Salon Stilo

Courtney Chow, an exceptional color artist at Salon Stilo, was recommended to me by one of her clients.

I initially reached out via the Salon Stilo website. The staff got back to me within 24-hours via text message, which made the process easy.

As a new client, I was required to visit the Salon for a 15-minute consultation. At first, I was apprehensive about the consult, not wanting to do it. I was impatient and wanted my hair done as soon as practical. However, after my consult I learned to TRUST THE SYSTEM!  

Upon arrival for the consult, I was offered coffee, tea, or water. I then met Courtney. She assessed the condition of my hair in person and we went over the inspiration photos I had sent via text message during scheduling. I told her my vision, I asked for her opinion and we came up with a plan.

I booked an appointment for two weeks later while at the Salon. Fast forward two weeks and Courtney had everything prepared when I arrived. 

I had not had my hair done since before the pandemic, late 2019. Aware of this, Courtney alotted extra time to ensure my comfort. 

She set aside 4-hours just for me, during which I received a full color correction, including lightener and lowlights, a melt, toner, shampoo, conditioner, a hair treatment with B3, a cut, and a style. I also purchased a leave in conditioner from the Salon per her recommendation. 

Courtney is a very genuine person. She is non-judgmental, polite, and warm hearted. She did a fantastic job on my color and cut, providing a peaceful and relaxing experience. Worth noting that Courtney was friendly but never forced a conversation,  something I appreciate. She is all around lovely. Salon Stilo is lucky to have her and so am I. Thank you Courtney! 


I am very happy with how everything turned out and I am looking forward to my follow-up appointment.

My appointment was cancelled on the day of due to an emergency.
I would think they should have called to make sure the client received the text messsge.
I had a busy morning and didn't have time to check my messages. I rushed to my appointment and was told my appointment was cancelled and had to be rescheduled. They reached out by text but didn't try to make sure that it was received.
It is very annoying because they kept sending messages out about 48 hour cancellation policy but what if the stylist had to cancel on client?
I would just like them to make sure that they reach out to everyone and make sure they received the message.
I am really annoyed because it just doesn't seem like they care.

I usually only come here do get a wash/blowout but i ALWAYS leave SO HAPPY with my hair EVERY TIME!

Araceli is amazing with styling my hair. She does exactly what I ask her to do and she always follows through.

Will always come back here for a blowout!

I did my hair with Mola. I have long dark brown hair and my hair is naturally thinning due to genetics. I wanted to go blonde and asked for a cooler hue of a blonde balayage. Mola did the most amazing job ever! It is on the more expensive side but very well deserved. My hair did not break nor dry. She really took her time even though I showed up late. She is extremely understanding and easy to talk to. My hair did not thin more and I can even say I didn't notice any damage from the bleach. I told her that I live pretty far and may not come in on time for maintenance and she made sure my hair would grow out nicely with the blonde. Absolutely love this woman and love how she really does take care of her clients. I'm also on accutane right now and was advised not to redo my hair but the grow out is still very beautiful!

This review is for a haircut with Araceli, which I love so much!

I let my hair go and didn't have a fresh cut or trim in 6months! I was worried about going too short or too boring; Araceli listened to my needs and was aware of my face shape too.

She was also friendly and efficient, which I appreciated!

After 6 years of disappointing experiences, I found my first absolutely amazing hair experience at Salon Stilo. I wasn't just content, I was genuinely happy and confident.

I found the salon through one of my countless hair searches on instagram which then then led me to each stylist's personal account. Though I felt comfortable going to any of the stylists at Stilo (honestly insane how amazing they are - hair wizards for real) I chose Mola based on what her transformations from dark to light.

Coordinating an appt time with my preferred stylist was smooth. All info I could ever need was provided via email as well as the appt confirmation.

The salon itself is clean, beautiful and incredibly welcoming. It's truly the best environment you could ask for in a hair salon. Mola was meticulous and kind. She's so professional and beyond knowledgeable for everything and anything hair related.

I'm so grateful for Salon Stilo and Mola! They are straight magicians and I highly recommend checking them out

I've lived in the Bay Area for about 3 years now and have gone to a few salons in the area trying to find THE person for my hair. After a subpar experience at another local salon that ended with a truly unfortunate hair cut, Natalia saved my hair! She's so so good! A friend of mine recommended her and I'm so glad I came to see her!

Natalia truly understands how Hair works and wasn't afraid to be honest with me about the condition my hair was left in and what could reasonably be done to fix it. I truly appreciated her expertise because I was ready to pull a Britney 2007.

Let's just say that I walked in looking like Professor Snape (not in a good way) and left with an actual beautiful haircut. I'm writing this review after my second correction hair cut with Natalia and I'm once again just so in love with the cut she gave me.

I walked in ready for a Bob and Natalia was once again very informative about the length I could/couldn't get with the grow out situation and the progress my hair had made. We even looked up pictures on Pinterest together to make sure we were on the same page about how it was going to end up looking given the state of my hair. And it turned out amazing!

This review is for Maria who does magic to my hair! I got a haircut in early 2021 and then a Brazilian blow out in Dec.

I came here back in May to fix the wreck of a haircut I gave myself during quarantine and I saw Salon Stilo on ClassPass (but Salon Stilo is no longer on it) so I decided to give it a try and I'm soooo glad I did because I'm never going somewhere else to get my hair cut. No one touches my hair except for Maria!

I have very coarse wavy hair and lots of it so definitely not an easy task to make it look good. I just told Maria to give me some layers and face framing pieces and when I say she understood the assignment - she UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT. At the end of the cut, my ends looked so healthy and I'm consistently catching myself looking at my reflection cos I'm in LOVE with my hair. I asked her if she has any tips for frizz as well since that's unavoidable when you have wavy hair and she suggested a Brazilian blow out, so of course I got one because I trust her 1000% with my hair.

And since I'm getting married in dec I made an appt asap with Maria for the Brazilian blow out because there's no one else I would trust to get my hair wedding ready. 2 hrs later and I come out of the salon looking like I stole a Victoria secret model's hair because it was so bouncy and voluminous!!

It took me 20 years to find a salon that deserves my loyalty but it was definitely worth the wait. I'm definitely team Salon Stilo as long as Maria is there!

After doing a lot of research on salons in my area, I finally decided on Salon Stilo for my first haircut in FIVE YEARS (My hair had become naturally curly in the last few years, and I wanted to see how it would grow out).

Monica Nguyen cut my hair. She was super friendly and was very honest with me on how much I had to take off the ends. Though I was reluctant to cut off so much, my hair feels so much healthier now and I love the layers she added. She also styled it at the end with a curling iron. The haircut was ~1 hr and cost $75 before tip.

P. S. They couldn't blow dry in store due to COVID, so she straightened my curly hair first to see the full length. Come in with clean hair!

Unfortunate that both of my appointments got canceled. If the online booking system does not work well to ensure good customer service and follow-up, you might consider not using it especially since many of your customers might not be checking emails regularly and have to carve out time to get their hair done. I showed up at the cancelled appointment and it was a waste of time. My two cents worth.
