A few months ago, I visited a Petro-Canada at this location and used their car wash, resulting in over $400 in damage to my car. The incident occurred when the car wash chain dragged my car, causing significant damage and busting my front tire. Additionally, the wash itself was ineffective, leaving dust and dirt on my car.

I spoke with the manager on duty, who refused to assist and blamed me for the damage. I then contacted the main office, which acknowledged the problem and allowed me to file a complaint. However, I have yet to receive any follow-up from them.

This incident is not my first negative experience with Petro-Canada's customer service. On several occasions, I have encountered unhelpful staff and poor communication.

Previously, I was a regular Petro-Canada customer, particularly for their car wash and generally good service. However, due to this recent experience, I no longer visit Petro-Canada locations. Instead, I now choose other fuel providers such as Shell and Esso, where I find the fuel quality better and the service much more satisfactory, all at similar prices.

I went here to buy a lottery product, and an employee who was wearing a white shirt there asked me if I had points card with me. I said no. He then scanned with his own points card while checking out.

      1. They got hacked. 2. System still down 2 weeks later. 3. Went recently and now they don't accept cash. 4. The pump I pulled up to fill up was not working and no sign was posted. 5. The car wash was not accepting codes for at least 2 weeks. 6. It now accepts codes again but not all the car wash options are available. 7. While the systems were down they only accepted cash. 8. Now they only accept cards. 9. Half the vacuums are out of order and the sign is so small on them that you don't see it until you've pulled up. 10. Their coffee sucks.

I will give Zero star to this petro Canada location if I could.
To wash my car using the car wash station at this Petro-Canada station, I went to the petro-Canada station at 8151 Granville ave. During the process of washing my vehicle, I heard a scratching sound coming from the back of my vehicle, after the car wash was complete, I parked my vehicle in the parking lot and discovered that there was a severe dent in the top edge of the rear trunk. Petro Canada customer service was not available when I called. After 15 minutes, I went to the store and told the cashier agent about the incident. He blamed me for coming so late to tell him about it. Besides, I was told by another agent that there was nothing wrong with the car wash, and they would not compensate for the damage to my car. I was so disappointed about this experience, and I just got my new tesla on the same day! Hence, I am writing about this and looking to find a reasonable solution!

      Dear Petrol Canada,

I have been a long time loyal customer of your company, i have to say I was extremely disappointed with my last visit. On the evening of May 31, 2019, at precisely 10:13pm. My gas door is on the left side, and i was lining up for my turn to pump. The gas price was very good, so it was a long lineup, as cars were backed up to the street already. When it was closer to my turn, a blue car in the lineup to my left, started viciously honking at me. The driver insisted quite arrogantly that I let him pump his car first, as I assume he had lined up in the side where the pump is on the right, but he needed to switch lineups because his pump was on the left. He tried to cut in front of me and eventually, a worker came and rudely knocked on my door, and kept repeating that "he got here first, I saw you, I saw you, I saw you." The blue car did indeed get there before I did, however he and I were in separate lineups, like at the grocery store, you can't just come up and try to cut in front of someone just because you "lined up" first, but realized my line was shorter. He should not expect others to compensate for a mistake he made. Both cars in front of me had finished pumping and left, and amidst the confusion and anger I was feeling, the worker allowed the blue car to cut behind me to go ahead. Although he went into the first stall and I was still able to pump at the stall behind him at the same time, the driver of the car behind me got out and stared in confusion as it would've been his and my turn to pump if it wasn't for the blue car. This worker not only allowed this blue car to cut in front of me, but by doing so it also disturbed other drivers behind me, and clearly displayed his own inability to handle a situation with respectful professionalism. He refused to listen to my reasoning of this unfairness and continued to allow it to happen. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who got to the station first. I lined up starting from the back and waited my turn. Had the worker, cashier, and driver of the blue car been more kind about the situation, and politely asked, I would've gladly let the driver go before me. However what I was confronted with was arrogance, disrespect and bullying.

This blue car caused a commotion, but it was the worker who failed to handle the situation fairly. My girlfriend helped me pump as I approached the worker and calmly asked for his name. I saw that he had removed his name tag, but I managed to also see that his name started with "Sar-." I went into the shop and asked the cashier, hoping he would be able to help. He gave me an obviously fake number, and gave me the name of the worker as "Gung Nike." As I had seen his name start with the letters SAR, I asked if the name he had given me was real. He then replied in a very vindicated, snotty tone, "If I gave you the number and name, then it's real. Why do you think it's not?" I went outside in a last attempt to talk to the worker as it was clear the cashier was covering up for him. He kept trying to avoid me, and I told him in my last efforts, that if he thought what he was doing was right, why couldn't he give me his name? The way he had talked to me was so rude and demanding. I told him all would be forgiven if he would just give me an apology, and unfortunately that did not happen, which I why I'm writing this. A worker who knows no customer service, should have received proper customer service training before allowed to interact with customers.

I felt extremely ganged up on. I felt betrayed by a company I have always been loyal to, and promoted. I'm writing this letter to bring awareness to what happened, and also to hopefully prevent this from happening again to other customers. This worker provided absolutely no customer service, banged on my car door and refused to listen to reasoning. I felt attacked and unfairly treated, and I can say that the customers behind and around me could also sense that. The cameras have hopefully caught everything. I hope this situation can be brought to justice.

My 2nd favourite Petro Canada in Richmond.

Fast, attentive attendants who will ask if you want your oil to be checked.

Can be busy when there's a deal, lineups can hog up traffic but at least there's a garage mechanic shop next door so one can loop around, either to Buswell or Granville or Park Ave.

And there's also a Dairy Queen to grab a quick dessert ;)

as usual, full service always in Rmd ;)

Not a great experience, Went for a car wash and the machine left areas as big as a pizza untouched on my mazda. I showed the attendant and he was nice enough to put me through again. Still left some smaller areas dirty. He offered to put me through again but I was running short of time.
Nice staff but I would not try again as the wash machine seems a bit of a challenge.

Carwash is new and works better than before.
The outside new staff need more training and behave better as customer will go some other places to refill.

Don't go there for car wash or basically anything. Complaint to corporate, but end up they told me to check the car before leaving the station. Simply bad wash.
