San Mateo Rentals

Had two BBQ propane tanks filled. Perfect experience...quick, easy, courteous, and pricing was reasonable.

I love this place! They pretty much have any and everything you need to rent if your working on your home or garden or even if your starting off with a small business! The guys are great here! Especially the gentleman named Juan! He is very helpful and seems to be a very hard worker, he is very kind and pretty much knows everything you would need for what your working on! I definitely recommend this place!

It is CLOSED. It was bought out by large company Herc a few years ago is now only open weekdays with fewer people working there. Is still ok but Yelp needs to update its listing because San Mateo Rentals no longer exists, unfortunately. Stop letting Herc benefit from the confusion created by incorrect listings and make them earn and live by their own reviews.

Rented a cargo van from here from Burning Man and had a great experience. First of all, most rental places don't do burning man rentals since it wears out the vehicle quite a bit. However, we just got an additional $100 charge (for air filter replacement) and they were fine with the rental.

The cargo van itself was definitely not in the best condition. There was an ant colony in the back, and the exterior of the vehicle wasn't in the best shape. However, since we were taking out to the desert, it didnt really matter for us.

Best of all, the rental was decently priced and the whole rental process was fuss free. Definitely renting from them again!

Good place to get propane. Lowest price and they charge by the gallon instead of the container. Lot is a little crowded, but service is great.

I have never been a big customer but I've rented equipment over the years.
More recently I have gone there to purchase propane. I have bought four tanks and several refills. Not a ton of money; maybe between $200 and $500.
I went in today to get a refill and to exchange a tank I bought that did not work.
Their reaction? "GO POUND SAND"
Good retailers usually stand behind their products or, at lest, try to make customers as satisfied as possible.
I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO SAN MATEO RENTALS AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER.
It would be sad to see a local business die but the people running it need to care about their customers or go into a different business.

Reliable, local(!), honest, and they don't cancel your rental without telling you (cough, U-Haul, cough cough). The best around.

Name changed. I missed the store b/c I was looking for the "San Mateo Rentals" sign, which doesn't exist. Look for the "HercRental" sign.

I like going to San Mateo rental because they have great service and they have any type of tools or equipment for whatever your job is that day, the guys here are very hard workers and hector is one that is very helpful and was able to show me how to use a demo saw and I appreciate his hard work, thanks hector!

This place rocks! I was in need of a little excavator to get rid of some unwanted dirt in my backyard so I went here. They delivered the machine to my house, I was done in a couple hours and then they came and picked it up.

Bam! That's it! I felt like I got a fairly good deal and it was really pain free. I'm not sure I will need anything else from them anytime soon but if I do I will definitely go back.

And in regards to price.. it was cheaper and easier to use/rent the machine from them than it was if I went to hire some guys to get all the dirt out.

I am a happy guy now. Use them and you will be too!

Amazing service. Jamie and Michael were incredibly kind to me and make the pick up and return of the power washer so easy! If you ever need to rent any appliance, do it with San Mateo Rentals!
