I've driving by Frank's Bar I don't know how many times but this time I discovered Porque No? Tacos because I was using Yelp to find tacos! I'm no schill :)
The outside may look a bit dive-y but the inside is a nice neighborhood bar sharing the space is PN?T. There are various bar items and bfast is served all day. A mix of Mexican and burgers etc. And a great picture of their chilaquiles that I need to try next time.
The gent at the register was very cool as was the runner that brought my tacos.
I ordered 3 street tacos - chicken, steak and Al pastor. They came with little salsa containers- green and a red that was a neat color of brick/brown mustard. Both match really well with the tacos.
I have to say, I've lived most of my life in LA and I haven't really found tacos to match my history. This is not a NoCal v SoCal thing - l love both! I will say these reminded me of "home". :)
      I'll be back for more!

From upper left, al pastor, beef & chicken street tacos.

Can I just say after having previously being in the industry for so many years, growing up on mexican farm-to-table; being able to taste old oil, incorrectly stored food odors and the ability to feel the grime in the air when you walk in... this place is NONE of that.

This is not just a mexican food place to scratch an itch. It's amazing food to satisfy the itches of all itches. It tingles the taste buds even after you're done. And now let's add the attached bar that has amazing micheladas, they combines made the perfect Mexi-brunch.

The flavors are layered well, the consistencies are on spot. THE Salsa/chile is to die for. I swear I feel like I am still not doing this review justice.

The staff on the restaurant side and the bar were friendly, full of smiles and very welcoming. The place is well kept and tasteful. The music was not too loud. Make sure you turn left after your tire goes over the tracks; you would not want to miss out on this.

Overhyped. Upon entering the restaurant, I was hit by a strong smell of trash around the premises, which should have been a warning to leave. However, I decided to give it a chance based on the reviews.

The burrito was extremely greasy, and biting into it, I could taste old oil. It was disappointing, especially considering the high price. Additionally, the food took an excessively long time to arrive.

Overall, good! If I lived in the area, I would probably crave this once every couple months.

As mentioned in other reviews, this place is inside a bar but has a separate dining area. It does get super loud so it can be hard to have a conversation. It's also dimly lit and definitely has bar vibes so I wouldn't recommend this as a date night or anything like that.

The food at first glance looks pretty expensive. $16-17 for a burrito is pricey! However the burritos are really quite large and packed full of fillings. I did find the burrito to be a bit too wet/soggy inside, but scooping the filling with the chips was tasty. Burritos also come with a side of chips, so you will definitely be full. I can usually finish a burrito but I was seriously tapped out after half. The nachos were also really tasty and a good portion, as someone who loves cheese sauce lol. They were very accommodating with adjustments to the ingredients as well as I had friends who didn't want beans, cilantro, etc. They also give you free chips with salsa for the table, but the salsa tastes suspiciously like pasta sauce...however it was not bad and I'm definitely not complaining.

Service was slow overall. We waited probably 25 minutes for any food to come to our table. Additionally we kept getting asked if we wanted to buy flowers from random people, probably 4-5 times. It does get a little bit annoying and I wish the owners would prevent that from happening as it's disruptive to the dining experience.

My partner and I were craving asada nachos while we were in the city of San Leandro so of course I went on Yelp to search up what was nearby. Anyway, after looking through the reviews and the tasty pictures of the burrito, we ended up changing our mind and getting a burrito. We called in an order for a burrito with half steak and half shredded chicken and oh my... even as a person who comes from Stockton, a city known to have the best burritos and tacos, this has to be one of the most delicious burritos I've ever had. The burrito was smelling so tasty I finished the burrito on the car ride back home.

      Soooooo delish!
You go to the register, order, they give you a number, you pick a table and they bring the food to you. Easy breezy! The water is also self serve.
The bar area is separated from the dining with a chest level partition.
The place is clean and the ambiance is cool.
      Great hidden gem.

Located inside of a sports bar, there was plenty of parking in the back. The sports bar is large and also had many tvs playing sports game. I can see this spot being busy on a game day.

The service was friendly and you order at the counter and grab a number. I got to go and ordered two tacos and a burrito. While it is bit pricer than other Mexican restaurants, the food was great. My tacos shells were grilled to perfection and the red sauce was really delicious. My burrito was also nicely grilled and juicy.

Exhausted from work day (let's be honest, work week was long). Left the office on a Friday night late was getting hangry. Mexican food sounded like the nourishment I needed for the evening.

First time here. Came alone. It's part of a bar called Frank's. Usually I would be a little more self conscious coming into a bar alone but food was my target.

Got a Super Burrito with grilled steak. Grilled to perfection and filled with ingredient balance. Flavors were delish and the salsa has left me with a bit of zing and zang to carry with me! While I ate I found my head was bobbing to the music playing (a bit loud) in the background but the blend of busy people chatter, music bouncing, and simple laid back mood makes this a special spot. This place has a smooth and kicking vibe. Nice! Made me think of times in yonder past when staying out late with friends for some beers and bar food on a Friday night after work just chilling and hanging was a weekly norm! TVs have basketball games playing and I'm the verge of seeing if there is a dance floor. Haha!

Makes me feel a bit younger than I am. I have a smile on my face now and my exhaustion is now delayed.

Hit the mood I didn't know I still had in me!

Went here on a friend's recommendation. Ordered a Al Pastor Super Burrito and a Horchata to go. Complimentary chips and salsa added to the take out order.

We sat and watched large dishes coming out of the kitchen - really anticipating a tasty and big burrito. Brought our take-out order after salivating at the dishes and looked and wondered.. are we at Chipotle? The Super Burrito did not look too Super as in size. Took it home, cut through the fried tortilla skin (they crisp up the skin versus steam pressed like other places), not much meat,... disappointed for the price at $15+. I guess we'll go to an International Blvd truck if we want take-out. The portions on-site looked larger....will try dining in next time to see if there's a difference. The Al Pastor meat was lacking in volume, not evenly distributed, so we really couldn't taste the meat as much as the other fillers. Three stars for the take-out Al Pastor Super Burrito. Horchata was good. Will eat in next time and hopefully be more impressed....
