This place is great! I've tried many dishes from here and you really can't go wrong-- the coctels are especially delicious!
Service is excellent and the interior decor is lively. If you're lucky, you'll catch the mariachi band coming through.
Highly recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angelica C.Dos Palos, CA34529Aug 16, 2024
We had high hopes for this place, but we were really disappointed with the food and service. The ambiance was amazing, but the food left a lot to be desired.
My husband ordered the pork plate with the carnitas, chile verde, and chile rojo. The plate came out super hot, and all the different pork meat was dry like it had come out of a microwave. The flavor was lacking on my husband's plate, and my Camarones a la Mexicana.
We came here because of the high reviews and thought we were going to have delicious Mexican food. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Maybe others will have better luck with their food than we did.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Curtis L.San Francisco, CA017Jul 23, 2024
Avoid this place! My credit card number was fraudulently stolen shortly after I left San Jalisco. I came here to get a quesadilla and, having experienced a bit of sticker shock after I saw the bill ($21 for a quesadilla!) I didn't feel like adding a tip. When the lady who was taking my payment noticed that I didn't tip, she got visibly angry and her tone quickly changed from happy to irritated (let me say again: $21 for a quesadilla!). I left, and an hour later, my credit card company alerted me to some fraudulent charges appearing on my credit card: $102 for a pizza. Parking charges for a street I've never been to. I'm just lucky I stopped it in time.
I can't say for sure that they did it, but I do remember how irritated the lady got when I didn't tip, and this was the only place I used my credit card at that day. I'm not going there again, if only so that I don't have to pay $21 for a quesadilla, and I don't feel like risking more fraudulent charges on my card.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - May 23, 2024
I was looking for a sit down Mexican spot for dinner and decided to check out this place. The ambiance was nice, and I liked all the decor. But the food was lackluster and not worth coming back for.
I got the green enchiladas, and honestly everything on my plate lacked flavor. With each bite I took, I never felt the desire to want to take any more bites. The enchiladas also were hardly lukewarm, and the cheese was barely melted. I ended up barely finishing half of the items on my plate because it was all too bland.
The chips and salsa were just okay too. The chips were a bit too thick and hard to bite into. Also note that only the first serving of chips are free. Additional chips and salsa costs almost $5. This worked for us though because we didn't want any more.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mari R.Fort Worth, TXAug 29, 2024
If you want yummy Mexican food in SF, come here. Not only was everything I ate delicious but the portions are enormous. We ended up going twice during the 5 days we were visiting SF. That's how good it was. We had the chilaquiles verdes con pollo, caldo de res, enchilada rojo, chile relleno, and flan. Oh, and mexican hot chocolate that was perfection. Go hungry and bring your friends.

I got the carnitas dinner entree and the meat was largely cubed and a bit dry, not how I like my carnitas at all. The refried beans were also so dry, felt like it was refried an extra third time that was unnecessary. Table chips you only get 1 free basket, any additional is extra charge. One compliment is I liked how big their water cups are.
The inside of the restaurant is super cute. A classic homey Mexican restaurant feel. A mariachi band stopped by at the start, then asked me for tips. I think they go around different restaurants in the area.
Won't be back and don't recommend. But if you look inside it's cute!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Lauren A.Concord, CAAug 6, 2024

Love this place!! Every time we come her we get great service and awesome authentic Mexican Food. The art work on each table is great and all the pictures on the wood as well.
The michelada is one of the best one I had. The Caldo de Red(Beef Soup) comes with lots of tender meat and lots flavorful veggies. The Choriqueso, melted cheese with chorizo goes great with the fresh hand made tortillas.
They never disappoint every time we come here!!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Oct 10, 2022Previous reviewHands down the best Caldo de Res and Posole verde I ever had. They also have albondigas on Wednesday's. I will differently come back to try that.
Jun 10, 2021Previous reviewGreat tasting authentic Mexican food. We ordered the Choriqueso: Melted Monterey Jack Cheese combine with Mexican Style Pork Sausage for appetizer. It was great tasting. We had Pozole and Machaca: Steak & Eggs scrambled with Onions, Tomatoes, and Peppers. The pozole had so much flavor in it, was one of the best I had and the Machaca was very good as well. Michilada made perfect. The service was great too!!

I live down the street and have been wanting to try this place, unfortunately I wasn't impressed but I always notice a line on weekends so maybe I didn't order the right thing. I ordered hot chocolate, horchata, albondigas soup and Lupe's Special. The drinks were good but nothing to brag about. The albondigas was only okay, I was looking forward to a soup and it was their daily soup. I was hoping to get pazole but it's only served on weekends. The Lupe's Special was good but again, nothing to brag about. It's served in a spicy sauce mixed with sour cream. I think I might go back but I would order breakfast instead. I think those items are more popular and it's served all day.
Service was okay, it became slower as the night went on but it got pretty busy on a Tuesday night. It didn't seem they had many servers when I was there.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
