Situation: A few years back we remodeled our upstairs guest bathroom which included tiling the bathtub shower area. We also purchased new fixtures to replace the old ones. As we neared completion of the tiling we realized the existing copper pipe feeding bathtub spout was too short. We called in a plumber to extend the half-inch copper pipe. After he finished we tiled in the enclosure.
Fast forward to this weekend: while a guest was showering we noticed water dripping into the downstairs entryway closet. I removed the fixtures and one piece of tile and discovered that a section of the copper pipe was never soldered in place. This section of pipe was about 16 inches long and had one 90° bend. One end protruded through a hole drilled through a tile that was still in place. The other end of the pipe is connected to a main junction and valve. The only way to repair or replace the section of pipe would involve cutting as there was not enough room to unscrew any of the connections. The length of pipe protruding through the tile had to be exact in order to fit the bathtub spout.
This problem was further complicated by a number of factors: A tight working space coupled with the fact that the pipe in question wound its way around the supply line pipes and my reluctance to tear out anymore tile made it impossible for me to attempt any do-it-yourself plumbing repairs.
Solution: This morning I used Yelp to select a plumber. Based on what I read, I chose Plumbing Solutions and gave them a call. After speaking with Joel, (who answered on the second ring) he agreed to come out today . He gave me a timeframe and told me he would call 30 minutes before his arrival. Within two hours, he called and 22 minutes later Joel and Hector came to my door and I showed them the problem.
Their written quote specifies a service and pricing structure broken out into five classes. The most minor repairs are Class 1 while the most complex jobs fall under Class 5. Each class has a list of the various services and repairs applicable to that class. Upon review I figured my problem was a Class 3 or perhaps a Class 4.
Joel told me my problem was actually just a Class 2: $220.00.
Joel clearly explained what he would do, he and Hector made repairs to the existing pipe and reassembled everything within 30 minutes.
Moreover, these repairs were done without the need to damage or remove any tiling.
Outcome: Joel and Hector were very professional and organized. I was very gratified and relieved to see what appeared to be a potential catastrophe averted with very thorough and competent repair.
So my week is starting out pretty good. I needed a plumber now, and got one almost immediately. They did a great job for the quoted price. I highly recommend Plumbing Solutions and would call them again without hesitation.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jason T.Berkeley, CA2403Aug 16, 2024
Readers digest version: Came to give an estimate when they said, even texting a few minutes before arrival. Explained the issue and have options on the repair. Was nearly half the cost of other estimates. Had all the needed parts and tools to fix the problem immediately.
We had a leaky outside faucet, the fixtures were original to the house, so 40+ years. We used Yelp to get a few quotes and had a few other companies reach out to come by. Other companies gave estimates of $900 for the repair and said they'd have to come back later with the parts.
Plumbing Solutions came in, gave us an estimate of $500 after explaining in detail the problem and possible solution. They had it fixed in an hour and didn't need to leave because they had everything with them. We upgraded from plastic doctors to all brass. Very professional and helpful. Added bonus, once the outside leak was fixed the pressure in the rest of the house increased substantially!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 27, 2023
They failed to fully fix our plumbing issue. First, I had them replace the plumbing to the main line and stuff and repair connection to the irrigation line for $1450. There was a bit of water settling on the ground still after his repairs, so he said he wouldn't put the soil back and will come back after two days to see if goes down and then he'll close and clean it up. He never did went back.
Plumber told us 2 year warranty yet massive fountain like leak after only 2 weeks. Since it was night time on a Sunday, they didn't come to fix or help us with the massive leak but deferred us to the city to turnoff the main line---which was costly since the city charges emergency after hour rates!
Plumber asked for another $895 to install pressure valve. The house had irrigation line for decades with no pressure valve. He assured me in the beginning that his repairs/replacements will be good and guaranteed and now he asked for another $895?! I said no and just had him closed/capped the connection to the irrigation line. He left the area messy still.
My water bill was crazy high!Helpful 10Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Darlene C.Nashville, TN02Aug 23, 2024
Sean & Patrick arrived at a great time & went straight to work checking out what the issue was. After checking several things carefully they rectified the problem & gave us a few solutions to it! I definitely would want them to come back out to do the work!!
I give a 4 because there's always room for improvement in any business, including my own!

Called Plumbing Solutions at about 7:00am as my ADA toilet broke. I needed to have a new ADA toilet installed ASAP for my elderly Father as the other bathroom in the house is not ADA accessible. Plumbing Solutions sent Jacob out and my new toilet was installed an fully functionable by 11:00am. Jacob purchased the Toto toilet that we requested. He was very efficient and left my bathroom/house clean. Emergency resolved. I am so happy that I chose Plumbing Solutions!

I called Plumbing Solutions because I thought I had a leak behind my shower wall. Eek! Mold! Termites! All kinds of things running through my head. It wasn't urgent, but I knew it would cost a pretty penny. The technician arrived the same day about 2hrs late and fixed the problem!

Never returned my request. Either they don't need the business or they have poor communication skills.

Called based on the 5 star reviews, got a no star treatment.
I called as we are doing a kitchen remodel. I asked if they could come out to give me an estimate. All new hardware is in the same location, so I pretty much need an installer.
The gentleman that answered the phone told me to call him two days before the job.
I asked if he could come out prior. He could be busy during my date requirements, I might not like the quote, does he have to order parts, etc.
He said, okay.. 4 days before.
This is the first contractor I ever called that seemed very aloof about how things work and scheduling.
I'd stay away.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Tom S.San Francisco, CA83241Jun 17, 2024
Came out quickly to take a look at a leak. Turns out it was bad tile work. Ed and team were great.
