Pete's Henny Penny Restaurant

Was traveling when we found this place. Great food, great service, big portions. If you're feeling adventurous, I'd recommend they Mediterranean dinners, pretty spectacular!

We always have a delicious meal at Henny Penny's! One of our favorite local restaurants. This Keto friendly Blackened salmon is my go-to. Especially belly healthy for me. Large enough portion for two meals! Service was excellent too. Dining room is clean with fun country art.

Portions are small, my son's Italian sausage was still very pink inside. My food was good but not enough food for the price. 3 meals and 2 coffees 70.00

I am so glad I pulled over! What an absolute gem of a restaurant. After a tough day on the road I just wanted some good coffee and comfort food. Pete's was the perfect choice. The service is kind and efficient, the choices offer something for everyone, and the prices are very reasonable. I haven't had pancakes that fluffy in years. The place was so clean. I sat at the counter and watched the kitchen staff and waitstaff working and I was impressed. I was in and out in 40 minutes, happy as a clam. I will be back.

We found this gem on our travels. The food is amazing and came out quick and hot. The service was excellent. The menu was very extensive. The ambiance is a cool vibe and very relaxed. Lots of regulars which we love! Pete's Henny Penny is an excellent choice for breakfast!

Stumbled into this spot by chance whilst roadtrippin. Wow, we were blown away. There's a schnitzel on the breakfast menu?! Food was excellent and staff was very attentive and efficient. We enjoyed our b-fast so much we made sure to stop by again on the way back home, excited to try something different on the menu. The only knock I would give is that the coffee is very weak. But in no way is that going to prevent us from coming back again next time we're in the area. We will gladly do so :)

Crap, terrible food and nothing good to say about it, I'll never go back there! The service was just ok but the food lacked flavor and even the kids spaghetti was so darn bland that they wouldn't eat it.

We were apprehensive. We figured, it could go either way. Could this place be a hidden gem? We can't tell by looking at it.... but driving by, we were always intrigued.

I am from Pennsylvania, and I miss diners. California has great food, but when it comes to good old American cooking, it's far and few between. Not that there is anything necessarily wrong with that -- I'm Asian, and so I love all the various ethnic food it offers. But I can't help but miss the good old diners with huge menus, huge portions with the right amount of grease.

We took a gamble and stopped by on our way home from visiting family. My husband got one of the burgers, and I got an open faced roast beef sandwich. We were surprised by what was put in front of us. It was HUGE. My hub's burger was giant with a mountain of fries - both were quite tasty and exactly how you want a burger to be. My open faced roast beef sandwich was also huge with tons of gravy and buttery mashed potatoes. The beef wasn't the most flavorful, but the gravy made up for it.

We were pretty impressed. Especially given the price which was decent. FINALLY, a place with some decent pricing. With all the places around who charge you 18 bucks for a burger and extra if you want fries... Finally, a place that doesn't gouge you.

The second time around, I got the tuna melt and my husband once again got the burger. Tuna melt was just right. Tuna was warmed through with cheese oozing out, with some decent rye bread toasted. I had gotten the regular fries and my husband got the waffle fries, and surprisingly I liked the regular fries more -- it tastes like actual potato, thick and perfectly fried.

My husband spontaneously got a vanilla milkshake and it was as you'd expect from a place like this - yummy and giant.

I've read some of the reviews that said strange things about this place, and honestly the vibe is a bit strange, so I wouldn't be surprised if those things actually happened. But, for now, we haven't experienced anything strange, and the food is good and well priced. So we will continue to stop by to grab dinner, or maybe we'll try breakfast sometimes, but we have another favorite place in town, so we may never get to try it. Either way, it's pretty awesome to have found a good diner type place -- far and few between out here in the ole CA.

Pete's Henny Penny appears to be an average diner. The space is open and welcoming with plenty of seating, including a traditional breakfast bar.
We were promptly greeted, given a booth, and drinks of coffee brought to the table. It was my gf's idea to eat here on our way to a wedding just north in Healdsburg. Upon receiving the coffee, our server informed us that her shift was ending and she'd let the incoming server know about our table. Ok.

We saw the new server enter and the other woman disappeared. After a good 10 minutes (yes, I was hyper aware of the time since we did have somewhere to be) no one had approached our table to take our orders. At this time, around 4pm, the diner only had two other tables occupied. After 20 minutes I walked up to the register area to request our order be taken by....the same server who said her shift had ended. She was wiping down the breakfast bar and refilling condiments. Her only response to me? Your server will be with you very shortly.

Oh, we saw the new server as she sat about two more parties and proceeded to take their orders. The other server? She just stared at us while she continued to work despite her shift being over. What kind of service is this??? It was now 30 minutes since we arrived.

I put my foot down with my far too forgiving gf, and left a couple of bucks for the coffee when I realized that the server was not going to take our order. As we were walking out, the original server gave us attitude, "Really? You're leaving!?" Yes, I replied, as we are not being served and we are on a schedule.

So that's it...
A casual diner with poor service and we never did get to taste the food.
