Bought a murphy bed/desk combo from here about two years ago. Wonderful piece of furniture with a price that matches the quality. We love it because we can use the room as an office, guest bedroom, or yoga room. Perfect for our small apartment. Their colour options worked perfectly with the rest of our furniture too (white with a green desk). It's really easy and smooth to open the bed or lift it back up even though we have a really heavy mattress on it.
Keep in mind that since it's custom made in Italy, it takes a very long time for delivery (months. plural), but it's worth the wait if you want something this innovative and high quality. Also, make sure the mattress you buy isn't too thick to fit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rene W.Los Angeles, CA5154Dec 30, 2015
This is a review for a transforming table I bought back in 2012.
Product: 5 stars
In store service: 5 stars
After sale service: initially 2 stars, then improved to 4 stars (This was a few years ago though--they had just newly opened so I'm sure it was more chaotic, so this may not speak to their current service)
In 2012 Feb I bought a transforming table (Saliscendi Table with white open pore laqcuer) from them. This was when they were still on Water street. The table had to be custom-made in Italy so the expected delivery time was about 4 months. However, there was a railway strike and there were issues in Italy so the production was delayed, and the delivery was delayed.
I didn't end up receiving the table until almost a year after I paid.
The staff members and the store manager David were extremely friendly, sincere, professional and helpful whenever I was in the store. They did whatever they could to make sure they could give me a product that perfectly fit what I was looking for, which was very specific and why it had to be custom made in Italy.
After I made the purchase and while I waited for the delivery, in the beginning I felt the service was really bad because there was zero follow-up--they did not inform me about the delays until I finally asked them after not hearing from them at all for months...not the customer service you'd expect after buying a product over $2k. However, they did apologize and explain it was because they had only newly opened so there was a lot of chaos.
The store manager's service after my initial complain after waiting for 6 months became really great. He explained their situation, gave me a similar table from the show room to use while I waited (which I really appreciated).
I ordered/paid for the table in 2012 Feb, and finally received the table 2013 Jan.
The product itself is absolutely top quality. It's exactly what I wanted, extremely versatile, and elegantly modern and beautiful. I have been using it for almost 3 years now and it still looks brand new and I still love it. The quality is lasting and durable. I'd say even though waiting for a table for almost a year sounds ridiculous, the table was worth the wait. (I'd say though--I'm happy I waited to give the review--I think I probably wouldn't given a 1 star review had I written this review while waiting because I was pretty irate, but I waited to give a more fair & objective review).Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Peter R.Vancouver, Canada041Mar 16, 2014
We moved into one of Vancouver's mico-condos and needed solutions for how to maximize the space.
The folks at Resource Furniture completed a site measure, conceptualized plans, recommended great product options, and delivered a quality product. We are quite satisfied with the installation and functionality of the product. No regrets. I recommend them to friends all the time.
We did have an issue with some shelves and a glass door arriving damaged. Although we had to wait for the replacement items to arrive by shipping container, the pieces were replaced without issue. I expect that our installation will deliver for years to come.
Overall, we are quite pleased.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christa O.Vancouver, Canada03Jan 30, 2017
I love both the people at this store and the products they sell. The furniture is truly top-notch: functional, stylish, and well-constructed. I first found them by accident, back in their smaller location on Richards street, and as soon as I wandered in I realized I was going to spend a LOT of money in the store!
I recently downsized quite aggressively and the way this furniture serves multiple purposes means that you can literally transform your space and gain valuable room no matter how small your footprint. I ended up making quite a huge purchase and I have not regretted it for one second.
During the period I was making my decisions, I worked primarily with Louise. She was kind, patient, FUNNY, and really "got" me. I don't have buckets of money but I had put aside what I needed for this project. She was really respectful about my overall budget and never tried to upsell but she wasn't shy about giving her opinions, either. She knew I was often overwhelmed by too many choices and so really tried to help me feel calm and unhurried when deciding on the overall layout. I had her over to my new space to make a 3D design and I can't recommend that service highly enough. it really ends up costing you nothing so do yourself a favour and book that.
The installation was pretty expensive but I did buy a huge amount of furniture, and there is no way I wanted to do that myself. Ikea furniture this is NOT. It is sturdy and strong and has a life-time guarantee, and I don't think it exactly just snaps together. The installers are just terrific: clean, prompt, dedicated, and they won't stop until they have everything right. There were a couple of errors with shipping and one tiny flaw in a piece that still needs to be rectified, but Louise was so quick to deal with things and I feel completely assured that everything will be A-ok. The shipment times mean I will wait a little while for the new piece to replace the one with the tiny flaw in it, but that is well beyond their control and really not an issue.
Resource Furniture is a terrific store. The products are unbeatable, and completely unique. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. You may be able to find cheaper murphy beds in this town, but you don't think you will find anything that matches the quality and workmanship of these products. You will feel supported as you make your purchasing decisions, like a valued customer instead of just a number. I honestly can't say enough good about this place!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bevin A.Vancouver, Canada03Jan 16, 2017
My husband and I purchased the Ulisse Desk Transforming Queen Wall Bed from Resource Furniture in 2015. We have a two bedroom condo in Vancouver and were looking for a solution to allow us to use the second room as an office most of the time but also provide a comfortable queen size bed for guests when we have visitors.
The people at Resource Furniture in Vancouver took the time to show us all the options to enable us to select the right product for our needs. They came to our place to take measurements and design the space and their installation service was top notch. Our Ulisse Desk provided the dual functionality for our space. The desk works well and the bed is very comfortable. We love it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Shila B.Vancouver, Canada17512858734Jul 21, 2016
I've been here before to shop on behalf of a client who needed some simple and timeless pieces for their home. I appreciate the neutral tones and the clean simple cuts. This gives room to jazz things up through accessorizing. I saw these guys for a business meeting to potentially work with them on an ongoing basis, however, the project/situation didn't pan out. This review is based on communication, business etiquette and passion. These are the things in the business world that are few and far between. I was very pleased with how they presented themselves. David was more than accommodating to reschedule the meeting with me the first time which was appreciated.

