Love the Feast of Santa Rosalia. I try to go whenever it's on. sausage Sandwiches are blazing from the Lucy Carts!

The 18th Avenue Feast, in my opinion, is the Brooklyn annual pre-game to San Genaro. Over the years, the feast has become smaller, and seemingly shorter in duration. I've never had a bad experience, but it's not what it used to be.
As I'm older now, to allow my daughter to have some fun. Some rides, a few games and some quality food. After a year off, due to Covid, it's made it's return. I'd suggest if you have small kids, it's better to go earlier in the day, before the teenagers and adults come out.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Steven B.New York, NY093Aug 28, 2023
The feast is always a good time. I wanted to leave a review because I may have been tricked/scammed into buying zeppole's from an imposter zeppole stand. I always buy from Lucy's which has a white, red and green look to their zeppole stand. This year I saw a stand named Lucy's but it had a reddish sign and it seemed different than the Lucy's I have been buying from for years. So I purchased them from this different Lucy's and the Zeppole's had a burnt taste. Not sure if this possibly imposter Lucy's is affiliated with the Lucy's I normally go to. The 2nd day I went to the feast I saw the original Lucy's as well as the possibly imposter Lucy's and am not sure if they would have multiple Lucy's zeppole stands especially since they were very close by one another and if the feast organizers would even allow two zeppole stands with the same name but that are two completely different owners but I am going to leave a photo of the Lucy's zeppole stand you should go to as I never had any problems with that one. If they are the same owned Lucy's hopefully they will stop burning their zeppole's as this is the first time I had a bad experience with the zeppole's and if they are not affiliated with the Lucy's I showed in the photo then they should think of a different name as they are likely just copying the original Lucy's name to steal customers from the original Lucy's. They are pretty much a scam business if they are doing this if they are not affiliated with the OG Lucy's. They should also learn how to make better zeppole's that are not burnt tasting. Thanks for reading this and hopefully you get better zeppole's at upcoming feasts than the ones I got this year.

Food, music, rides, Italian people -- what's not to love about the 18th Street Festival? It should be remembered, though, that the point of the festival is St. Rosalia, the patron Saint of Palermo, and how she interceded with God to save Palermo from a pandemic. People who attend the feast should keep this in mind. Who doesn't love Santa Rosalia ? Happens every year... the most accurate way to find it if you don't know the cross streets just google and look for Villabate alba the bakery... it's pretty cool to walk around and AMAZING if you have kids but they have rides for adults too. Fried Oreos are good and so are the fresh pizzas just wish it spanned over more blocks..

I always look forward to your annual feast in my neighborhood. The food, fun, and shopping. However, my big letdown was that so-called Mr. Softee Truck on Saturday, August 31. Normally, ice cream vendors either charge the same for the cup or cone. The amount of ice cream was on the small side. The con man charged me $4 after he handed me my cup. I asked him why. His answer was "It's $3 for a cone." It was hot, and I was too hungry to start an argument. I walked to the shade to eat the ice cream. Damn, the ice cream was fake Mr. Softee. It tasted more like frozen Cool Whip. I've been conned again! I didn't want to ruin my day, and figured it would be better to vent here on Yelp. I didn't know if this truck was a real Mr. Softee truck, nor could I locate this truck's regular route on Yelp. I would appreciate it if you could do a better background check with these ice cream trucks. Thanks again.
