Providence Water Heaters

This review is much delayed. I meant to write this right after my experience, which was in February. Anthony was very responsive to an emergency situation and I was so lucky to have found him.

The water heater at my rental in Moraga flooded out the garage and my tenant called me in a panic when she went downstairs in the morning. I didn't know what to do so I just started calling water heater repair services in the area, going through the list on Yelp. No one was available on such short notice, even though their ads suggested they could handle emergencies. I was desperate so just kept calling. Finally I reached Anthony and he made arrangements so that he could get over to Moraga within a few hours. I met him there and he was able to diagnose the issue and replace the water heater right then. The water heater was much older than I remembered, so this was definitely the only way to go. He also explained that the overflow wasn't properly installed previously which made the mess so much more than it needed to be. He fixed that as well. I was so relieved that he was able to take care of the problem and get water back on within just a few hours.

Anthony was a pleasure to work with. He's very knowledgeable, and was able to explain everything very thoroughly so that I understood the issues. His pricing was extremely reasonable and he was a nice guy! I would highly recommend him if you are in need of water heater service or a replacement unit.

In a nutshell Providence Water Heaters is excellent.

To replace our existing 15 year old gas tank water heater with an electric heat pump water heater and move the location from an external closet to the garage: Anthony came out, evaluated, saw what needed to be done and the next day gave us a quote. He has also taken care of the local (PG&E) and State Environmental incentives/rebates and will also take care of the inspection.

Since we required an electrical 240 volt connection prior to installing, he recommended an excellent electrician, whom we have since used on other projects.

On the day of the installation he came out with a crew of two more. I never had qualms of about asking the crew questions while they were working, to which they were helpful. Disconnection and removal of the old gas tank water heater, plumbing work under the house, installation of the new heater, electrical/plumbing connection, and set up were complete in less than 5 hours.

I want to convey my heartfelt gratitude to all the members of Providence Water Heaters team all who worked competently, and tirelessly - who I met by their first name Anthony, Andrew Lal, Jeremy, and one other person - to make world a better place for individuals like me.

After years going for the lowest costs, i have grown to appreciate companies like Providence who provide value.

Changing from gas to electical water heating can be complicated. However, they walked us though the electrical improvements and, most importantly, the rebates: He did all the paper work.

Yes, it was more up front but you will find out that with the rebates, the cost was the same as gas.
Now, zero gas bill!

You will be pleased with the service during, before and after the work.

Straight-forward work, no up-sell, prompt. The water heater started leaking only two years after installation (not their fault) and they had someone check it out within an hour of me calling and helped we get warranty coverage.

Our Navien tankless water was acting up on a Sunday night. I didn't know what to do so I called our rooter plumber for a referral. He recommended that I call Anthony at Providence Water Heaters. I called Anthony. I assumed I would get his voicemail. Anthony answered right away. He was very professional and easy to speak with on the phone. I texted him a few pics of our heater. He had Andrew come out to look at it and assess the situation. I am not familiar with tankless water heaters. Andrew was fantastic. He was very patient with me, and he showed me how our system worked. Andrew explained the issues to me in clear layman's terms. It turned out that they specialize in Navien water heaters. He answered all my questions and then he worked his magic. He was very thorough and professional. He cleaned it and replaced some valves. When he finished, Andrew showed me how to maintain it. I am going to schedule them to come out for annual cleaning and maintenance. If I run into another issue again, I will definitely call Providence. Providence came out to fix an issue with my Navien tankless water heater. Other so called "tankless experts" attempted to fix this issue but Providence, a certified Navien specialist, arrived quickly and promptly diagnosed the issue and repaired it within a matter of minutes. I learned more during this visit than all of the other attempts by other plumbers combined. I highly recommend them as a service provider and would use them again for other work.

Needed a replacement water heater after a leak. We decided to go from tank to tankless, which was a big change. PWH gave us the lowest quote, explained why the bells and whistles the competitors wanted to charge were unnecessary for our situation, and how they could do the install with minimal modifications. They then did the install quickly (which was key - we had no hot water). We have had one customer service question since then - which was handled same-day. 5 stars.

Being part of a HOA, we went through a long bid process and Anthony was very patient and stood by his Navien Product. I'm super pleased with the units we installed and the fact that we went with the Navien vs inferior versions even thought they are a bit higher priced. Anthony came and installed the units outside our building as they are very well insulated. Things have been working great ever since.

Anthony and his crew at Providence Water Heaters installed a tankless water heater for me about 6 months ago, to replace our old hot water tank that was inefficient and leaking. They showed up on time, worked through an issue that came up, and had the tankless unit up and running by the afternoon. They did an excellent A+ installation using high quality copper connectors designed to last and it looks very nice and tidy. The plumbing is setup for easy maintenance connections.

They returned a couple of times to add an accessory and adjust the drain connection. I had already paid for the job, and they still returned in a timely manner, arrived on-time, and completed the work in less than an hour, and it was good work. They also made minimal cuts into the drywall, which were easy to patch. This is EXCELLENT Customer Service.

The overall job was very well done and Anthony is great at communicating and customer service. I highly recommend them.

Anthony was excellent to to work with. In addition to installing our heat pump water heater, he is also knowledgeable about all of the rebate programs. And he also knows how heat pump water heaters work, which is a huge bonus. Some of the other plumbers can install the heat pump water heaters, but don't really understand how they work as compared to regular gas water heaters. Our new water heater is working great and my wife and I highly recommend Anthony and Providence Water Heaters.
