I was looking forward to trying this new restaurant in downtown San Jose and came here with a couple of friends on a quiet Monday night. While not super busy, the space was great - nice design and felt very hip.

We shared the eggplant rollatini for an appetizer, which was good - nothing super amazing but eggplant + tomato sauce is my favorite flavor combo so couldn't go wrong here. I got the "thousand layer lasagna" for my main, which was fun and unique. I really liked the concept and the bottom layer was crispy & caramelized which added a nice flavor. The tiramisu for dessert was probably the best thing we ate though!

Rollati markets itself as celebrating Italian American cuisine, which I usually think of as being heavier/cheesier than traditional Italian food, and I actually think the food here at Rollati was more in between that - and maybe even slightly towards the traditional Italian end of the spectrum. Nothing wrong with that (tbh what I prefer), but just thought I'd help set expectations!

The staff and servers were very friendly and helpful with recommendations throughout our night here. Overall a pretty decent meal and more of what downtown San Jose needs!

I was here to celebrate my birthday with a friend , and had a reservation for this place on open table. We were seated right away. The ambience is pretty nice and classy. As vegetarians we tried the following:
Garlic bread : 4/5. It was a nice dish.
Eggplant Parmesan: 2/5. We both aren't big on eggplants , so we didn't really like this dish. And felt like the eggplant was too tough to slice through.
Margherita Pizza : 5/5. This was by far the best dish. Really enjoyed it.
On a side note they did make the dinner special, they got us a dessert at the end of the dinner.

First visit was early in their new opening. Since then, the service continues to be pretty good, and the food is improved. IMO, the food is still fairly greasy and oily, but tasty. Their fresh dishes like the salads and desserts are delightful. Interestingly, both visits were on a weekend evening and both times, they were fairly quiet.
      So why 4 stars?
We made a note this was for a birthday and was told it would be celebrated with a card and a birthday treat.
We all ordered dessert and did not rely on that to be our only dessert, but they did not bring it out.
Just would have been nice to not be over promised. They did give the card early upon arrival.

OMG, if you love pasta, you NEED to check this place out! The handmade pasta is next-level--seriously, it's so fresh and amazing. I tried the spicy rigatoni à la vodka, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best I've ever had! Creamy, flavorful, and just pure bliss.

And let's talk cocktails--they're on point! Super well-balanced and delicious, they pair perfectly with the meal. The vibe is cozy and the staff are super chill and friendly.

This place is officially my new favorite spot. Go treat yourself; you won't regret it!

Rollati is a great addition to the Downtown SJ food scene. The decor is really stunning and the food is next level. I've been here a few times for dinner and really enjoyed everything. Just recently I tried brunch, and I think it needs a few tweaks to be really excellent.

We sat outside and there is a DJ, which really is fun. You have a good choice between traditional brunch items and of Italian lunch items. My Mom and I split the thousand-layer lasagna, and I had really hyped this up based on the dinner versions I had. The brunch version felt re-heated from the night before, and was too crispy and burnt in some spots. The ragu sauce is still great and we also got the meatballs on top, which was over the top.

They do have a good, affordable wine list and fun brunch drinks too!

Erm... this restaurant was just OK IMOP which I was slightly disappointed by, as I had seen so many other people talk about Rollati on social media.

My friend and I came here on a Saturday night for dinner, and we had made a reservation ahead of time, which I think is needed, since the restaurant got pretty packed soon after we were seated. The entire menu honestly all sounded so delicious, that my friend and I ordered two (2) appetizers and two (2) entrees to share.

Fritto Misto (3/5) - This was kind of mid - the batter was so doughy that it wasn't an enjoyable experience eating the dish.

Garlic Bread (4/5) - Honestly carb heaven - so so so buttery and I loved how the bread was baked to perfection as well. For $10, I would have expected a larger portion :')

Spaghetti Alla Limon (2/5) - Incredibly disappointed by this dish. So oily, especially after ~10 minutes of serving, and the dish felt almost inedible. There was so much oil that it started to conglomerate :') The flavor of the lemon was weak as well; would have preferred a stronger lemon flavor.

Chicken Parm (?/5) - My friend had ordered this dish, and I didn't try much of it, but such a big serving LOL it was like the size of two hands, if not larger. Wish that translated to some of the other dishes' portion sizes.

Service was good throughout the night, ambiance was nice as well. Felt like a nice spot for a date ambiance-wise, or honestly for a business lunch/dinner as well. There is plenty of street parking nearby the restaurant.

This restaurant has been in my bookmarks for months! I was finally able to try this place on a Sunday evening. We were immediately seated for a table of 2 after walking in around 5:30 PM. It has indoor, bar, and outdoor seating available.

