Just got my car tinted and they did an awesome job. Good customer service and highly recommend anybody to get their car tinted here!

Just had my sedan tinted here today. When I first asked about price he said $550-$650 so I apologized and said I had to cancel my apt then he said how about $250 for just the side windows and we skip the back window. I agreed to that price but he charged my credit card $360. I didn't even notice until I got home.

I called and he said the upgraded carbon film costs 100 extra. I was shocked, he never mentioned different product options with price differences.

We got into it and he eventually refunded 105 cash but the whole thing felt like a bait and switch operation, his words not mine.

Was it all a misunderstanding? Maybe he just forgot to mention it? If I had been given the option to get a premium product for an extra $100 I would have gone with the cheaper option 100%. Also the one back window costs $300, wow!

So, I ended up getting just my side windows for $255. I want to share my experience because I drove all the way to this location specifically, passing other tinting places because of all the good reviews and I wanted to support a small locally owned business instead of a big box store but ended up feeling regretful about my choice.

He doesn't have prices posted anywhere on the website or in the shop, now I know why.

Edit: the saga continues, when I called about being overcharged he tried to tell me he was clear about the price but I told him to roll back the tapes, I saw the security cameras he could see for himself, so he refunded me.
After seeing the review here he left me several messages and phone calls gaslighting me. See attached.
Andrew: to avoid this you should write down the job and price on a piece of paper and have us sign it when we give you our keys, Problem solved. BTW your competitor down the street is doing full car ceramic tint plus the back window for $99, I wish I had gone there rather than getting the half job I got and I would have saved a lot of money and the headache too. I don't see how you think anyone is supposed to be happy about this situation.

After 7 years, the rear window tint started to peel badly. I called the shop up and asked about the life time warranty. Andrew honored it, asked for the receipt, took some pictures of the tint, submitted the claim (took about 5 business days), scheduled me and bam a new tint was installed at no cost.

Andrew's work is outstanding. I've had several vehicles tinted at other shops in the past. This is hands-down the best tint job I've ever had. I will definitely be recommending San Diego Tint to family and friends.

This the only place I trust to tint my cars! Andrew is great and easy to work with. I've brought him three car in the last 10 years and the results are perfect each time! It drives me nuts seeing cars with bubble tint all around the car and I always think... how in the world can you see out of the car!?! Never gonna happen here! Save yourself the headache and have your car looking picture perfect and exactly how you want it! The Honda still looks amazing and the Tesla tint is flawless.

Everything was simple, straightforward, fast and professionally done within a few hours. I had inquire the request via Yelp, he had all my questions answered and helped me the very next day.

He advised me on tint recommendations as well as let me choose without any pressure at all. Cant say enough about him, just a pleasant experience overall and will recommend him to my friends and family.

Andrew (owner) is Amazing and very knowledgeable. He's straight to the point, honest and uses high quality tint (ceramic). My car had tinted windows 5% rear, 15% backseat, and no tint on front or windshield. He removed the previous tint and installed ceramic and it looks amazing. It looks great. 5% rear, 15% back, 35% front and 70% windshield. I can even see BETTER from the inside when I check my blind spots! I was worried it would be the opposite. I will update with pictures soon! It's dark now. I was concerned about minor details but I felt a lot better after I spoke with Andrew the morning after. So everything is good. I would gladly come again and refer friends and family. The price is well worth it.

The owner responded to my original post saying that I was reviewing a different business, so I posted a redacted copy of my receipt and then he proceeded to direct message me and tell me that I am insane and that it never happened. This guy is too much! Do yourself a favor and take it to another shop where you know the owner will install and charge you correctly, will value your business and ask questions before they give you answers.

Andrew is very honest and San Diego Tint is very economically priced. Andrew gave me great technical insight as well as guided me on what the results of the available tints would look like to help make my decision process quick and easy. I had my third of three cars done there today and it looks great. I learned of San Diego Tint from a friend who is a very picky car fanatic and I am glad that I took his advice. Will definitely return when I get another vehicle.

I recently bought a new car and it didn't come with factory tinted windows. Since I visit family in Arizona now and then, I knew with the summer heat that I would want some tint to help keep my car cool. I searched on Yelp and found San Diego Tint in La Mesa. There were other businesses that looked great, but their reputation and straight forward pricing convinced me. You can see from their page, they do great work and it was no different for me. I gave them a call and said I could bring my car down the next day between 8am-9am. I was the first person there just after 8am and Andrew walked me through my options on type of tint and color. When I went to pick up my car, he let me know I had about 5 more hours to let the tint dry and should be good to go. Everything came out so nice and the whole experience was so easy!
