Phoenix Restorations is my Strata's insurance agent's contractor. They were called in to replace my damaged wood floors and repair paint damages after a chimney cleaning disaster. Jason Ryshak was the lead on our job. He did a fantastic job of coordinating with all other contractors. The floors look amazing. I had zero stress as he took care of everything while I went to Hawaii. I called him back to say some hardware was missing to hang my coat closet door and he had it fixed immediately. The job did go on 8 days longer than expected but there was a lot of snow and ice and our subfloors required unanticipated extensive repairs (104 year old heritage home). I would highly recommend Phoenix Restoration for your job.

Very unprofessional demeanor all around. One of their crew selfishly parked in the Cancer Clinic driveway, totally blocking access for patients. Eventually they returned and purposely took their time moving on in a demonstration of arrogance. If you have a respectable place of residence or business they will definitely leave a poor impression on your clients and visitors.

We had you service our building in Richmond at Rivers Reach on June 9th. It was a treacherous 5 or so hours of the worker viciously slamming our neighbors door non stop for hours on end. All of the residents were disgusted and annoyed! Have you no manners common sense or respect! I will make sure our strata never deals with you again!

Well, after 4 months of ripping the ensuite apart for NO reason other than a "make work" project they finally showed up today March 1st, 2023 and it took them 1-1/2 hours to repair and replace the vanity. Now we will see how long till the plumber shows up because, well, "they work on their own schedule you know". No I didn't know!!!
As for the carpet that was floating in 1" of water, well, well, well. What about the carpet was the reply.
And this "joint", company is too good a word for them, is not a member of the BBB and should never, never be allowed to join.
Their should be a spot for -0 stars.
Bottom of the barrel is this place!

This is arguably the worst company I've ever had to deal with in any capacity. They do not communicate amongst themselves, they do not follow up or answer emails, they take forever to get anything done. I cannot stress how much you should avoid dealing with this company if at all possible. I could gather a team of half way intelligent chimpanzees, explicitly tell them to do the worst job possible, and they would still out perform the team at Phoenix restoration.

I've had a horrible experience dealing with Pheonix Restoration. They were hired by my building because of a leak from another unit that damaged my floors. They moved my belongings out and broke so much. They broke three tables and my bed. They even broke 3 closets and scratched the new floors. They still have not accepted any responsibility and have been gaslighting me the entire way. They did a horrible job on my base boards and left holes in certain areas. They tried to fix my tables and returned them wobbly. Now they are gaslighting me saying they were wobbly before. I've never had to flight so much and they have treated me horribly. AVOID WORKING WITH THEM IF YOU CAN! . I've been staying at a hotel for 2 months when I was only supposed to be out of my home for ten days.

Your drivers need a serious lesson on how to drive. Today I was tailgated as soon an I pulled off hwy 99 at the 16th street exit. Your driver continued to tail me despite the fact that parts of 16th we flooding on the road and the conditions warranted a slower speed. I did drive 10k over the limit to see if he would back off , but no. At 200th/16th he pulled into the turning land to head north but as soon as the light went green he took off straight and cut in front of me. When I did turn north on 216th your ever so polite driver opened his window and proceeded to make "jerking off" motions at me with his hand. Talk about stellar representation of your company.

I had a child in the car and don't feel that I need to be bullied on the road and made to go faster than the law allows. You might want to offer a driving course for your employees as I see it has been complaint before.

This company is the absolute worst. They came in and inspected my wall and left everything torn apart. It has been 6 weeks and not heard from these guys, meanwhile my wall is still the same as when they came to do the inspection (torn apart) when you call them to get a status report, they all pass th buck, and no one can give you an answer.
The 1 star that I gave is far too much, but there wasn't an option for negative stars.
      Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phoenix Restorations is a misnomer. I suggest Vulture Restorations.

