Brett and his crew are fantastic! Brett is highly knowledgable about all things edible gardening and had tons of great ideas to transform our boring backyard to something beautiful that also feeds us. Brett is also versed in grey water and water efficient landscaping.
We had SF Landscapes fill our newly constructed garden boxes with soil and install an irrigation system, pathway and drought tolerant lawn. All of which are beautiful and have exceeded our expectations.
SF Landscapes was not the lowest quote we received for the work nor the highest. The level of service was well worth the price.
This is the type of local business I like to support. Brett is highly involved with the Alemany Farm, a local educational farm and SF Landscapes has been a part of the San Bruno Bee Farm as well as he Burrows Pocket Park.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kristen L.San Francisco, CA13021Jul 27, 2023
I had a great experience working with Brett and the rest of the San Francisco Landscapes crew. I initially started working with another company (Spryscapes), but the owner of that company retired before my project got off the ground. SF Landscaped picked it up seamlessly.
They completely overhauled our back yard, including tearing out old hardscape, installing a patio, an irrigation system, and all new plants. They did all of this while keeping an eye on my budget, and reusing old components when possible.
I am so happy with the result!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jeri G.San Francisco, CA1639May 23, 2022
SFL is such an incredible group of hardworking people who are knowledgeable and friendly. They are well-known in the industry for being professional and reliable. They have beautiful artistic visions and can make a plot of dirt and sand into a utopia on time and within budget.

JP came out and was able to help us with an algae bloom in our koi pond. He also gave us great recommendations on ground cover and how to care for our Koi.

Brett and his able co-worker repaired my pond back in 2019. He took a falling apart stonework and reworked it, while lowering and landscaping the pond itself. He installed the liner and put back all the flagstones - very artfully done. This was a craftsman level job - would highly recommend.

I use SF Landscapes for many years on two separate properties with very different needs and I am never disappointed with the results. They always offer the most economical and ecologically friendly methods to handle building and maintaining large and small gardens, deck and stairs cleaning and ceiling, minor tree trimming, gutter cleaning and more. Excellent plant knowledge and selection, full access to beautiful recycled materials and fabulous raw wood for any kind of landscape building as well as expert irrigation are just a part of the possibilities with SF Landscapes not to mention the respect given to the folks they employ. Everything they have built for me is built to last and any concerns I had were always addressed in a timely fashion to my satisfaction. In the pics are 12'x4' redwood beds, trees pruned, plants selected like the passion flower which produces over 100 fruit each season, stairs cleaned and sealed, 60' of triple layer trellising and much more and this is just on one of my small properties. I cannot recommend them enough! There aren't enough stars to give!

After 5 years at at least $180 per month, often more, plus premium prices for materials, the company informed me that they would no longer do my gardening. When I asked for a reason, they said I was not a big enough customer and they were going from $60 per hour per worker to $75. So one and a half hours work by two people would cost $225 but even if I wanted to pay it, they did not want my business. The company is very green, uses no power cutters, blowers, etc. which is great. One of the principals no longer does hands on work and the people who work now are slow and not as experienced. They do not take credit cards. They would not make any recommendations about another gardener. I am 79 and feel that I have been judged to be disposable.
I have a new gardener who has removed over 30 bags of dead material from my lower backyard. I have MS but they helped me survey their work. I cannot fathom what SF Landscapes did for all the money they received. Green is good but be careful.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rori R.San Francisco, CA1512May 9, 2017
SF Landscapes did a fantastic job overhauling our yard. From the start Brett understood what I was looking for and helped transplant and incorporate aspects instead of demo-ing everything. They also recycled what they could by offering irrigation controller parts to a local non-profit. Brett had excellent ideas and is well versed in recycling, re-purposing and keeping costs low.
The crew was hard working and fast. They listened to requests about saving certain plants and we were able to transplant and not loose everything. The project was completed in under 3 weeks. Their proposal came in under my budget and completed in record time - what could be finer?!
Hire this company if you can - you'd be lucky to have such a conscientious and dedicated crew looking after your project. We were very pleased.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jill F.San Francisco, CA21933Oct 20, 2016
Brett and his crew are great. They are really knowledgable, talented, easy to work with and just genuinely nice people. They installed a rainwater catchment system for me, as well as a laundry-to-landscape system. They helped me plant an edible backyard farm, helped me fix my irrigation system. I highly recommend this crew for anyone interested in edible gardening, drought-tolerance, grey-water, or eco-friendly landscaping.

Brett did a really good job designing and implementing our rainwater cistern system (it was slightly tricky albeit overall somewhat basic). He came out one day and he was able to squeeze us in between jobs the following day and got it done in a couple hours. They arrived on time, finished on time, cleaned and we are all set.
