For large groups, I would recommend stopping by and giving a heads up. Other than that, this is a walk-in type place. No reservations needed!

A special burger but make it lettuce wrapped! Honestly the best burgers come from Project Burger! I forgot how delicious the first time I came here was! The owner cooked it himself and he made it so good!

I have to come back again soon.

Come and support a legitimate superb burger from here. You will not regret it!

The burgers are a real flavorful sky high stacked delicious burger. Move over Barneys! ! !
The meat is so flavorful and the combinations for toppings are fantastic.
I even went the turkey burger route and would do it again.
Service is timely for fresh hot food.
Ambiance...Surprise! There is enough space for a bar and to watch sports. I'm considering renting that bar area for a small event.

Eat here first then see your movie. Eat here after the movie and have beer or cocktail with it. Or just chill outside on the patio area. It's a vibe worth exploring.

      Enjoy!

After passing by countless times, we finally got a chance to check out Project Burger.

      And we're glad we did!

Ended up getting treated to burgers that we're so big that had to be cut with a knife. Chicken sandwiches have got a ton of meat as well, and everything is fresh to order.

Definitely going to make this a regular spot!

      Updated review

It sure did not take me long to return to Project Burger. That California Burger was so delicious that I returned earlier this evening to order two, one for me and one for my husband. I did not and could not wait until this Saturday for that California burger.

I'm hooked to that burger. It is not a 1/3 lb. ground beef pattie, but a 1/2 lb. ground beef pattie. In case people don't know the difference between 1/3 lb. and 1/2 lb., a pound is 16 ounces, 1/2 lb. is 8 ounces and 1/3 lb. is 5-1/3 ounces.

California Burger is not a fast food business. The burgers are freshly prepared. The wait for a food order can take more than 15 minutes. This visit is also an opportunity for me to get to know the owner. He's friendly and pleasant. I can say with no doubt I will return to try other items on the menu. The description of the turkey club sandwich has perked my interest.

In the future when Park Street is having events, I know to pay Project Burger a visit for burger and fries. I know a shake would be perfect, but no can do for health reasons.

Because I enjoyed the California Burger so much, I am raising the rating to 5 stars.

Best burgers in Alameda! We had two impossible burgers and two ground beef, choosing our toppings for each. The fries taste really fresh, and the Alameda soda was nice, too.
It is laid back inside with plenty of room to sit. Good service.

This place is small and unassuming. Almost looks closed. It's rarely busy, might even be empty. There's usually just one guy in there doing it all. With all that said, it's hands down my favorite burger on the island.

      TRY THIS PLACE OUT.

The flavors of his burgers are amazing. Perfect char on the burger, juicy, and cook exactly how you ask. I don't like any pink in my burger and he prepared it perfectly. He'll bring it to your table and pick up the trays when you're done. He's a nice guy and puts a lot of love into his food. Someone in another review said he even puts parchment or wax paper between the patty and bottom bun in to go orders so the bun doesn't get soggy. this is a beautiful and thoughtful touch.

I know it's easy to think Scolaris or Nations but Project Burger is really THE ONE. They even serve local Alameda soda flavors. I suggest the black cherry.

I strongly suggest eating here, if you're a burger person you will not want to miss this place.

Based on the reviews, I decided to check it out. Nothing ventured, nothing gained - and I love supporting local business. Got a hamburger, fries, and a beer. This cost nearly $40 with a 15% tip.

The portions are huge. The staff is nice. The place was a little empty. When I started eating, I realized why. The beef was like shoe leather - I don't know how long that patty was living in the freezer, but it must have been a while. The american cheese was a pale color, which is never a good sign, and fries kind of... limp.

Afterwards, I immediately ventured to the local coffee shop for an espresso to help me digest what I just ate, as it immediately gave me a heavy feeling.

The burgers lack any kind of flavor profile to distinguish them from the rest (for example, In N Out has a taste, McDonald's has a taste - you can't mistake one for the other). Yet, if I were to describe this, I would you the word "bland".

Sorry to leave such a review, but paying 40 bucks entitles me to an opinion.

Okay, I'm a burger enthusiast. A serious one, who's guilty of working a burger pop-up on the side. So, trust me when I say that I know my burgers. Yesterday, I visited this local joint with my girlfriend and our fur baby (yes, they're dog-friendly - outside seating for the win!), and it was nothing short of delicious.

Now, as a burger-aficionado, my order was a no-brainer: a grass-fed burger with that classic American cheese, hand-cut fries, and a fountain drink made with locally-sourced Alameda sodas. Remember, folks, a real cheeseburger's charm lies in that perfectly melted American cheese!

Here's where it gets impressive: the one-person army - the cashier doubling up as the chef. And, no, he wasn't just a stand-in; he was genuinely kind and helpful. Kudos to you, sir!

The burger was a masterpiece! Picture it: the buns, toasted to perfection, offered a slight crunch that contrasted well with the juicy, medium-rare patty. The toppings were fresh, and the house sauce - oh, the house sauce! It was flavorful, perfectly balanced, and did not overpower the burger's essence. And the cheese, it was beautifully melted, enhancing the rich beefy goodness.

I must say, it wasn't just a burger; it was well-crafted with balanced flavors and textures. Each bite was delicious, echoing the care and technique that went into its creation. I'm already craving it again.

The fries were also yummy too, and the secret? They're brined!

I'm already planning my next visit, intrigued by the Kobe burger on the menu.

If your heart (or stomach) is craving a great burger, I couldn't recommend this place enough. It's not just the food; it's the whole experience that leaves you wanting more. So, grab your favorite people (and furry friends), and head over for a night of yummy burgers!

Seeking a fantastic, super reasonably priced meal in Alameda? Or, how about beers and appetizers before or after a movie? (theater is next door)
      Project Burger is the place!

Grilled Halal chicken burger with Middle Eastern rub and house garlic sauce was delicious!
BLTA sandwich didn't skimp on ingredients either. Plenty of quality bacon!

Grilled fish tacos (not battered and fried)!! A rare find indeed!

Hand-cut fries (potato or sweet potato options).

Generous portions, incredibly wallet-friendly, nice decor, staff is attentive & courteous!

      Hope to see you there!