      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are the owners of a 650 square feet condo, located in Burnaby, Greater Vancouver, B.C, Canada and we would like to detail our experience with Phoenix Restorations. On the "date of loss", two Phoenix Restorations employees entered our unit for half hour. During this time, they taped the ceiling (which did not require taping since the damage was isolated to the floor) placed dehumidifying machines and they charged $4,056.53. Their bill for one hour of labor amounted to $4056.53 There is a surcharge is for their after hours/emergency hours. This was the first invoice. More details regarding grossly inflated material costs and the performance of unnecessary work are documented in the following paragraphs.

Our water damage incident happened at March 17, 2020 around 7:40 pm. We phoned 911 immediately, and firemen arrived in 15 minutes, around 7:55 pm. Before they entered, we had already turned off the water for the entire unit. My neighbour, my husband and I focused on wiping water from the flooring surface and the firemen focused on vacuuming the water from the floor with their special equipment. During the time, the onsite property caretaker phoned the emergency number for Phoenix Restorations. With the help of firemen and our neighbours, the water damage was contained quickly. They left after major work being done around 8:30 pm. My husband and I continued to do further cleaning.

Around 10pm, two workers from Phoenix finally arrived, performed a simple inspection and stated the water damage was "not bad at all" since we have already done the work. They did a bit of taping, brought in two 1200 dehumidifier and 6 air dryers to our home and left the building around 10:30 pm. That is 30 minutes of work.

The day after incident, three Phoenix workers came into our home around 9:30am and did simple tests and claimed the water damage was "very bad" and even taped our ceiling. This was contradictory to the comments made just 12 hours ago by Phoenix.

After I repeated asked how does the water damage on floor travel up my ceiling, Phoenix Restorations employees cancelled the plan to tape off my celling. (Why is unnecessary work being performed?!) We requested the removal of all 8 machines from our property since our unit is small and the scope of work does not justify 8 machines. After the machines from our home were removed, they went down to the commercial properties underneath our unit to claim the water damage needed to be fixed.

The commercial owner who has first hand knowledge that the scope of damages are very very limited refused Phoenix Restoration's intrusions. (We went down the commercial owners and apologize for the incident the same day, and changed two ceiling boards for the owner at the cost of $30 and supplied them with a brand new dehumidifier for $299 for their use. The commercial properties were well maintained after our limited efforts. After Phoenix Restorations was rejected by the commercial owner, they proceeded to the common area ( which had no signs of visible damage) removed a base board, and hollowed out the partial wall to fan the inside without any communication with us to confirm this was necessary.

In addition, they went to our adjacent same sized unit and claim that the adjacent unit was affected, and placed two dehumidifiers and an unidentified number of fans in the kitchen area of unit (we are unable to determine the number of machines used for the adjacent unit from the billing invoice). Even though our washroom is adjacent to our neighbour's kitchen, the water damage in our washroom was very limited. Our vanity was completely dry without any signs of damage. We then wonder how it is possible that Phoenix Restorations claims water seeped to our neighbour's unit when our unit's epicenter was not at all impacted.

All claims were unilaterally made by Phoenix Restorations and we were left completely in the dark at all times . They never consulted with us before work was performed. After few weeks, the strata forward a bill totalling $12,000 for 4 days of service for our 650 square feet unit and minimal common area.

They then asked strata to permit them to approve more work, at additional costs. After we received the bill, and carefully went over the all items, we strongly believe the bill was very highly inflated and all the itemized costs were "unclean" so to speak. We immediately emailed the strata to notify them of issue and advised them not to pay any money before the Phoenix Restorations made the correct adjustments. We also asked the strata to not sign off on any further work forms that would give Phoenix the go ahead to deem the work complete.

There is more that cannot be posted due to space constraints.

      Updated review

After two weeks from my first review, they had all the work finished and they even cleaned our carpet. It seems that at least their customer service works. Thanks, Marty.

Brutal! I can write an entire page, however, I'm not going to spend the time.
They don't return calls - Jason, Mandy in particular. IF YOU DEAL with these people - its VERY IMPORTANT to document the time they arrive, how many staff (get names) and times of equipment dropped off/picked up. Then, check the billing invoice - as you'll see the invoicing is HIGHER in hours, staff, etc, then what actually took place. Fraud!
They will find ways to bill you..... BE careful.
Or simply do some research and find another company!
