Updated review, but instead of color this time, I got a cut!

I know my previous review was for a blue balayage I got from Jenna and I absolutely love it and still do, but it was just time for a haircut. I'm a pretty low-maintenance kinda gal and generally have little to no idea how I want my next haircut to be, so I've always dreamed of the day that I could say "Please do whatever you want with my hair!" to a hairstylist.

That's exactly what I told Jenna after I booked my haircut appointment on Yelp. But Jenna, being the greatest person I've ever gone to for hair and always wanting to work well with her clients, didn't get going to my hair right away. Instead, she sat me down and walked me through what she was envisioning (a lob-type cut with a certain shape + layering) and pulled up some quick photo examples to make sure she and I were on the same page. I honestly still wasn't quite sure what I wanted, but hey, the cuts in the photos looked good and the way Jenna was talking about how she would modify them slightly to sit well with how I style my hair (pretty much wash and go) made me sure that Jenna was gonna do some great work.

And I was NOT disappointed! I waited a bit to write this review because usually when I do a hair chop, I leave the salon feeling pretty okay, but then a few days later, regret it because I always look like a Christmas tree. I don't think I could tell you exactly what Jenna did, but whatever it was is amazing. My hair dries and styles effortlessly even with a wash-and-go routine with shorter hair that I usually have some issues with and best of all? I feel super confident with this cut!

Through it all, Jenna was her usual self. Super chill and considerate and LASER focused when she was cutting and styling. Something I super appreciate about her since I'm not the most chatty of people myself and it's a testament to how much she cares about each client's hair.

Final comment about Reconnect Hair Design as a whole -- every time I've walked in, I've felt super welcomed. The place is clean, everyone's super friendly and nice, and once I'm in that chair, I can tell that all the other stylists really take care of their clients. I can't even tell when people are returning clients or new! It's great to know there's a place where all the stylists share the same values of making sure their clients leave the place with confidence.

Decided to come here after reading all of the great reviews and I was not disappointed. I booked a Balayage and cut with Jenna. PS - Thank you, Jenna, for always slaying my hair!

The salon is very clean inside and everyone there is very friendly. They immediately offer you coffee, water, tea, etc. as well as show you around and get you situated. No one there pressures you to buy the products or tools (which is pretty nice since most salons do).

Jenna is not just amazing at hair, but also a fun person to talk to! She takes her time (I was there 5+ hours -- she's dedicated). She will listen to what you say you want and also go over pictures with you so that you both understand the style/look you are going for. It isn't going to be cheap, but I promise it is worth it!

Jenna is amazing!! She is so attentive to my wants and my hair needs. My hair is very curly and frizzy and previous hair stylists just haven't known how to handle it. Jenna was so careful with my hair that I felt she treated it like her own. She even gave me some great styling and care tips! Her passion for her job really shines through her final product.

10/10 recommend Jenna for curly girls, and anyone who is in looking for an attentive and personable stylist!

My boyfriend being the gem he is researched places and came across a ton of good places we called around and decided to go with Jenna from reconnect. She was super helpful and told us she was willing to stay later which was amazing because it was a Sunday and who wants to work late on a Sunday.

Jenna is one hell of a hairstylist. She doesn't beat around the bush and she's always happy to give you her suggestions. She's honest and explains every detail on what she is doing to your hair. I can't stress enough how great she is. Although I had to go shorter then planned she made me feel so good about it and the cut was the best I have had.

The ambiance of the salon is amazing, the playlist that was playing was great and all of the hairstylists seemed to vibe so well together. You can tell they all love what they do.

I highly recommend Jenna but I am sure ANY of the stylists there are good.

You guys, I never write reviews, but I witnessed some next level magic today with Jenna, SuperStylist Extraordinaire and I really need to share it with everyone! Let me set the stage for you:
For almost two months now I've been holed up in my apartment dreading any contact with the outside world. Why? I got my hair botched, I mean BOTCHED. Not just the color but the cut too! It was real bad. I had six different colors in my hair, and not on purpose. My cut was somewhere between scene chick and 1960s shag, with uneven bangs to top it all off. Never let someone do your hair when their babysitter cancelled, but I digress. After that disaster I babied my hair to get it back to a healthier state.
If you've ever had to call a salon to inquire about a color correction, you know how nerve wracking it can be. A lot of places will make you feel terrible for even asking, (sometimes it's not our fault!!) or give you some insane price estimate to scare you off. But when I called Reconnect, they were sweet and understanding and booked me a consultation with Jenna right away. They were the only salon in the area that even answered my call or returned my messages! That already says a lot about their professionalism.
I met with Jenna and she was so kind and reassuring. She walked me through the process, honestly explaining everything and listening to my questions/comments. She booked me for the next day and even came in early to make sure we had enough time for my appointment! She was upfront about the cost and made sure I was comfortable with everything she had to do.
And let me tell you, Jenna had to do A LOT. She spent over five hours on my hair, explaining each step, and working quickly and efficiently to preserve the integrity of my hair. She was so friendly too, and not in a fake way. I completely trusted her to do what she thought was best and I'm so glad I did!! My hair turned out AMAZING! It's shiny, feels better, and is a beautiful brunette color with highlights and balayage. I left the salon feeling like a million bucks. All the other stylists were so positive and encouraging as well, it's a really great environment to be in. No catty stylists who think they're too good for you! There's a reason most of their clients have been going there for years, and I can't wait to join the club.
Jenna, if you read this, thank you again a thousand times over. I feel so pretty again and it's all thanks to you!

I saw Jenna at Reconnect a couple of weeks ago. I waited to write this review to see how my hair faired through different types of styling, weather and after that initial hair shock when you get it cut. I was really scared trying a new place because i have curly hair and have had horrible past experiences. I LOVED JENNA! She did an amazing job. In fact, i told a few friends that she was like a curly hair philosopher. Jenna did my initial cut while my hair was dry/curly, then she went back through while it was wet/curly to see how it would look that way too, and finally checked again after blowing out my hair and straightening it. I wear my hair all three ways all of the time so this detail was fantastic.

I love the cut and have gotten many compliments on it.

I would highly recommend that anyone (especially those with curly hair) get an appointment with Jenna.

I needed an ASAP root job 2 months ago. Fate handed me Jenna. She was so sweet and easy to work with - at total short notice! Revised roots and a cleansing haircut - I was very pleased. I saw her again today for full color and highlights. Love the results! If you need a super chill gal who you can trust to get you back in the game... Jenna. Enjoy!

My boyfriend and I had haircuts with Reconnect last weekend. Karry did his hair and Jenna did my hair because Karry is a senior stylist and charges more if she does girl's hair than guy's hair. It was a good experience and I like our new hair style. Karry tended to speak a lot which Jenna was more focused in cutting my hair. The price is decent and it's very easy to make a reservation through Yelp.

I came for a shampoo & haircut last Tues, Oct 1st. I haven't had a cut in over a year and I was way overdue. I called the same morning and got an appointment right away. I was introduced to Jenna who is awesome. She's such a cool, personable girl that knows her shit. I was extremely impressed with her work and even more admired at how much she enjoys her job.

I will definitely be back to see her. 5 stars for Jenna!!!
