Just a bit of a background; I don't ever like my haircut as I leave the salon- I go home- rewash and restyle it and hope it grows in normal. In this case- I walked out feeling like a million bucks and the haircut is so perfect and easy to take care of- it's amazing !

I saw Crystal for the first time. She gave me the best blonde highlights I have ever received. It looked so natural and made me feel totally pampered. She told me her expertise is blondes and she was correct! I do suggest bringing a photo for the cut/trim you want.

Andrea is my go-to stylist for color in the East Bay! She does a wonderful job with my color, and I'm so glad I found her. I've been going to her for over a year now. I first booked her for a blowout/styling appt and she made me look fabulous! Now I go to her regularly for color maintenance.

I've been seeing Andrea for several years now and she has rescued my hair and has always provided me with the vibrant colors and styles I love! Andrea is a meticulous and very talented artist and always makes me feel comfortable and at ease with any new colors we try.

Rare Byrd salon is also as a whole super cute and has a great vibe all around! It's perfectly located in downtown Walnut Creek and I'm looking forward to coming here more often!

I've been seeing Andrea for a little over a year now. My hair has never been happier & healthier. I have super thick hair, which can be a pain, but Andrea knows exactly what products to use on me.. She is gentle and sweat as can be. She has excellent WC restaurant recommendations too.
I followed Andrea to Rare Byrd and I'm very happy about it. The salon is clean, spacious and lively. Great location with plenty of parking. I'm looking forward to more visits.

Rare Bryd is a bright and inviting salon located on the corner plaza of S Main St. and Newell Ave. The space is open and artistic. I especially love the live edge wood shelves that make up each hair station, as well as all the unique merchandise offered.

I see Andrea here for my hair cuts and colors. From A-Line cuts to long balayages, she's been so good! I naturally have dark brown hair and for the almost 4 years, she's managed to care for and guide me on keeping it fresh.

Love it here and would highly recommend!

I had my first appointment with Andrea in Dec 2023 and she is amazing! I wanted blonde highlights and a shorter cut with fringe bangs (which she talked me out of thank god). She has incredible attention to detail and my hair came out super dimensional and natural looking - she matched the highlights exactly to my natural highlights that happen in the summer. She's stuck with me now!
