Sacramento Airport Daily Parking Lot

East? West? is this new?

Sacramento must've experienced a growth because the airport opened a permanent second economy lot. Whuut?? The shuttle bus that will drop you back to the economy parking lot will now say EAST or WEST Economy on their LED destination signs. The initial current economy lot is now EAST Economy. I'm not sure how long this has been going on but we found this out last night when we arrived from our travel and waited for that shuttle to take us to our car. We parked at Q40... this is located at the East Economy parking lot.

Be mindful that there is no walking path that will take passengers straight to the airport (well, maybe there is but it's a long walk since this parking area is the farthest from the terminals), use common sense and be aware that parking will fill to capacity during peak travel times so arrive early to secure a spot because parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Electronic road signs that informs motorists about shuttle service picking up at 25-30 minute intervals are set up prior to entering the lot. With that said, at $10/day (max) this is still our cheapest option for parking for a short weekend getaway. Any trips that will take longer than 4 days we take Lyft to the airport.

Remember where you parked! I usually take a photo of the aisle sign before we hop on the shuttle bus.

Oh, the West Economy Parking is pre-pay by license plate. I don't know much about it.

Parking at Sacramento AP is absolutely terrible. Lots are full. Shuttle Busses run infrequently. They are now price gouging customers. Best to Uber and avoid parking like the plague.

It's a nice option between hourly and economy for shorter times out of town. Added bonus if you're running late. Parking availability is mostly good, even when the hourly lot is full or nearly full. The buses come by at acceptable intervals. You can walk to the terminal if you'd like.

Another horrific experience with Parking at SMF waiting for the daily parking shuttle bus. People waited and finally decided to walk. Unfortunately, I am in a knee brace, but after waiting 35 minutes for a bus I had to walk the 20 minutes to my car.

Buses that pick up for all of the other locations went by least two times. Lack of buses and drivers does not seem to be the problem. It's the assignment of the buses to the destinations. There appears to be only one bus that goes to the daily lot.

I have come to the conclusion that management is obviously incompetent or they just don't care. If there's a manager or someone in charge, they need to pay attention or be fired.

There are a couple of fairly easy fixes if anybody cares:

Add an electronic communication board that conveys the status of the buses arrival. Of course, this would require the managers knowing what their staff are doing.
At least, then you could make an informed decision as to whether or not you wanted to walk.

Use dynamic scheduling so that buses can be diverted to where the need is. There were three buses for West economy that passed by the daily parking pick up and nobody boarded two of the three.

I can fly out of SFO or SMF. I generally don't like to go through San Francisco but one or two more of these events and I'm sold. I can at least schedule parking at SFO.

I only wish there was an option to give you zero stars because you are deserving of nothing based on the service level you give your paying customers.

I see parking, but why is the parking lot closed, I circled around a bunch of times trying to find a parking lot but after a while it got annoying. I suggest you don't come to this lot and also when you see parking spots open, tell the staff.

Very poor bus service. Not enough buses. Overloaded. ED of airport should address this

Signs in parking lot said the isles were full and to keep going ahead, found a spot on a row a couple rows after the signs stopped. - So, I followed the posted directions (that is what you are supposed to to, right???) and some how, over the next 30 minutes, 4 shuttles passed me that said "full" (where did the people come from!?! We're they parking on the rows that said full ). So of course, that ate into my time only to finally have a shuttle stop as my airline app say my plane has stared to board. TSA, was fairly quick and I still got to the terminal 10 minutes before the departure time but was turned away. Next time, I should probably call an Uber from the parking lot... that would have been my only chance today.

Shuttle to and from rental car terminal is inadequate. To few bus with no volume to handle the quantity of people. If your renting a car, and 45min just for the transportation to and from the car rental.

Don't park your car here.

Cat converter was stolen our of my friend's truck twice in the same month. Somehow - some way.. these thieving meth heads were/are able to enter the lot, have ample time to cut out the parts and flee undetected. Twice. No video. No witnesses. Airport sheriff is an unresponsive/"our hands are tied" joke.

First theft occurred in the garage /long term. The second theft in their outdoor daily lot. SMF can't/won't get their theft issue under any kind of control. Park here at your risk.