After eating and walking around DTSJ, we ended our food adventure at Rollati Ristorante, so we ordered 1 antipasto and 1 handmade pasta.

Spaghetti e Pomodoro - 4/5 stars. A classic spaghetti without meat sauce for $20. The sauce was a little tangy but nice and refreshing. The spaghetti pasta used in this dish was larger than the other pastas I had from other restaurants. Felt kind of like I was eating udon. Other than that, it was good.

Meatballs - 2/5 stars. Added 3 meatballs onto the dish for $10. The flavor was underwhelming and it didn't really taste/stand out/was plain. The sizes of the meatball were also shammy as other restaurants serve huger portions for about the same price. It tasted like it was boiled to me instead of oven baked/pan baked because there was no texture to it.

Prosciutto di parma - 4/5 stars. $25 for a two slices of bread, burrata, and a very generous serving of prosciutto. I ate the bread, burrata, and prosciutto separately because the burrata masked the taste of the prosciutto, otherwise a solid dish for burrata lovers.

Service - 5/5 stars. Nice staff and fast service. We were seated and served food really quickly that we were in and out of the restaurant within 1 hour. The restaurant was clean and has a nice lounge-vibe to it.

      Overall 3.75/5 stars.

This restaurant is pretty and elegant. Came here for lunch but definitely will come back for dinner because I feel it will have such different vibes!

Overall all the food is pretty good. The pretty restaurant compliments the food and makes this a great experience. It is a nice restaurant to celebrate special occasions with friends/family. Also, the service and staff are great and friendly!

Came by without a reservation on Saturday night and was seated right away. The restaurant had a good flow and I like that they had live music to keep the atmosphere upbeat.

Service was good. Everything felt clean and I liked the restaurant decor/lighting. For food, we ordered:
      -Mozzarella sticks
-Thousand layer lasagna with the meat sauce
      -Chicken piccata

Mozz sticks were our favorite. The chicken piccata was cooked well, the mash was very rich and felt like it had just a bit too much garlic (and I'm a fan of garlic!). I think it lacked a bit of acidity / the caper aspect of the dish. The thousand layer lasagna was okay. I was disappointed that I asked ahead of time to ensure it was hot when it came out, and it came out cold. /: Could have used some additional tomato sauce.

Overall I think there's a lot of potential here, but for the price point (~$30 per dish) I expect a little more when it comes to the quality of my meal. If in the area I'll definitely come back to try out other dishes/cocktails.

Rollati Ristorante offers a charming blend of classic Italian flavors with a modern twist, making it a must-visit for both locals and visitors. Nestled in a cozy yet elegant setting, the restaurant boasts a warm, inviting ambiance with soft lighting, chic decor, and a welcoming staff that immediately makes you feel at home. They have the amazing food options . I ordered Garlic bread pasta and cappuccino coffee.

I was here a few weeks ago for a friend's bachelorette dinner (party of 7) and had a great time! We were set to arrive 30-45 minutes before our reservation, so we called ahead and Rollati said they would be able to accommodate us, which was awesome.

We were seated at a table in an alcove towards the back of the restaurant. I loved that it was far enough from the other tables that it felt like we were in our own bubble, so talking was easy. Our server was also amazing; she had such great energy and let us know that accommodations could be made for certain items. One example was for the mocktails - one friend doesn't like the taste of non-alcoholic liquor, so our server let her know that those drinks could be made without it.

I also liked that there was a good selection of vegetarian items on the menu. Most Italian places cook meat directly in the sauce, which limits my options as someone who doesn't eat red meat.

For appetizers, we got the garlic bread and mozzarella sticks, which were both delicious. Not too salty or greasy at all. For my entree I chose the "rigatoni alla vodka" and added grilled chicken. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was simple but flavorful. The chicken was a bit bland but in the end I was glad for that because it let the flavors of the sauce shine through. The portion sizes were perfect as well - I felt full but not overwhelmingly so, with just enough room for dessert.

For my drink I tried the "calabrian kick margarita", which was good but a little too savory for my taste. I wish the blood orange and lime flavors had stood out more. If you prefer sweeter drinks I'd skip this one.

For dessert we all shared the tiramisu, chocolate budino (which is like a chocolate mousse/pudding), and the gelato sundae with chocolate and vanilla gelato plus caramel and chocolate sauce. They were all really good without being overwhelmingly sweet. My personal favorite was the gelato sundae.

I had such a great experience that I can't wait to come back again! I was especially impressed by their willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences for a larger group like ours, so definitely recommend this place for anyone with similar needs.