I promised I'd update my review so here it is. I cannot believe how much time as passed! I've had the furniture for awhile now. I'm happy with the furniture and its space saving capabilities. I really needed it for my tiny downtown apartment. In the end, everything was delivered as promised. I'd love to see developers and architects offer Resource Furniture space saving solutions in the units they offer. With all the social media shares I've seen on Facebook, I think it would add to the value and saleability of apartment units. It's not often we get businesses that sell awesome products in Vancouver so I think it's nice to show our support if we can. Special thanks to David who helped me along the way to deliver what I was expecting. I think he took over the business since I put in my initial order so there were blips which he did his best to fix. It isn't easy running a business like this one so I really appreciate the effort.
Two things I should mention to future owners: Use a pad for the desk- Mine was white and I spilled something on it and the stain could not be removed. One of the units I purchased functions but the lock comes lose. I was warned by the people putting the unit up that something like this would happen due to something that had to do with my apartment but I can't for the life of me remember.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 2, 2012Previous reviewI'll update my review after I have my second piece installed. There is a new owner and I purchased from the old owner. For now, I'll comment on the furniture alone. It is very functional and the quality is solid. The price points are high, and I'd say it's like buying a designer dress- you're paying for the design, more so than materials. The installation cost itself is separate-I was charged for time the truck left the loading area. Installation alone for one piece, with tax was $1075. (no, I didn't leave out a decimal point). I like my piece, and I'm interested in buying something else but I am undecided at ths point about how I feel about the overall value ...to be continued....

We recently purchased a Coffee/Dining table and Wall Bed from Resource Furniture. The service we received was excellent, I noticed a mark on the coffee table the night it was delivered. I contacted these guys, they were on it straight away. They sent the nicest guy to fix the problem immediately. Very impressed with their customer service from start to finish, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. The products are beautiful and service, second to none.

I first visited Resource Furniture in 2014. I found the staff to be very helpful, understanding and professional. I felt in working with them I was getting the benefits of hiring an interior design firm but only paying for a furniture order. They visited my condo, suggested ideas for installing their furniture and I placed an order. The furniture arrived from Italy in the time frame expected (Spring 2015) and the installation went smoothly.
Throughout the process I found their communications timely, thoughtful and professional. My order was quite complex and involved design and installation in three different rooms. Lots of things could have gone wrong but any fears I had were unfounded. In the end I am very happy with my furniture and every aspect of dealing with Resource Furniture. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and would certainly buy from them again.
I would give them my highest rating!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Luka M.Vancouver, Canada01Nov 20, 2013
I've recently had a great experience with the company. I moved into an apartment in the Westend about a year ago. Technically 2 bedrooms but my second bedroom was so small, the bed took up the entire room and I really needed it for an office space as well as a guest room. As soon as I typed "space saving" into Google, Resource Furniture came up and I was delighted to find that they had a location in downtown Van. There was a couple of people there when I visited. First of all, they were really nice, welcoming and all that jazz.. They showed me everything they had but when I told them what I needed, there were able to narrow it down immediately as well as give me prices on the spot. There was a sticker shock for sure but the more I though about it.. How much more would it cost me to buy and apartment with an entire extra room?? Definately worth it anyway. They came to my home with all their samples and measured the space. They then made a 3Dversion (somehow) so I cold see EXACTLY what it wold look like.. I changed my configuration about a million times but that was no problem for them. They were happy to help me out with my budget and they kept me up to date on tracking my order.
IN relation to the installation, I couldnt do it myself as I am not handy at all! They recommended another company to me who were awesome, they picked up my unit, brought it to my apartment, built it, tested it unitl it was perfect and they even cleaned up after themselves!
I even got a follow up email from the owner ensuring that everything went smoothly.
All in all.. Great company that I'm happy to recommend!
I've had my unit for over 6 months now and it still works as if its brand new!
Love it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
