I carry the oily DNA of our small fleet of cars in my cuticles, so I am reluctant to hand them over to anyone else for service.

R&M is my most convenient site for a Smog Check, so I stopped by for the biannual probe of our TDI.

A 6 week old check engine light needed resolving before that could happen with registration deadline looming.

Mike and his brother took my car on same day notice and diagnosed the problem in a few hours. They repaired it and completed the smog test the next, communicating every step.

Mike then continued, for no extra charge, to drive, test and clear all 14 fault codes detected by the diagnostic computer. The TDI drivetrain is now fresh as the day we bought it.

A nice classic 450SEL in front that day showed I'm not the only one impressed with their work.

We have been going to R&M for over 30 years. I've gotten everything done here from tires, regular oil change and other services, control arms, everything. Roger and Mike are a wealth of knowledge and really know how to help you out! Kevin has helped me the last few times and I'm truly impressed by his ability to problem solve and get me back in the road! This is the best money can buy! Will always take my cars here!!

I was in a hurry to get a car smogged and these guys definitely took care of me. Kevin was fast and professional. The shop was clean and they were working on some nice foreign vehicles which shows their level of expertise. I recommend these guys moving forward and they will be my go to shop for any services I may need.

Called ahead to see if they could do a smog check, they said no problem. Brought it by and it was done in 15-20 minutes just like they said. Friendly guys.

I had to get a smog check and this place is close by not to mention my favorite donut shop is on the corner. I showed up and I couldn't quite get my car in so I had wait around double parked on the street until they could move cars around for me. Maybe about 10 minutes. Not bad. Once my car was in the shop, they immediately went to work while I got me a yummy apple fritter.

When I came back, it was just another 5 more minutes and it was done. The cost though was on the high end. In fact, the most I ever paid for a smog check around $70. Then again, it's only about $10 to $15 more than I would pay so for me, it's a convenience fee. Good, fast, very friendly service but more expensive than anyone else so 4 stars for this place and the donuts on the corner at Polk are really good and less expensive than anywhere else in SF. You win sometimes, you lose sometimes. Cheers!!

Never go here! Most overpriced auto repair in the city. Quoted 500, charged 950. 300 an hour for labor.

Kevin, Mike, and Roger are top tier! As someone who literally does business on the daily for them words can not express how grateful I am to have them on my side. From smog checks to services to service light resets, they have it all covered.

Got the brakes done on my Tesla after 100k miles, with complete replacement of pads, discs and such. Mike and his team were on top of it! They are friendly, on time and price was competitive and fair. It's few and far between that you come across shops like this. I would recommend!
