so we have been told), it didn't bother us but I know it bothers other residents.

If you're looking for a clean, spacious, modern unit in a quiet, well-maintained secured building located in a safe neighborhood with a responsive, honest and friendly management team who is focused on keeping their tenants content, look no further than Peninsula View Apartments. Each unit includes an enclosed garage and a large storage room and there is plenty of street parking for any additional cars. The place is centrally located with a shopping center around the corner, access to I-280 & I-380 within two minutes and the South San Francisco BART station a five minute drive away. Due to its proximity to south city, the weather tends to be sunny for most of the year, which is an added bonus. The windows are double paned, so the unit is well-insulated which means low PG&E bills during winter. My husband and I had the pleasure of living here for three years and would've stayed longer but needed a second bedroom for our baby who was on the way. Can't say enough good things about this place; I highly recommend it!
