      SUPER IMPRESSED.

Ive eaten the best Mexican food in California & Texas and this was on par.

Cleanliness was great - washroom was so clean in the Cook St Village food court. You can see the food being made. Also the Service was great, the chef that works there had a good personality.

The food the chef makes is divine, a piece of art and all combined with the most subtle Mexican home made spices and hot sauce.

Chicken Enchiladas 5/5 - Best part is the chicken and salsa verde sauce was SO delicious, the flavours will blow you away - lime zesty tomatillo sauce, gorgeous roasted free range chicken, comes with spiced moist cumin rice and lovely bean and home made fried tortillas.

Fish tacos 5/5 beautiful arrangement of veggies, delicious fish, freshest corn tortilla and what makes it the best is his home made hot sauce.

If I could I would give this place 6/5....
Amazing work Rica Salsa, you guys are awesome. GRACIAS!!

Chicken Enchiladas with the most amazing lime zesty tomatillo verde sauce. The rice was perfect!
Local Fish Tacos, fresh in flavours and more than 9 vegetables and delicious fresh fried chips. Just a piece of art!!

Unfortunately, our second visit here didn't meet up to our first a couple of years ago. I should have listened to a friend and former regular who said Rica Salsa isn't as good as it used to be.

I had a chorizo burrito, and my partner a chicken burrito. Great sauce, and equally great house hot sauce. The ingredients of both burritos were luke warm at best, cold at worst. My burrito had a couple of bites of chorizo sausage and what appeared to be a small smear of beans... the rest was rice. Most of the burrito was rice only!

Sorry, but I can't recommend this place. It's capable of producing far better food, and I like places that are consistent.

The best Mexican restaurant in Victoria! No kidding! Enchiladas supreme! Highly recommended. No fancy chain restaurant here. Funky little place with friendly folks. Very authentic menu. Great location.

Seriously the best burrito I've ever had! I got the chorizo burrito with extra spicy. It was an absolute explosion of flavors in my mouth. From the amazing chorizo, to the bite of the hot salsa, to the unexpected sweetness of the pineapple, I was consistently surprised by each bite. The chips and salsa were garnished with cilantro, onion, and a great sauce. My wife got the beef tacos which were also a flavor explosion. If we lived near this I would eat a few times a week no doubt! Also some extremely nice people working!

The most authentic Mexican restaurant in Victoria according to Mexican friend. Your experience will ne better if you go there on a sunny day to eat on the deck. Whatever you take, it's flavourful. My favorite are thé enchilada and the Azteca soup (with a hint of cilantro.

Great find off of Cook Street. Super nice staff and unique and flavorful tastes. Ordered beef tacos which had a bit of beans, beef, cilantro, onion, cabbage and salsa. Husband had a tasty chorizo burrito. I had a few bites and the chorizo is awesome. Do yourself a favor and swing by.

Southern California transplant's that have been searching for the best Mexican food restaurant in Victoria. I think we finally found our place as I took my family to this Cook Street Village hole in the wall. All the dishes we ordered were fresh and fantastic. We ordered steak tacos, fish tacos, a chicken burrito, and kids quesadillas they all were so delicious. The food is very authentic and the chef is very personable. The place is small but accommodates a few tables of people, it's like eating in a neighbors kitchen. The food is being prepared right behind the counter as you wait, it almost feels like you have a personal chef. I'd highly recommend going here and my family and I will be back soon.

The food at this tiny place was good, and quite authentic. The portions were modest. The prices, however, especially for an order-at-the-counter spot with seating for six people, were pretty high. Three dollars for a small can of Coke? We won't be back.

This tiny place is a one man show. A few tables for 2 inside and a few larger tables outside. It's not a place to go with a big group, or if you have to have something fast. But if you are missing Mexican food from the lower 48 , it really hits the spot.

The owner, Gustavo, is from Puerto Vallarta. This isn't the usual bland Canadian Mexican where there is like no spice. Nor it is the kind of Mexican that is about huge amounts of food for cheap. Instead, what you will get is food made with care and quality ingredients.

We had a bowl, the chicken tortilla soup, the lobster enchilada special, and fish, chicken, and beef tacos. The bowl was delicious -- rice, beans, a protein, guacamole, salsa, radish, cilantro, corn, white onion, lime, pickled slaw, a couple of different salsas. The soup had good heat from real chilies , corn, avocado, cilantro, crunchy chips . The tacos are served on mini sized corn tortillas-- a smear of black beans, a couple spoonfuls of protein, and some garnishes. It wasn't the usual California fish taco ( cabbage, crema, pico de gallo, crunchy fish). The enchilada plate comes with rice and beans, and was the most filling if you are hungry. I think if I went back I would get either a bowl or the enchiladas.

This is not Taco Bell. Your taco will cost $6, and you will need at least 3 to make a small meal. Bowls and enchiladas will run you $14. Then again, the salsa is not out of a supermarket jar, the fish is fresh, and the beans are the bomb. You grab your own silverware and get your own water.

The area that it is in was a nice place to stroll. Not quite as overrun with tourists as the harbor area, some other restaurants that looked promising, three small independent markets with local produce , organic coffee, a seafood market, an upscale boutique. No trashy souvenir stores

I lived in California for a decade and this was the first time I have had any Mexican food in Canada that reminds me of the meals we used to get in SoCal by the beach. If you are hankering for that kind of food, this is your place.
