Small, local breakfast place.
Menu offers different options. From pancakes, waffle to eggs .
Variety of eggs options. Ordered eggs Florentine with home potatoes, was delicious. Great coffee and good service.
Located old Martinez downtown between attorney offices and Bali bonds. Easy parking if you come early. Check business hours before you go.
I highly recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matsuo U.Orinda, CAAug 23, 2024
Never realized how charming downtown Martinez really is. Arrived early at Sal's [@6:15AM] was quickly greeted by a nice waitress. Martinez is growing on me. Near the Court house, this is a no-nonsense breakfast joint. Seems like a family owned/run place, that doesn't sacrifice on quality of food nor service. Its a humble but competent joint to begin your day with your choice of standard breakfast fare.

A lovely family owned restaurant! The staff is very kind and accommodating. The food is yummy and they have some fun dessert breakfasts that are amazing. The location is easy to find and parking was easy. Thank you for a lovely afternoon for our family!

My husband and I have been to this business two or three times now. It never seems overly crowded or loud which I really love. It's even quiet enough that you can have a decent conversation with anyone you're with or around you.
The ladies that seat you, take your order, and serve the food are also quite pleasant and when we were there on Valentine's Day, I was having a somewhat difficult time choosing between two dishes so I asked our waitress and she was able to help me quickly and didn't seem to mind doing so.
My husband and I always enjoy the food here and we even ordered a dessert-type item this time around. They're called Funnel Fries which were strips of fried funnel cake dough dusted with powdered sugar and served with both a caramel and a chocolate sauce on the side. I highly recommend trying the breakfast here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 14, 2023
We came here on a Saturday around 11:30pm. There is a street parking and meters are free on the weekend. Can be a little tough to find parking depending what time you arrive.
We were asked if we'd like to be seated inside or outside, we said inside since it was getting warm. Service was fast and friendly.
The country fried steak was delicious. It has made the list to one of my favorite places to go for this item. One thing I didn't like tho was that my hash browns were underneath the country fried steak and got covered in the gravy and became soggy. I would've liked a bigger plate to have everything sitting separately. But it wasn't too big of a deal.
The bonanza is a good choice if you're debating between getting a waffle or French toast.
Everything was delicious and id definitely come back again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 27, 2024
This place has great food! All the breakfast basics with some additional options that make their menu stand out. They have a great "half portion" section with flavorful options at a perfect size for me. Friendly staff and great tasting food, too!

Service was quick. Not too busy. The bacon pecan waffle was recommended to me and boy it did not disappoint. I felt like it was missing something, but still very good. Ambience was what it needed to be. There is also outdoor seating. It was a bit difficult to find. Not badly priced if I may add. Keep in mind you have to pay for parking but it is only 50 cents for 30 minutes.

This review is purely for American style kitchen it is. Had a pleasant experience in everything. Fair warning, - the entries are giant, so while making an order, please make sure you'll be able to handle it.
Got myself a half a combo with hashbrowns, which turned out to be a little bit greasy, however, very tasty and is done right on the spot spice level, and baked.
Please might need a little bit of a tuneup interior wise however, again for the atmosphere, it provides - it has its own vibe.
Thank you, ladies, for quality service and delicious food.
We'll see you next time.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Feb 10, 2023
Today I went here for lunch. It was my first time.
It's a restaurant with lots of seating inside, I guess you could call it a diner.
I got the waffle with eggs and bacon. Very good. I was impressed. I got a glass of water and it was very large with ice. They had two unisex restrooms.
Friendly staff. The regular customers here that staff knew by name were a bunch of characters. One of the staff member's daughter was inside and she was having a lot of fun playing around.
Cool place. I'll be back. Generous portions.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Trena G.Martinez, CA1211Jul 4, 2024
Tasty food although my poached eggs (Benedict) were over cooked. Clean. WORST service ever. We waited 20 minutes to have our order (3 people) taken. Then others that arrived after us received their food before us. Then two of our party got their plates and I didn't get mine for 10 minutes after.
